this store on kirkwood highway by seasons pizza across from casino entrance.. the staff of ladies who took great care of me. 2 sandwiches. for my wife in nursing home and myself.. and ripley.. when i left the store i asked ladies if they had breyers natural vanilla.. young lady told me she need a man to lift other products 1 pallet on top of another. i understand . she was petite in size..when i returned for ripley and mine dinner a male employee was in the store manager in training.. ( needs alot of work in many ways. especially in customer relations..). i asked if the ice cream was available.. he took my deli order for cold cuts...did it perfectly.. when i asked about the ice cream. cannot put out for sale.. other different brands laying loose in freezer. not organized.. has to sell out before he put out breyers. product was turkey hill which has great ice cream also.. i use breyers natural vanilla for milk shakes to eat up stomach acids.. ladies told me outside he chronic late for shift always.. he has issues.. there was no turkey hill vanilla for sale.. it seems they are a great team helping each other out.. after he finished cutting my cold cuts perfectly. but his verbial interaction was raw and arrogant.. he turned to scrape the grill which lady cleaned 5 minutes before . then stood around .. orders were clipped over grill was 6 deep.. customers waiting for their sandwiches.. only 1 woman was busting her butt.. he just looked around read more

For a small unassuming shop they have surprisingly great sandwiches. I was passing through after a family visit and was famished so swung in. I had THE BEST egg salad ever. II Love this Country Maid until today. This "Lady" who waited on me was rude, acted like she was annoyed just being there and I was an inconvenience. Told me I was to tell her only what I didn't want on my sub and she has worked their for over 30 years and how it was done by her and everyone else. Really I have never ordered that way before and been treated so poorly. I have been going there for over 30 years (use to work at National 5&10 so tells you how long I have been going there) and have never had the "pleasure" of dealing with her until now. I was ordering 4 large subs so took a while to do. Even one of the other emploees notice her atitude and said if it was so hard stop taking orders until these were done. When I'm working at one of our locations in Newark, I make it a point to stop by Country Maid for a hot roast beef sandwich (with cheddar cheese and hot pepper spread). This is a no frills deli, which is awesome. The service is quick (definitely be courteous and don't be on a cell phone when ordering - I've seen them skip people on their phones and they have a sign saying they'll do so), they use quality ingredients, and the sandwiches are ready in a few minutes.
