Most reviews start off with food... all of mine have. Here I digress. This place is clean!! Like eat off the floor clean. 5 stars before I even received the food. I also snuck a peek at the kitchen..of course spotless. When you do things well, you do everything well. The coffee...match the name. What else did you expect! They should have called it the perfect cup and grill cafe. Because everything that came off the grill was really delicious. Eggs over easy, scrapple and some fantastic specialty rye toast. I'm so sorry to say this but the two drinks we got (the espresso con panna and tiramisu cold brew) did not taste good at all. The espresso was definitely burnt to all hell and the cold brew was so watered down. The tiramisu cold foam that came on the cold brew was the only saving factor. We also originally ordered the affogato which is written on the menu and were looked at crazy and told they don't make those. Which is fine but why is it on the menu? read more

I understand that Saturday mornings are busy at breakfast places but it took 45 minutes to get french toast and waffles and when we got them they were ice cold. The food was coming out so slowly that people were irritated. This happened to us last time, but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Never again. Went in last week with a gift card from 2 years ago- 8 months pregnant with my two year old. Decided to finally use the card and have a fun breakfast date. After ordering the woman at the counter tells me that they switched systems and that they no longer take the kind of gift cards I have. I tell her that's illegal, she just shrugs. I've worked in restaurants my entire adult life and I've never heard of this.... So I end up carrying my screaming toddler out because no way I'm giving my money to a place that doesn't honor or at least transfer over gift cards/certificates. Horrible experience. I've only been a few times and it always seemed overrated to me but now I most certainly will never return and will never recommend. Edit- the gift card was not from 4 years ago. Everything should have been transferred over from previous owners even for people that have them from 4 years ago.... I went in here this morning. Tried to order the pour over service coffee (Japanese style). It's listed on the marker board menu. So they rung me up and then a minute later told me that nobody knows how to make that. wtf? I asked what can you make on that menu, she said we have coffee and espresso. Again ... wtf ? Fantastic meal. Snicker doodle coffee was genuinely tasty. Mexican blend coffee was as well. Turkey club sandwich was delicious. Super tasty rustic bread, perfectly toasted. Crispy fresh lettuce as well with thick cuts of fresh turkey and plump tomatoes. Also had a fluffy omelette that was delicately cooked to French standards. Filled with a melty sharp cheese with sizzled bacon, beautifully seasoned sausage, and fresh spinach. Once again, the bread at this place is way above what you might expect from a breakfast place. Nicely buttered and toasted with care. It elevated the meal. I would recommend this establishment to a friend and will undoubtedly be coming back. Beautiful artisan tables as well. read more

This is an amazing small business owned coffee shop and bistro. The store itself is clean, open and very comfortable. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful making decisions. From the moment, I walked in, I was a bit shocked. There was very little of the peaceful, quaint, coffeeshop vibe that one usually is seeking when they Google "coffee shops near me." Instead, a wave of breakfast food smells hit me in the face (in a tepid, unpleasant kind of way) and I instantly regretted wearing my nice coat, because it would 100% be drenched olfactorily with the scent of eggs and bacon after sitting in such a poorly-ventilated place for my lunch date. The cashiers and baristas were very friendly and helpful, but I could barely focus on the menu due to the chaotic environment (tables haphazardly scrambled around the room, with mismatched colors and chairs) and again, the overpowering poor ventilation. I ordered a "Blondie," which was supposed to be "less sweet" but in fact came out tasting like a Friendly's milkshake; hardly what I would call an espresso drink. Moreover, it was a whooping 4.65 for the smallest size (I ordered almond milk, but still). Finally, the people running the place were simply not wearing masks. One lady who I assume was the chef, walked up to bring us our breakfast burrito with her mask fully under her nose, and towards closing time, when the owner came up to us to remind us, he fully was not wearing a mask at all. Nor was his (I assume) teenage son, who was lounging around without a mask the entire time. I was shocked and will not be returning, unfortunately. read more

This place is wonderful. The food is delicious and the coffee is good, low-acid too for sensitive stomachs like mine. They pre-butter your toast for you and it's perfect. Scrambled eggs are nicely done as well. I would recommend the perfect pick me up cup, it gets me going without hurting my stomach. They also sell some delicious chocolate chunk cookies which I usually get to go for a sweet lunch addition. Their omelets are also delicious, and it has a nice quiet, friendly environment, so it's perfect for anyone looking for a locally owned coffee shop to get some weekend work done at. I come here regularly. The owners seem friendly and involved in the community. I wish I could come here more often-- It really is perfect. read more

