She asked thoughtful questions and helped me finalize my menu, planning the correct amounts of food. They provided extra touches that meant a lot, displayed the food beautifully, and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. I can't say enough about how helpful they were. Angelica took all the worry out of planning and came through on everything I asked for. The chef worked around my request for vegan and vegetarian entrees. The event turned out to be everything I had hoped for, thanks to this great team. I highly recommend them.

She wanted a Cajun/Jamaican style menu but caterers specializing in that cuisine were few and far between. I called Mizuna and spoke to Angelica. I was back and forth a thousand times with requests and changes in such a short period of time. She never got irritated or upset and always got back to me promptly. At the end of the day we asked if they could use specific Cajun and Jamaican recipes from my own personal files. Without hesitation they agreed to do so, and while we were all holding our breath the food tasted DELICIOUS and was SPOT ON with the flavors. My friend was so happy with the outcome and almost 80 people ate it all and raved about how good it was. The presentation of the food was so beautiful. I can't believe I didn't take a photo of it. Now, let me tell you about their staff. They are BOMB! Mizuna's waitstaff, bartenders, etc. were simply awesome. Respectful, helpful, patient, and seemed so happy to be employed by them. I want to thank Mizuna Catering for coming through for us.

All of our guests raved about the quality of the food, and the servers and bartenders were extremely friendly and professional. Food was delicious. The day of the event the servers and bartenders arrived. The owner went through the specifications we asked for as requested in the contract. The service, food, servers were great. The downside was the bartenders. I specifically requestd and it was noted in the contract that the drinks be a low pour. I didn't want the bartenders filling wine to the top of the glass or pouring more then 1 shot per drink. This was reiterated at least 3 times and was written in the contract. I sent a drink list to the owner a week prior to the event. The day of the event I was surprised to see no one drinking the holiday martinis on the list that was sent over a week prior to the event. I was informed by my guest that the bartenders had no idea how to make a martini and they were told to make the drink with ice in a wine glass. They said a martini is never shaken? I bought all the supplies and alcohol to make the drinks I requestdd and I was disappointed to hear from my guests that the drinks made were undrinkable. I would give more stars if the bartending was as I requested in my contract.

    Toscana Catering - hand-rolled tortellini--a Toscana classic

I'm going to preface this review by saying I would not recommend this caterer. Toscana catered my…read morewedding, and every step of the way was difficult and the coordinator, Lori, was rude, and unaccommodating. Not only did she ask me the same questions at least three times and claim I did not answer them at least twice before, but when I got to the reception, everything we had confirmed over and over and over again was wrong. I drew a diagram by hand for how the tables needed to be set up, clearly demarcating where each table would go, clearly showing the orientation of the room, and when I arrived, not only was there an extra table just sitting empty, but the table arrangement was backwards. They flipped it so my family and grandparents were on the opposite side of the reception hall instead of next to my table. I was upset, I drew this diagram twice for them, it was very clear, the caterer even confirmed and sent me a diagram back matching the one I had drawn. We were told they'd have food from the cocktail hour for us in a separate room so we'd have something to eat after our photos. There was no food for us. So we went up to the reception to join the party hoping there would be something left. We were disappointed. We did not get to enjoy our cocktail hour food as we had been promised. They had started setting up a few hours prior to the reception and weren't finished when it started, they were still bringing many things into the hall for over an hour after it had begun, and when we went to finally eat, the food wasn't hot and halfway through calling tables up, they stopped calling numbers so people just sat for a while until they realized they weren't going to be called. When we went to cut the cake, we had discussed a cake stand, that was not present, we discussed having my cake knife ready to go, it was not. We discussed cake being bagged for people to take home at the end of the day, the cake was not bagged, and they asked me as I was getting ready to go to my hotel for the night what I wanted done with it. I asked them to bag it and slice it, and she goes, "Well it's a little late for that, so are you going to take it with you?" Excuse me? We discussed this. So they piled slices on a plate, and I do mean piled. Had I not been there, as I was leaving later than expected, about 40 minutes after the reception ended, Im not sure what would have been done with it. We paid for a vegan meal, I told them where the vegan guest was, confirmed with the coordinator two or three times, and he wasn't given a meal until my mother told them he hadn't received it yet, and led them to his table. They should have known which table he was at, as it was on the diagram and confirmed twice with the coordinator. She told me it would be a plate of veggies and pasta, it was just a small bowl of pasta I'm not even sure was vegan when they brought it out. We paid for that meal. I would very much like at the least a refund for that. Every step of the way something was wrong. I did not want that frustration on my wedding day. There is no excuse for this. These things are the very basics in this industry. I should not have had to think about any of this during my wedding reception. We paid far too much money, and dealt with far too much rudeness for that many things to have gone wrong. The only positive thing I have to say is, the food was good, it had very nice flavor. But it was cold, and the venue was only two minutes away from their restaurant. There is no reason it should have been cold. And for everything else that went wrong, that's not enough. Save yourself the frustration, and book someone else. Update: It's been nearly a week since I emailed Lori, the coordinator we worked with, to express my concerns about what happened during our reception and I have not heard anything back from her or anyone else at Toscana.

My sister worked with Toscana catering for her wedding. She is vegan, and both she and my brother…read moreare severely allergic to all nuts. She and her husband selected a menu that had some vegan items as well as some non-vegan ones for the day; this was done so she could comfortably eat anything she wanted on her wedding day without having to worry about contamination/cross contamination across any of the food, vegan or not. The importance of no nuts in ANYTHING, vegan or otherwise, was highlighted and impressed upon Lori numerous times throughout the planning process. On the day of the wedding, the eggplant bites they had chosen came out with regular, dairy cheese on them. When the desserts were presented, the chocolate custards they ordered came with whipped cream and HALF A CANDIED WALNUT on top. After finding someone to remove them from the table I brought this up to Lori, who cast the blame on the staff even though she was supposedly in charge, saying that because these were not part of the vegan items selected by the bride and groom, "they thought it would be fine." Lori was also clearly less than thrilled about having to supply a vegan menu. Suffice to say, if you have any dietary restrictions, preferred diets, or allergies, Toscana is not where you should take your business.
