The presentation was terrible... the whole point of having a cater is that I do not have to worry about putting them on the trays and arranging food to look nice --absolutely not. I spent an hour and a half after I received all the boxes and put on my own trays because they looked awful. The contact service through their email was not very quick... They forgot something that I had ordered... And I have enough crackers that can last me for two more years, but I would've liked to have a little bit more cheese/pepp/veges/fruit on the tray besides the crostinis....The crab dip and other dip that I had ordered had big chunks of cream cheese in it so someone did not take the time to stir it up good enough, besides getting a tablespoon and a mouthful of cream cheese ..... the hot foods were given to us cold. Basically I could've just ripped open the box myself and just poured them on the cookie tray... cause that's what I had to do-I had to cook them and when I was on the phone, the girl told me to get them a half an hour later than I did because they were not gonna stay warm so I said OK and they still came cold. $800 later. Will never use them again..and will tell everyone about the awful catering job for my party I do every year. read more

I've been shopping at Bachetti's for 25 years. It is the best. We had them cater our daughter's wedding back in 2007. I don't even live in Newark anymore -- we moved to Wilmington -- but I go back to Bachetti's on a regular basis to get great salads and prepared meals, lunch meats, coleslaw, crab cakes, and New York strip steaks. We never go out to eat steak because Bachetti's is better when we cook it ourselves. Everyone is always friendly and super-competent. read more

Ordered 4 cold apps for a baby shower because the venue I hired told me that I could not prepare the food myself even though I am a trained chef and thought by the reviews I read it was a no brainer.l and it wasn't a supermarket. Anyway, $330 later, I was sooooo completely disappointed in the apps I ordered and no one ate them!!! Took em all home ..threw em away the next day. Waste of good money..im pissed..not cheap! One was overly salty, one was so bland and very very fishy..the charcuterie tray was not at all a traditional board we know and love...all the veggies were pickled ..like anti pasti and just didn't taste good... 2 apps really should have been served hot but was told it tasted great cold...NOPE...and omg i feel like there was more bread and crackers than necessary....super expensive cracker trays with a little dip! Never again....I make these dips and trays all the time and could have definitely done a better job....oh well...lesson learned... never had food that was made by an Italian deli taste this bad....stick to what ya know if your other stuff is as awesome as people posted....I highly doubt...sorry BB...epic fail in my book... I ordered 2 large trays of meatballs for a baby shower. I was going to buy at BJ's, but by the time I bought the meatballs, sauce, pans and spent the time, energy and anxiety of hoping they were hot enough, I thought I'd try Bachetti's. It was $6 each to receive the trays hot and it was well worth it. My husband picked up 2 trays of tasty, steaming hot meatballs and delicious sauce and some of the freshest club rolls I've had in a while (pre-cut for more convenience). I'll never go back to doing this on my own. Thank you, Bachetti's. And thanks to I want to say Joyce, I hope I have that right, who was so patient and helpful when I ordered in person only 3 days ahead. So I ordered the prepared meal to take to my son's house. Was not happy with the bland food! The sweet potatoes were literally dumped out of a can in a aluminum pan with marshmallows thrown on top. Not even cooked! The vegetables were not a choice and we received broccoli and baby carrots. I don't even like broccoli plus it was raw! The mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes. And the stuffing was soggy. I don't even think it was baked. The turkey was moist, but no basting or spices. For $250.00 I would expect better and was embarrassed to serve this terrible food to my son! Will not be coming back here again! read more

RJ searched all over for the largest chicken wings, and we have been getting them here for about a year. We cook them in the air fryer and they are huge and fantastic. This year we decided not to cook Christmas dinner and order from Bachetti Bros instead. I placed my order on 12/22 and made arrangements to pick it up Christmas Eve. Laura was friendly and let me know the servings were based on club rolls, but since I ordered steak rolls it would serve less. We ordered 5 lbs of roast beef with au jus, horseradish, coleslaw, and provolone and Swiss cheese. They had it all ready to go, and it was everything I dreamed it would be. The roast beef and horseradish were amazing and their deli pickles are the best I've ever had, the perfect amount of spice and crunch. I put the roast beef in my crockpot to heat and keep warm, and it was a breeze. I don't think I will ever cook on a holiday again. read more

It was hard to decide on a star rating for this store. What they do well is outstanding. Their sandwich counter is incredible. So many choices and they cut the meat a vegetables fresh when they make your sandwich. So delicious! Their Sauce and Meatballs and their Pasta Fagiole was delicious. All of these were 5 stars. The rest of the packaged meals were simply fair. The pork roast, pork chop and meatloaf was bland and tasteless. The chicken parmesan was just ok. The salads were average. The service was great. For the longest time I thought this place was just a butcher shop. Little did I know it's butcher, deli, grocery and dinner dream all in one!! Yes, it's a dream when I go in and can pick up a freshly made sausage with peppers and onions tray that I can just pop in the oven and have what is basically a fresh home-cooked (not frozen) meal. They have plenty of meals just like this too - from pasta dishes to chicken dishes to beef, all freshly made that day. They also have very fresh cuts of meat if you're looking to cook something yourself though. Plus they have a full deli area where you can get high quality pasta side salads as well as a plethora of unique sandwiches. Anyone who carries Scaramuzzas pasta is a step above for me! I tried their to-go container of mac and cheese, it was really cheesy, a kid favorite! Lunch meat displays are great, and the hoagies...let's just say, they remind me of the old corner shop hoagie joints in Philly. The smell, the fresh rolls, it's magical! I surfed the internet and Bachetti Bros popped up so I emailed even thought it said It would take a few days for a reply, I got an email the next morning from Laura. When I first started to take an interest in cooking this was one of my favorite places to shop. I would stroll down the isle and stare at the various sausages like Chorizo, Lingucia, and Andouille. These sausages are commonplace in the supermarket now, but there was a time when they weren't and Bachetti was the place to find them. Bachetti Brothers is billed as a gourmet meat and market. They have a lot of prepared foods. On the day I went they had prepared mac and cheese, chicken marsala, pasta and meatballs and many other dishes. This is idea on nights when one does not want to cook. They are also caterers. Not only can you taste some of their prepared food to the tast the quality of their cooking you can also step down stairs and see the various catering displays they have set up. In the freezer section, one will find frozen cakes, pastas, meats, and various stocks (including veal stock) that are made in house. Their deli section is top notch with a ton of options for lunchmeat. They have 50 different sandwiches on the menu for lunch and you can customize your sandwich. The lunch sandwiches come with a pasta salad and a desert. This is a nice place to shop for dinner or lunch. Give it a try if you are looking for something different from the norm. read more

We go here almost every Monday when I have drums. It's a wonderful place to get fresh sides; my grandma and I usually get the potato salad, macaroni salad, and cole slaw. Not only that, but they have one of the best quiches in the area!!! The crust tastes housemate plus the filling itself. As I'm an Italian girl from NY , good Italian delis are very hard to come by around here. Anytime I come to Delaware I usually bring my Italian goods from home. I tried a prosciutto & mozzarella sandwich from here and it was pretty good. Then I went really crazy and tried their meatball parm with provolone sandwich and I'm shocked at how good it was. Really disappointed with everything. They were and hour and a half late to my wedding reception. We're extremely rude when they arrived. The food was cold and poor quality. They took no responsibility for their lack of thoroughness. When I expressed that I was unhappy with the service the explained to me that they had assumed I wanted my food deliver to a diffrent location. They never once confirmed or checked with me about any of the information they had. I shouldn't have to hold the Bachetti Brothers hands and make sure they can do their jobs. read more