While we had quite the wait at both the order/check-out line and for our food to be prepared, the quality of the eats gave them enough of an edge to secure a solid 4-star rating. Arriving a bit before one on Sunday, we found a short line at the counter to order. Never having been, I welcomed the time to study the menu and saw a few pleasant options. After pondering a few specialty sandwiches, we decided on the Shelby (with pasta salad) and a Reuben (with cucumber salad). Once we ordered, we were quickly able to seat ourselves. As I hinted, the food did take some time to arrive. We were hungry and dug right in. The chicken and bacon on the Shelby was generous and very tasty. The Reuben was grilled crispy and balanced. I'm never one to go crazy over sides, but the pasta salad was pretty amazing and the cucumber salad was simple yet unique. As we didn't quite finish our sandwiches, I can also add that they tasted just fine for a late night snack! Net - Great food, especially if you have time to wait. Do you like cooked breakfast? You'd better, as the extremely poor ventilation in the Cafe ensures you'll come out smelling of whatever taking place in the kitchen. This morning - bacon and eggs. I had to change all of my clothing after this morning's visit. The latte's and hot chocolate were excellent, though very slow in coming. so we waited and all the time our clothing soaked in whatever was in the air (not good). Sadly, we'll not be returning until we've heard they've solved the ventilation issue. We love to support local business, but..... Been my favorite breakfast stop for years, friendly staff and great service!

I see a lot of reviewers on here excusing the absolutely atrocious treatment of staff the owner/manager puts on display for the entire diner full of customers. The only reason this place isn't getting a 1 star review from me is because the food is delicious, made with the blood sweat and tears of the mistreated and publicly humiliated staff.  That I can't sit in peace in this establishment and have a conversation with friends and family without having to hear her emotionally abusive tirades utterly destroys whatever positive experience the food might bring. It's never about something important either, she's always screaming at them over minutae. It's evident that they don't like working for her because they all look so enormously unhappy. There is a severe lack of self awareness going on here - I am glad to see a staff member addressing these comments but I don't think folks fully realize how destructive this is for the image of the business. You can communicate effectively without your blood pressure going through the roof, you don't need to spoil our meals. As you can see, MOST people don't appreciate eating in this environment so you can't just say "Well, some people don't mind it." I'm dissapointed to see so many folks gloss over this glaring elephant in the room, because it's not as if it's an intermittent thing; it's EVERY TIME I VISIT. It's come to the point that, going forward? I'm not eating here. You've lost a customer because you can't understand that you're not Chef Gordon Ramsay... you're the owner of a small coffee / sandwich shop. Be humble. Treat your staff with dignity and respect. You've lost a customer for life until you issue a statement saying you're aware of this consistent feedback and are willing to change. I never leave reviews on Yelp but this place needed one from me. In my experience this is the only place to eat I've eaten at that genuinely deserves a full fledged negative Yelp review for something like this. read more

I have driven past this place a million times and never realized it was there. Then we got a recommendation and decided to try it out on a weekday lunch. The food was delicious and the menu had such a wide variety (way more than you would normally find at a regular café). This is a family owned business and you get that kind of special attention you will never find at a chain place. Then I returned for breakfast on the following Saturday and my daughter and I were wowed by delicious food and coffee. Totally recommend it!!! read more

The Perfect Cup was the Perfect Place at the Perfect Time! All I wanted this morning was a good latte and something for breakfast and I ended up with the best oatmeal I've had in a long time! I've never seen this before: you get to choose what kind of milk they make it with and add 3 toppings from a list of 20 or so (I chose 2% milk, walnuts, almonds, and brown sugar) and it was ridiculously delicious! For a little place with a café type ambience The Perfect Cup is my cup of tea for impromptu casual breakfast, brunch or lunch. The new owners have kept the same framework but they've put their own touch with excellent quality food. Their fresh squeezed lemonade hits the spot on a hot day with the correct tart to sweet balance & there's no doubt it was made with fresh hand squeezed lemons! All 4 sandwiches were fantastic from the ubiquitous egg salad sandwich to the turkey, chicken & rueben selections we ate. The sides of coleslaw & cucumber salad were refreshingly crisp.
