We were having family over for dinner and wanted something different. Okay, I did see the mixed reviews and decided to give it a try. Placed our order at 11:00 AM for a 5:00 PM pick up. I ordered three pizzas: Upside down, White & Pepperoni. Ordered three sandwiches: One chicken steak, two beef steak. Wings: two orders. For starters we loved the wings - crispy and meaty and not at all greasy. The pizzas were also a hit. The thin crispy crust was great and cooked just right. All of them were delicious but our favorite was the pepperoni. The cheesesteaks - wow!! Seriously the BEST cheesesteaks in town. You can taste the cheese in every single bite. The sandwiches were loaded with chicken or beef and the seeded roll was fresh. The only thing that could have been better? The pizza temperature. Oddly, when we arrived home (about 10 minutes later), the pizzas weren't hot? The wings and the cheesesteaks were both perfect. Ordering and pick up was a breeze. The staff were friendly and the food was very good. Our only regret is that we haven't tried this place sooner! We will definitely be back. Hopefully the pizza will be hot. read more

This place has been on my list for a while, was especially excited to try their Detroit, what they've been known for for quite a few years. Place was pretty cool inside, old school vibes with the flooring, wall posters, and even video games. Had to wait about twenty minutes for a table for three, not a big deal, as it was a Friday night and somewhat expected. Prices were a little high, but not crazy. Service was good, food came out fairly quickly. Ordered a couple of pizzas, steak sandwich and fries. Round pizza was decent. Detroit was underwhelming, and was really hard to eat. It was very difficult to get off of the screen, very sloppy, not a lot of crisp-was really hoping for a better pie. Steak sandwich was fine-roll was decent, meat was seasoned, but didn't really set itself apart. I will say the bar area had a really good vibe, and I could maybe see myself returning for a couple of drinks and maybe some apps. Wish I could give a three and a half, but unfortunately it didn't really earn a four for me. read more

I've tried Nick's three times. I've attempted to try Nick's five times. Twice, I called and the wait time was longer than I wanted, so I canceled my order. I've come to expect the wait time as a necessary evil. The food is top notch. Their cheesesteak is the best in the area. I am a fan of John's Roast Pork in Philly and it's the closest thing I've found to that. I love the sesame seed roll and they'll do Cooper Sharp cheese. I've also had the Detroit style pizza. The sauce, toppings, and cheese are all high quality and well proportioned. So, as others have said, they're not the quickest. Just budget in about 30-40 for your order to be fulfilled. Different cheesesteak #1131 in the last five years. Drinks and Cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. Spoiler alert; this may be Delaware's top cheesesteak. It passed the weight and eye test. We got a cheesesteak with mushrooms. The mushrooms and onions added very good flavor. Very good amount of cheese. The cheese was melted nicely throughout the cheesesteak. Good amount of good meat. I like a crustier roll. This did sit in the car while we did an errand and drove to Wilmington Brew Works. We got a pizza. Detroit style is its own style and I think I liked it. read more

What in the world are people standing in line for hours for?? We finally were able to order online for a pizza from the new Marsh Road location. Basic/nothing special is how I would describe the pizza which we ordered early, went to pick up an hour and a half later but wasn't ready (or even started) so had to wait another 45 min for. Very limited toppings to choose from, crust nothing special except it was fully cooked which is rare in the pizza world. Hate to say it but I won't be back. Wilmington is a food desert as far as good food and this restaurant has not changed that fact. read more

This is the best pizza. The crust is chewy and crispy. The sauce is fresh and a bit zesty/tangy. High quality toppings. There are no short cuts in the quality of their ingredients. They must have an amazing pizza oven tucked in the back - I have not had pizza that tasted this good since I moved here from New Haven, CT. You will find a burnt spot here and there on your pizza. Consider yourself lucky when you discover one. It's the best part. They must use a coal or wood oven. I am not sure. In any case, the burnt spots taste great. Do keep in mind, Nick's is in that awkward phase where they are a tiny business growing rapidly in popularity. The person that told me about it warned me about how busy they get and how wait times and customer service can suffer. So, I went in prepared to tolerate inconveniences I might not tolerate at a larger, more established place. I called in my order - I arrived when they told me to and I waited an extra few minutes. No problem. I will be returning soon. Next time, I will try their Detroit style pizza. read more

