I go here at least once or twice a week. The staff are friendly, food is fantastic and always made right, the actual restaurant is always clean and it's just an amazing place to go if your hungry. This place has what it takes to produce a solid steak, though it falls short. I ordered a large with extra cheese. Must been 18". $18. I'm glad I asked for extra cheese because what I got was looked like the normal amount though they deemed it "extra". You know what separates an iconic Philly style-Angelo's, JRP, from the pack? Cheese. Basic, American cheese, and lots of it. This thin layer between the meat and bread stuff ain't it. Mix the cheese throughout. It should be glue holding it all together. The meat and even the roll don't need to be high quality if you're making a real steak, 70/30 meat to cheese ratio. Cheese it up. It's what we want. Charge me more, I don't care. Sigh.. read more

This was a wonderful surprise cheesesteak. I want it to spend the afternoon in historic New Castle and needed a cheesesteak from somewhere along the way. 3D's was the wonderful answer. Family owned for over 30 years. I don't know what else to say, this was a very good pizza shop cheese steak. We traveled so the roll doesn't look it's best but it tasted good and did its job. Was expecting more... better! You ask why I was expecting more or better? It's because I had shown a picture of what I was looking for. The picture came from a review of what they had made for someone else... I've posted the picture below.. top is what was in the review, which was shown at the time of order. The bottom was what I got. What I ordered, based on what I was told by the employee, was a medium (12") cheesesteak. I ordered it with fried onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. Taste was good, but it was lacking in meat.. It didn't fill me up at all. I ended up stopping at a chicken place and getting 5 whole wings. Employee was very friendly and if it wasn't for her being friendly, I would have given it 1 star because I showed them exactly what I wanted. Now, I will try one more time to see if they can give me what's in the picture... If they do, great! If not, I'll be lowering my rating. BTW, the bottom pic is 1/2 of the 12" cheesesteak. Cheesesteaks are awesome but need to ask for extra cheese. Otherwise it's hard to tell if any cheese is on your sandwich.

Love the food here the quality is A1. I get there wraps, pizza and cheesesteaks and cheese fries( which are the best I ever had). Normally DDD's is great with their food and customer service. I specifically ordered a chicken cheese steak with provolone cheese, mayo, raw onions and green peppers. I also ordered mozzarella sticks, hubbt wanted a mushroom cheesesteak. Order arrives and guess what, my chicken cheesesteak was actually beef. I was so hungry I ate it anyways. I called to complain and of course I was told that I actually ordered the beef cheesesteak. I know what I ordered. DDD lost one of their regular customer. I used to eat here in the 80's. Now my son goes to Castle Hills Elementary so we went there one day for Pizza. That was kind of a big mistake because my picky son loves their pizza and now we go everyday after school. Their cheesesteaks are just as good as they were in the 80's. The staff are also very nice. I usually don't even have to give them my order because they already know. And they call my son and I by our names. It's really nice to deal with polite and friendly people. It's been a while since I had a 3DDD's cheese steak and I have bought the last thing I'm buying from express wings... horrible! I decided to give 3ddd's a chance to impress me, as I was told It's new owners. Well... the cheese steak was disappointing! I ordered small cheese steak with lettuce, tomatoes and raw onion. I got lettuce and onion, NO tomatoes. The lettuce was cut so thin on a meat slicer not at all big torn pieces like I see in the pics in reviews or the menu. Also I agree with other reviews that say needs more cheese. They seem to be more interested in making money over good food and repeat business. read more

I ordered a medium pizza last night. They told me it would be 20 minutes to arrive, I live 10 minutes away and my pizza took an hour to arrive. Upon the arrival there was so much cheese on it, it was all a hard layer of cheese. The sauce was bitter and the toppings were not great. super disappointed and will not order again read more

I don't usually write reviews, but today I ordered the grilled chicken wrap with let, tom, and extra American cheese. I was NOT disappointed. The wrap had so much chicken on it. They used regular chicken and chopped it up very fine instead of large chunks like other places. Last week I had the Buffalo Chicken wrap and again, WOW! I watched as they took marinated tenderloins out of the bag and placed them on the grill. So full of flavor and just enough heat. I recommend this place for their chicken. On a long road trip to North Carolina, my wife had a craving for hoagies. No not subs or heros, she would only go to a place that had hoagies. So we google earthed it and found this place not that far off of route 13 in New Castle. It was a pretty small take out joint in a strip mall with one table there for eating. The food was excellent. The "hoagie" was their italian special (small). This was 5pm on a saturday and the bread was still fresh and so was everything on it. It was the "small" and it was over a foot long. I shudder to think of what the large is. We also ordered a cheesesteak and it was also very good. I saw them cook it, the meat was fresh not frozen. We also took a piece of chocolate cake out of the fridge which was also fresh and good. The woman helping us was nice and started making our food right away while we looked to see what drink we wanted. normally places that serve a large amount of menu items dont do it right but seems they are. read more

Four of us ordered lunch from here one day. We all got the cheese steak special. One coworker commented that they forgot the cheese on her sandwich. When another coworker looked at hers, she noticed hers didn't have any either. Mine was supposed to have extra cheese. If you looked closed enough you could see a small sliver of cheese. It was really disappointing. I'm sorry but if I'm getting a cheese steak, it should have two things on it...CHEESE and STEAK. But the worst part was that we work about 10 minutes away from the shop. They told us 40-50 minutes for delivery. An hour after placing the order I had to call back in which I was told "it's on its way." Another 20 minutes later and the food finally showed up. Three D's is a fantastic steak shop in an oddly-located tiny strip mall hidden deep within a neighborhood in New Castle. I never would have thought a place in such a weird location would be so good! I normally order their Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak which is always delicious. The bread they use is never stale and the meat is cooked fresh on the grill, which you can see if you order in their shop. The people working the counter are friendly and the owner is usually there either cooking or giving customers their orders. If you stop in around lunchtime, the place is packed with people who work in the nearby industrial parks. Three D's is definitely a hidden gem in New Castle as far as lunch spots/steak shops go! read more

I absolutely love this place. Great customer service from the ladies up front; extremely cordial. I love their food. I usually eat here at least once a week. No complaints really. They could stick a little closer to the time that they tell you your food will be ready, but they're always busy no matter what time of the day it is, so I understand the few extra minutes I may have to wait. My husband and I were looking for a place that wasn't a chain and took a chance on DDD's. It's owned by a Greek family. One brother was working the cash register and the other was cooking. They were very friendly and made us feel like they were happy we came. The food was delicious. I got a cheesesteak lunch special for $6 or $7 and my husband got a small chicken cheesesteak. Both sandwiches were very good and I was happy because we didn't have to patronize a chain restaurant. If I am ever back in the New Castle area I will stop in for a quick meal. To sum up DDD'S: Clean restaurant Good fresh food Friendly service I'm giving it three stars because 5 would be the best food I ever had and I consider 4 stars to be next to that. This is a very small place, you can't really eat there, there is one small counter table and a couple of chairs on the wall for waiting. It is in a small strip mall in an area that you probably shouldn't walk around in at night, but the hoagies and cheese steaks are amazing. I know the area, and you will not get a better hoagie in Delaware. If you get fries ask for them well done. I hate to say it, but maybe give the pizza a pass. It is better than dominoes, but that isn't saying much. If you like carrot cake, try theirs. The staff is very friendly, and the customers are, well, colorful. But seriously, if you are in the area get a cheese steak.. They are really, really good. read more
