    Toppings not distributed well

New place so I expected some hiccups. Excited to try the pizza and the cheesesteaks. Let's start with the pizza. We ordered a white pizza with ricotta and spinach. This one surprised me how much I liked it. It had a briney, garlicky taste. Overall this was very good and would give this a 4. Also ordered a Sicilian pie with pepperoni and meatballs. This was an epic fail. When you look at my pics you'll see how one whole quarter of the pie lacked any toppings. The part with toppings was good. Sorry this was a 2.5. Pizza with scarcity of toppings is unacceptable. Cheesesteak was very good. In house made bread was good. Meat was tasty. Was not stuffed with meat but tasted good. 3.5 I probably will give it another chance but will wait. The inside reminded me of Pappys on 202 back in the day ( late 1970s). It was a pleasant feel.

Fun themed pizza joint that brought me back to my childhood.! Service was a little slow, but it was a busy night. Waitress was nice and apologized when my sister's pizza was made with dairy. Unfortunately that took a long time to remake. Would return to try some other options.

Love the atmosphere inside -- even though it's usually crowded as heck, the retro vibe is super fun. Detroit pizza was tasty but since I literally tried Detroit pizza *in* Detroit a couple weeks back, it's not quite the same. Tomato pie is fantastic, the sesame seeds really add a lot. Staff has always been friendly. Will definitely return.

New location for the same ole pie's from Nick. They just opened a few weeks ago and are still working out some kinks. They were out of all pastas and cheesesteaks by 8pm on Sunday Pizzas here are good but I need to lay off the Detroit styled pies before I crack a dental filling Antipasto here is good, it just tastes so healthy and looks so colorful to me. Next time I come here I need to ask if they can get me a root beer float in a pitcher. One glass is never enough Bar area is packed! Mostly by people who want to eat but couldn't get seated at a table. 5 or so arcade game consoles in the back for extra nostalgia Overall good execution by the team. I'll have to come back again to try the pasta

I've tried Nicks when it was in Newport and loved it! We went to the new location on week 3 of opening and were a bit disappointed. They were out of a few things (which was disappointing but understandable). The Caesar salad wasn't very good at all.. not enough dressing and kind of just looked like a grocery store bag salad. The cheesesteaks are definitely one of the best I've ever tried though. The restaurant itself is so cute, love the vintage vibes. Service was a tab slow but it was also jam packed so again, understandable.

Have been wanting to visit Nicks since they opened . Finally visited from Smyrna Delaware today. Omg everything was so good. The pizza crust and steak rolls were out of this world. Met family there today and was worth the 45 minute drive. Service was very good!

Hands down the best cheesesteak I have ever had. That sandwich alone would bring me back every time I'm in Wilmington. The service was friendly and conversational at the bar. Pizza was also great. This was the best meal I've had in Delaware over the last six years.

    Great touch!

My wife and daughter and I started our Father's Day weekend celebration by finally checking out the new addition to the Wilmington scene. The reputation and reviews had been impressive, so we were excited to finally get there. The former place that was in the space, Ulysses Gastropub, was a long time fave of both of ours with lots of wonderful and special family memories, and while the physical space is laid out the same, the nostalgic feel and and little touches really help Nick's to stand out. The quotes, movie and music posters, even the baseball cards around the frames of the doors are really cool. We got there earlyish on Friday evening, and were seated immediately. Things got busy quickly as we were enjoying our meal, but the service was great and the food came out perfectly, both time and preparation wise. Our server, Makayla (sp?), was fabulous. Friendly, good recommendations, attentive but gave us our space and certainly never made us feel rushed. Great beer list, with unique and cool craft beer options and an impressive international array available in bottles and cans. Well done! Cocktails looked good, next time! We started with the Cooper Sharp Sticks and the Garlic Knots. The Cooper Sharp sticks were a delicious and smart upgrade from your average Mozzarella sticks, and the garlic knots were like beautiful little homemade biscuits. They were not light and airy like a normal knots, and we enjoyed them. My daughter had fettuccine alfredo with chicken, and she really enjoyed it. My beautiful wife had the thin crust traditional with pepperoni & hot honey - a triumph. I went with the Detroit style with sausage, mushrooms and onions, and it was absolutely incredible. We all brought home leftovers, and all three of us are excited to get back and enjoy another meal sooner as opposed to later. Desserts looked great, also for next time! Highest possible recommendation - run, don't walk. What a fabulous meal - thanks you so much!