Went here today for the first time. I'm conflicted on the rating though. First let me talk about the experience. We walked in at 4:05 to place an order and were told the wait would be about 45 minutes. We've heard such positive things and thought that was a good sign so we said "sure" and took a quick trip to Target around the corner. We got back at 4:45 and the food wasn't ready. In fact, it wasn't ready until 5:20. So we waited another 35 minutes from the time we got back until the time it was ready. While we waited, the waiting area was freezing, literally. There was no heat. So experience wasn't great. Now let's talk about food. For starters the fries were luke warm to cold. Since we were literally standing there waiting, there is no excuse for this. The cheesesteaks were very good though. It's a high quality meat, and the cooper sharp cheese they use adds a really nice flavor. Also, the rolls are soft and fresh and have sesame seeds which also adds a nice touch. They've only been open about 3-4 months though so maybe all of this is opening pains. But we also heard stories while we were there (like one woman who placed an order at noon for a 415 pickup and that order also wasn't ready until 5:20 or a story about someone who placed an advance order and then they ran out of ingredients while filling other orders that came in after but were immediate pickup orders). I think I'd have to give it some time before going back and trying it again or maybe trying it at a non-prime time. read more

Had a great cheesesteak. Plenty of meat and cheese with the cheese thoroughly mixed in. To me this is more of a Philly style cheesesteak as the meat is sliced thicker than you typically would find in DE and it's on a crusty seeded roll. Personally I prefer the steak sliced thinner but this was still very good. This is only the second time I've had a seeded roll and I'm kind of on the fence on them. Pro's are they add another layer of flavor with the seeds and the rolls hold up to even the messiest sandwiches without falling apart. The slight con for me is that they are definitely a lot chewier. I highly recommend checking them out! Just an FYI it's basically take out only as there is only one very small table inside. read more

Would love to support a new local business, and I've heard great things, but our first experience resulted in a canceled order. We called earlier in the morning to schedule pickup for 6:30 to fit into our busy day. Just got a text asking to move our order to 5:30, no reason given - they're supposedly open until 8. Not the world's biggest problem, of course, and they were polite enough. Not a great first impression, though. Giving an extra star for the attentive woman on the phone this morning. Maybe they're working out kinks, but I'll wait for Nick's to develop their service model before we try again. Will continue picking up from Bardea on the way home from the office. read more

I've eaten here several times now. The Detroit pizza is honestly the best pizza I've ever had. The ingredients are high quality, and generous. We've also tried their cheesesteak and a special they had for an eggplant park sandwich. Both were a 10/10. The fries were subpar the first time I got them (not very warm and a bit floppy), but they were much better last time. Perfectly crispy and seasoned. They seem like they're hand cut, but I'm not positive. To give my honest feedback, sometimes they run out of things. I couldn't understand the cheese sauce, but with the dough, I think it's higher quality and takes days to prepare. And pretty much every time, you're going to wait. Sometimes longer than expected. But other than the one time with the fries, the food is always hot. And you have to give credit where credit is due. The guy is super young and has some kinks to work out. It's a new business. I follow his socials, and he's always doing charity work, helping out fellow businesses, and even does things like offering to give people dough for free to bake at home along with instructions. He's also taken feedback (changed hours), and already bought a bigger oven to better serve wait times. In my mind, the food alone is so delicious that I'm willing to deal with a wait. But they're good people and I've always received courteous service. Definitely worth trying if you haven't already. read more

We found this business on instagram. We like to try different restaurants. We always try stuff we see on social media. Tonight we chose Nick's. The first impression was a little shaky due to how Brian came off to us in the beginning. I didn't expect for him to tell me they were out of ingredients the way that he told me. We weren't very confident in continuing our order. Brian then told us that we won't be disappointed in ordering anything else that was available. Lexi was very pleasant in taking our order. The initial wait time for our food to be prepared was an hour. Which ended up being 45 minutes. The food came out hot. Both pizzas were delicious, and the cheesesteak was excellent. We will come back!! Highly recommend ordering ahead of time. It's a small business so parking is compact. There's also not a lot of seating in the waiting area. But definitely check them out!
