Super juicy and fresh. And the most important part: not greasy or very salty. Love it!

I'm new to the area coming from the Main Line where we have spots like Johnny's in Bryn Mawr or Gentili's in Exton or Gazzos in Pottstown or Angelo's on 9th or John's roast pork or Del Rossi's or Dellasandros, I could go on. I will say there was plenty of meat on the roll but the ratio of cheese to meat was underwhelming and couldn't taste the onions. Staff was polite, but they need a better system for online and phone orders versus walk-ins. I'll be back to try again in a day or evening when it's not so busy that they can take care while making the sandwich. Note with the rising costs of food product the sandwich's are not inexpensive.

I had the small cheesesteak and it was huge! It had the perfect amount of meat, Cooper Sharp, and onions. What I mean by perfect amount, is the meat didn't over flow all over the place. It didn't make the roll soggy. Every bite had meat in it and it wasn't a sloppy mess. It was delicious. I also had the Italian hoagie! The thing was huge and heavy and delicious. Pretty damned impressive for an otherwise fairly dated space. I went with two favorites; hot dog (Blitzkrieg Bop Dog) and Pierogi (Let's Polka), both of which were enjoyable and very tasty. The Blitz was full of sauerkraut and spicy mustard (ketchup added at the counter). Split and grilled, its only weakness was a broken roll that wasn't quite up to the challenge of holding everything together. Still, I liked it to the last bite. The potato cheddar dough pockets were deep fried and covered in sautéed sweet onion and crisp bacon pieces. Housemade creamy onion dip really added a special effect when it interacted with everything in my mouth. Quite the oral dance party. Delicious. The list of local bands playing at High Steaks was impressive. Definitely added a great sixties feel to the joint. This place is special. Five by five all the way.

You'll be looking for Maxi's Bar which is located next door and connected via an inside door between the two businesses. I found parking across the street, which was metered! The staff inside was very friendly and helpful. They were passionate about the food and you could tell by the way they described everything to me. The owner was sitting at a table chatting with a couple of old veterans. He was nice and very appreciative for my business. They had a TV inside with the midday news on. The menu had a lot to choose from (burgers, steak sandwiches, chicken, roast beef and meatballs to name a few, but I wanted to see what "THE PORK BOSS" theme on the menu's was all about. I ordered the Hot Hooker at $13.75 - Smoked Hot links (think foot long hot dogs), topped with House pulled pork, mild provolone & bacon, topped with Ghost Pepper BBQ sauce. The sandwich was huge. The bread was fresh, pulled pork was a tad dry, but the bbq sauce made up for it. I would have asked for sharper provolone, but I'm not sure if they had it. The bacon was crispy and the hot links provided a nice kick, but lacked the smoke I was looking for. If they make that BBQ sauce homemade and available for purchase I would be a buyer. Overall it was a huge meaty meal of a 'wich and it held together really well! If I'm in the area I'll return for a second round. The menu is well rounded and the staff knows how to put together a sandwich!

I ordered three pizzas: Upside down, White & Pepperoni. Ordered three sandwiches: One chicken steak, two beef steak. Wings: two orders. For starters we loved the wings - crispy and meaty and not at all greasy. The pizzas were also a hit. The thin crispy crust was great and cooked just right. All of them were delicious but our favorite was the pepperoni. The cheesesteaks - wow!! Seriously the BEST cheesesteaks in town. You can taste the cheese in every single bite. The sandwiches were loaded with chicken or beef and the seeded roll was fresh. The only thing that could have been better? The pizza temperature. Oddly, when we arrived home (about 10 minutes later), the pizzas weren't hot? The wings and the cheesesteaks were both perfect. Ordering and pick up was a breeze. The staff were friendly and the food was very good. Our only regret is that we haven't tried this place sooner! We will definitely be back. Hopefully the pizza will be hot.

Place was pretty cool inside, old school vibes with the flooring, wall posters, and even video games. Had to wait about twenty minutes for a table for three, not a big deal, as it was a Friday night and somewhat expected. Prices were a little high, but not crazy. Service was good, food came out fairly quickly. Ordered a couple of pizzas, steak sandwich and fries. Round pizza was decent. Detroit was underwhelming, and was really hard to eat. It was very difficult to get off of the screen, very sloppy, not a lot of crisp-was really hoping for a better pie. Steak sandwich was fine-roll was decent, meat was seasoned, but didn't really set itself apart. I will say the bar area had a really good vibe, and I could maybe see myself returning for a couple of drinks and maybe some apps. Wish I could give a three and a half, but unfortunately it didn't really earn a four for me.
