Stopped in for breakfast and ordered an iced coffee and it was very good. For breakfast we ordered the veggie omelet, scrambled eggs with home fries, sausage and toast. The food came out fast and it was delicious. I loved the home fries, they were crunchy and not a bit greasy. The staff is very friendly and were always checking on us. This is in such a nondescript spot inside a strip mall--but, boy, do they show UP! We picked this place as a meet up based just on its general location and great reviews. I'm so glad we did. The food was classic diner food done really, really, really well--we ordered brunch and everyone was thrilled with their meals. The portions were on point and the execution of each dish was just perfectly spot on. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside (which is just tables looking onto the parking lot). My only complaint was there were consistently non-diner workers outside taking smoke breaks that wafted over, which wasn't pleasant...but not the restaurant's fault at all (just worth noting that you may want to sit inside if that sort of thing bothers you). read more

I have been wanting to try this place for SO LONG, and I finally convinced my one friend to come with me. The service was excellent. Everybody was so kind to us and did whatever they could to give us a great dining experience. Now onto the food: I was a bit skeptical of the chilaquiles, mainly because the only time I've ever had them, were in Mexico and I am very picky with my chilaquiles. I like to order them with red sauce usually, but they were all out so I got salsa verde instead. The green sauce does not look as appealing in my opinion, but the flavor was amazing! I also got to try some of my friend's arepas, and they were also very tasty! I wouldn't mind coming back to Cafe Americana to try more of their menu items! read more

We came on the 4th of July so it was quick busy but they were well organized and still got our food out quickly. The food was fantastic. Honestly the best "classic breakfast" I've had in a long time. This place used to be great but it's just not now. Food is fine, staff is friendly but the portions are tiiiiiny and the prices are insane for what you get. We came for breakfast (2 adults and 2 kids) and somehow had a $70 bill (with tip) for what felt like a miniature diner meal that should have been $40. We won't be going back again. read more

This is my favorite breakfast place in Kennett Square. It is open every morning and you can choose to sit outside where trains sometimes pass by which are very close. The best choices are French toast, pancakes, and omelettes. The first two optionally come with fruits which are always fresh. The staff is consistently cheerful and friendly and they will remember you from your previous visits. This is a nice spot in Kenneth Square to eat at. We had brunch here. It wasn't very crowded thankfully and we got a table around noon without issues. The restaurant was nicely decorated with fall-seasoned touches. I had an omelette and my husband had their "fancy" French toast which was drizzled with Nutella and peanut butter goodness, strawberries and blueberries and tasted great. I thought it was a little odd that ketchup was given to me in a tiny container when I requested it for my home fries especially since I saw at least 10 full size ketchup containers on the counter. There was a full size container of mustard at our table but I can't see mustard being as widely used as ketchup. I also didn't notice until we were leaving that a bulletin board near the front of the restaurant featured specials, something you can't see at all from the back of the restaurant where we were seated, nor did the waitress make any mention of them. Sandwich was pretty good, very filling, eggs were cooked perfectly over easy, sandwich was cheesy. Bread was a touch over toasted. Also ordered a side of bacon - 4 crispy strips for a couple bucks. Good food. I recommend the biscuits and (sausage) gravy. The pancakes and French toast fancy or plain are worth the wait. The arepas were good enough to order takeout. If you looking for a good brunch and don't mind waiting 10-15 min. Especially on a lazy Sunday. If you're in a rush there's a McDonald's down the street. The staff is courteous and responsive. Our waitress seemed distracted after we received our food and service seemed to slow down as we finished our meal. We should have waited until we received food we ordered for takeout and the boxes for leftovers to pay. Because it seemed like we were forgotten after we paid. It's a clean cafe/dinner. This is a little jewel in this area and is my first time. Fast paced, open small restaurant style or large sandwich shop looking place. Loud and laid back with mostly young wait staff. Lots of traditional American style breakfasts but judging by the nationality of the cooks appearing to be Spanish, I would guess their Tex-Mex menu items would be amazing! There weren't many brunch options in the proximity so we chose to go here and was pleased with the food. The service was good and portions were well sized. We walked in a bit before 10am on a Saturday and was able to get seated right away but it filled up pretty quickly after we were seated. I got the classic eggs benedict and shared some French toast and both dishes were clean at the end. My husband had one of the specials, Chorizo Hash Skillet, and I had the a California Eggs Benedict. Both were amazing. We visited the restaurant on Sunday for breakfast. The restaurant is rather small and it seems to be popular, so we had to wait for about 20 minutes to be seated. The breakfast menu had reasonable selection, plus there were specials. I ordered pulled pork eggs Benedict - the dish was okay - reasonably tasty, but lacking any wow factor. My wife had a Western Omelette - the veggies inside were barely cooked, and the omelette itself had an appearance of the one made from the mysterious egg mixture poured from the pitcher which you can see at some of the omelette stations in hotels. My son's pancakes were ultra dry, required lots of maple syrup to be able to eat them. Only my daughter seemed to be happy with her eggs sunny side up dish. Service was prompt and attentive. No recommendation here. It is just an okay food. As we don't live in the area, I can't say if other places are the same or better, so you decide for yourself. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for some time. I'll tell you what; it didn't disappoint. I had a great breakfast as did my wife. I always say if you can't do breakfast right than you shouldn't be in the kitchen. Located by the giant food store it's nestled back in the store front. As always someone is there waiting to greet you with a smile. The ladies here are always so lovely and nice. They always say "hi" and "hello" to us and our girls. They love the babies here. I had eggs scrapple home Fries and toast. Wife had the same. Second time around I had the breakfast bowl with Avocado sausage and a fried egg to top. That was delicious. So many sandwich/pizza places and not much else. Finally I found this little place in a shopping center near Giant. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. They were pretty busy, but I was greeted the moment I walked in the door. The menu has nice variety and with the hostess's recommendations, I found something for everyone. The avocado salad is amazing, with the dressing made in-house. The Ruben is classic and very good. They have a small kids' menu and my son enjoyed his chicken fingers and French fries.
