I was nervous and excited to visit. I lived nearby over 30 years ago and Somerdale Cold Cuts was a favorite. We went 45 minutes out of our way and it was with it. The turkey and cheese hoagie I purchased on 7/5/2025 was not up to the previous standards at Somerdale Cold Cuts. It was apparent from looking at the sandwich that they are skimping on the cold cuts. the hoagie was disappointing. I don't think I will return to this store. read more

Teetering on 5 stars! I felt like I was cheating on G&M's in Runnemede - grew up there! Every Saturday my dad would come home with a big brown bag of fresh cut deli goodies and rolls. It's a great and delicious memory :) They still go there. In fact, a pork roast is being ordered for Christmas. This store has killer hours. Stopped in after picking up the kids around 5:30 p.m. - first time customer! Open until 8 pm on a Sunday?!! Woo hoo - no dreaded Shoprite trip for me!!! Typical awesome Italian deli, complete with your Entemanns, circus peanuts, and family pictures! I got assorted rolls, freshly cut Clearfield American cheese, roasted turkey AND homemade chili and ice-cream sandwiches. YUM! I didn't realize CASH ONLY. Yay to an ATM that only charges $1.60! This was my first time trying out Somerdale Cold Cuts. I went in to get prices on their party trays, ordered for pick up the next day. Tray was ready even before the pickup time and wrapped perfectly with the onions, oil, mayo on the side. Great service, and great sandwiches. They were a major hit at my son's birthday party. When you walk in this place if you didn't Order a hoagie I feel like your going to before you walk out. It smells sooooo good in there. The staff is so nice and you can see that they know many of their customers by name. Nice mom and pop kinda shop. My five stars is for the staff as well as their hoagies. Sooo good! This place kind of brings a tear to my eyes... Well, maybe I'm exaggerating a little. But it reminds me of the deli's from my childhood. The unmistakable smell of fresh made sandwiched hits you the minute that you open the door. The deli has plenty of lunch meats and cold salads. The store is stocked with plenty of groceries, snacks, and candy. While the sandwiches could have afforded to have more meat on it, it was a good tasting and satisfying sandwich. I come here so much I'll probably just pitch a tent and live here. When I went away for college, this was my #1 request that I must have when I visit. And now that I'm back in the area, it's like a once a week visit. NEVER EVER disappointed. I don't even know where to start. The service is friendly. The rolls are heavenly. The meat and cheese is fresh, tasty, and they are so generous with it! And sandwhiches aside, have you had the meatballs?!! MY GOD. They only make them on Tuesdays I believe, so we pick some up and do pasta or meatball subs for dinner. They are the best meatballs on the planet, besides the ones your Italian great grandmother makes in Rome I'm sure. OH, and if you're weird like me and enjoy liverwurst, they have the best. I actually can't eat liverwurst from anywhere else now because they all taste like crap in comparison. But I'm sure you're all reading this to see if they skimp ya on the meat... and NO, they do not. I say legendary because SCC has been around for over 40 years and is still happily serving tasty hoagies and cold cuts to the area. Let's begin with the customer service. This deli is family owned and it shows. You come here enough and your name will be remembered. It's service with a smile and you can tell that they really care that you're satisfied. I can't say that I've felt the same way at a Jersey Mike's or a Subway (it's been a while and I'm ok with that). Let's just say that hoagies are everywhere in this part of the state. There's some subpar ones, pretty good ones and really great ones. Somerdale Cold Cuts falls somewhere in between pretty good and really great. If you're looking for quality, well then you've come to the right place. Fresh baked rolls, Dietz and Watson cold cuts, and everything else you could want from a deli including snacks and drinks. In other words, for a small price of less than $10, you can walk away with a tasty hoagie, chips and a drink. Now, that sounds like a bargain. I also gotta give them credit for their hours. They are open 8:00am-8:30pm 7 days a week. They are cash only but have an ATM on the premises. I can't say this is the best hoagie I've ever had. Personally, I like a harder (sometimes seeded) roll, but it still packs quite a punch. If you're in the neighborhood, Somerdale Cold Cuts is surely worth a visit. read more

I have never had a problem with Somerdale Cold Cuts until today. I would like to announce Somerdale Cold Cuts doesn't charge for lettuce, tomatoes, and onion. They charge for the roll. Bought two sandwiches turkey with swiss hoagie and a tuna sandwich on a long roll because my god son doesn't like the garnish. Thought I'd save money. My hoagie $9.29 His tuna sandwich cost $9.69 Told me it was because it is on a long roll. The kicker is the owner, Bob told me the tuna cost more because it is on a long roll. Since when does a sandwich cost more than a hoagie with everything on it but peppers? So I guess the turkey and swiss cheese is .29 and the tuna is .69. The long roll have to be $9. In the cases they are a $1.50 but I guess the ones they use to make the sandwiches cost more? If my god son wasn't with me I would have left both sandwiches there. read more

We ordered 3 full size hoagies, 3 containers of rice pudding, and I container of Italian wedding soup. The roll came out of a bag and was tough, there wasn't a sufficient amount of meat in those hoagies, the rice pudding was disgusting. This place is the classic old school local deli!! You walk in you immediately get hit with the aroma of sweet onions!! The hoagie selection is always great and if you want you can get double meat on them. I always get the double meat Italian that goes for $9.00. They only use Dietz and Watson meats so you cant go wrong. The sell all kinds of prepared goodie that you can take home and cook later. I've always seen Somerdale Cold Cuts as a reliable staple in Somerdale. It's never a bad choice for a fulfilling lunch or a quick dinner. I've never really encountered a line there and the ingredients taste fresh and of good quality. I really enjoy their chicken salad. Many sides and drinks available, as it doubles as a mini mart. The hoagies were big and employees all very nice. Small amount of veggies along with usual smart deli groceries. Fridge is full of home made gravy, meatballs, soups etc. so we will be coming back to try them along with the usual suspects in the hoagie school. I'm really surprised there aren't any reviews for this long existing place. It is a staple of my childhood and a part of my very early memories. The staff is very familiar with its regulars and families in the neighborhood. They provide great service, and I've never had any issues here. I have probably been here at least a hundred times. They offer really fresh cold cuts and hoagies. The hoagies are made on white rolls only, with any assortment of meats and cheeses. They have tuna salad, although they lack egg salad. There are containers of potato salad and such available as well. There is a small grocery area that has pantry items and small household needs. There are a lot of snack items like chips and packaged sweets. There are always loose fresh rolls to select from as well. They have a refrigerated section with assorted beverages and milk. Best hoagie in the SJ area arguably and I've tried plenty of places. Made perfectly every single time. I literally can't complain. I think the ONE time I had a hoagie that wasn't good was when an older man (like a UFO sighting here) made my sandwich and it was soggy and watery. Otherwise, one of the ladies always makes your food and you are satisfied. I have come here and so has my family for decades. I love the smell when you walk in. And there is plenty of snacks and meats to choose from. Most of the women here are friendly, the owner Johnny, I think is his name is friendly as well but there is a young girl and 1 older woman who aren't as warm and always kinda just stare or are standoffish whenever I come.