My first two were excellent, the third not so much. I've had an old world Italian hoagie and a roast beef hoagie, had the mini size and both were jam packed with delicious ingredients. There was a time I could have eaten the largest size, which is 3 times the size of the mini, but as an old man the mini was perfect. My most recent visit I ordered a regular size kielbasa with sauerkraut, which for most of the sandwiches would be like the medium size, for the kielbasa is was the smallest they offered. Well, I should have asked for the kraut on the side because when I got home the nice Aversa's roll was soggy, my fault there. On the other hand the kielbasa tased like Hillshire Farm mass produced crap. When the guy got it from the refrigerated cooler where they keep the deli meats he carried it with both hands in a manner as to hide the package it was in, I thought it was odd at the time but didn't think any more about it, until I got home and realized why. While waiting for my sandwich, I saw what looked like 'real' kielbasa in with the deli meats so I was very disappointed when I went to enjoy the sandwich only to have the taste and texture to like be a glorified hot dog. Overall I like the place, the prices and hoagies are great. But, I now know not to order anything but the hoagies here.

We were sat and it took probably 15 min to get drinks on the table. I could tell the people around us were antsy ... it took nearly an hour to get our food, and a table that was there well before us still hadn't been served. There were multiple points when one of the waitresses was heard cussing in the kitchen. The brisket cheesesteak was honestly one of the greatest things I've ever had ... but the mac and cheese was the most bland boring and since all sides are an $8 extra that was upsetting. We asked for the check, the server only brought over a handheld machine to swipe the card ... I asked for a receipt after, come to find out they charged us $12 for both of our sides not $8. I asked why and seemed like that was a problem - the manager (?) seemed really irritated I asked for a refund on the overcharge. We're not local and wouldn't be back, but wouldn't recommend eating-in to anyone based on the service either.

Chicken cheese steaks are phenomenal too! The place is clean and efficient. Their Italian hoagie is pretty good as well. Last time I was a bit disappointed at my 1st time trying the "Delco Nostra" hoagie. It didn't have a lot of meat on it and was very salty (dry cured meats used) but I guess that should be expected. I would like to suggest to management that to be more authenticate and appetizing looking (& of course for what they are charging) they would use sliced red onions on the hoagies and not the same diced white onions used for the grill. They also make a mess when they fall out of the hoagie and all over your clothes while eating. At a pricey $8, the onion rings are mostly fried cornmeal. They need to switch to a higher quality beer batter onion ring instead if they are going to ask this price. The occasionally offered Maryland Crab soup has very little crab or taste IMHO. Tucked away in the Painters Crossing shopping center, it's a place where the portion sizes are legendary and the authentic flavor of the region is built into every bite. While the "Delco" name is found elsewhere, this specific Chadds Ford location opened in 2006 and has spent nearly two decades perfecting the art of the massive sandwich. It's a classic, no-nonsense counter-service joint where the focus is entirely on the quality of the build--starting with the bread. They don't just win local popularity contests; they are consistently ranked among the top tier in the entire Delaware Valley, earning "Best of" accolades for their commitment to traditional techniques. The Cheesesteaks: These are frequently cited as the largest cheesesteaks in Delaware County. They use a mountain of finely chopped, high-quality ribeye and, most importantly, they serve them on seeded rolls (often sourced from legendary South Philly bakeries like Sarcone's). The combination of the crispy, sesame-studded crust and the gooey Cooper Sharp cheese is widely considered a "best-in-class" experience. The Hoagies: Their hoagies are built with the same reverence for tradition. The Italian hoagie is a standout, featuring thin-sliced premium meats and fresh produce. The "Large" is essentially the size of a human forearm--definitely enough for two meals (or one very ambitious lunch). If you're in the Brandywine Valley and want an authentic, award-winning meal, this is the place to go.
