We have previously dined at the Corner Bistro Cafe and found the food to be very good. However, today we arrived at 1:45 to find out their closing time was changed to 2:15. I ordered an omelet with hash browns and toast. It took 15 mins for the order to get to us and the home fries and toast were burnt. How dare the chef and the waitress consider serving garbage to a customer. It is obvious they were closing and gave me today's slop to me to eat. NEVER and I mean NEVER will we eat there again. Recommend to fire the cook and change the name to the Corner Slop Pit. I regret not taking pictures of the slop on my dish. read more

There's something special about having a hometown cafe with an atmosphere this charming and welcoming! The cafe is run by an incredibly pleasant staff, the food is too notch (I had the best parfait I've ever had here, I never knew I loved dragonfruit this much!) the service is fast, the prices are very reasonable, and they have a solid menu of various palettes, from pancakes and eggs to mozzarella sticks and burgers! I ordered a Reuben. They asked me if I wanted turkey and coleslaw... that's a Rachel... The sandwich they brought me had three thin slices of corned beef. I immediately asked the server if this was the usual portion since there was almost an inch of canned sauerkraut on top of the sorry excuse for meat. She confirmed that was the normal amount and suggested I drag the meat around with a fork to evenly distribute it. I expressed that it was not an acceptable presentation. She then avoided our table for the rest of our time there. We did not receive any drink refills or meal check-ins. A runner brought our food, not the server. I had to walk up to the counter to pay without receiving a bill because we had been abandoned by our server. As far as the sandwich went, all I could taste was vinegar from the canned sauerkraut. It was the worst sandwich I've ever had. It's hard to mess up a sandwich like a Reuben but Corner Cafe succeeded. I will never set foot in that place again. Horrible food and horrible service. I tell everyone I know that Corner Cafe has the worst Reuben in Chester County. read more

Came in for breakfast around 830 on a Friday to a busy place with friendly and fast staff. Good coffee and real maple syrup! Minimal single use plastics. Butter is in a plastic cup and cream for coffee is in plastic singles. Get rid of all single use plastics and you have a 5 star cafe. read more

Worst French Toast I have ever been served. Dark brown--almost burnt--and could hardly cut with a knife. No evidence dipped in egg. A Short stack is just one slice of bread (at a cost of $7.00). Waitress should have been embarrassed to serve it...but she simply said she would tell the cook. Is this how all their French Toast comes out? I should have insisted it be replaced and I'm so sorry I did not take a photo. Staff needs to be taught that sometimes their mistakes should not be served. For the sake of one slice of bread and the way this was handled, a customer has been lost and this review written. P.S. I live in Cochranville, not as listed by Yelp. read more

Corner cafe is a very humble place to grab a nice breakfast and lunch. Today was my first time there ever. I was pleased with the good service and wide selection of menu items. Their food and drinks are pretty basic, not too much flavor and/or seasoning, but they use fresh ingredients and it gets the job done for the price. read more

I decided to get out early today and get my wife some breakfast from the Corner Cafe since she's always liked French toast there. That was not happening today. It was so bad that she took a single bite and then the dogs got a treat. I got an egg sandwich with English muffin, sausage, egg and cheese. English muffin was burnt (and not just a little), sausage tasted like scrapple. Just not good, but I'm a pig so I pushed on. Not sure what changed here? New management, different cooks, etc.? Management might wanna step in here and get it straight, or don't. I just know that I'm not going to keep throwing $20 bills for such little food and such poor quality. read more

The location is conducive for cars and motorcycle parking and the menu has something for everyone. The service is excellent and there are a couple tables outside for seating. The service has always been really good so cheers to the servers!!! The menu and/or cook are very misleading which is why it only gets two stars. Although the item said it comes with peppers and onions in the description for the Philly cheesesteak omelette neither were included. When asked about this, the "cook" first said the peppers and onions were an up charge you have to ask for them yet the menu states the omelette comes with them. When that story didn't fly with us based on the menu they then said they WERE in the omelette. When challenged on THAT statement ( because there was not a pepper of any color nor even a bit of onion present) they then said they were were puréed and already in the omelette. SMH! They even had the nerve to say they have to list what comes in the omelette for people who have allergies - no disagreement there- but what that had to do with the fact the items were missing from the omelette is beyond me! The problem with all of this is all they had to do was say they forgot to add them! That's it! But they choose to lie on top of lies and thus.. a warning to all who read this... a "cook" ( no true chef would ever do this) who tells these kinds of lies about food when they don't have to lie... is a cook to be very VERY cautious of. What else's about our food are they lying about!?! read more

Always an enjoyable meal served by pleasant people! The menu has a great variety and breakfast is served all day (bonus!) Today we got the Cuban sandwich and the black & Bleu Burger, both with fries. We are long-time customers of the Corner Cafe and enjoyed it enough to give it positive reviews down through the years. I never do negative reviews, but our experience last Sunday leaves me no choice because I don't want any other diners to be placed in our position. My son ordered gravy, potatoes, eggs and toast. He asked for the gravy to be on the potatoes. The server brought him a bowl with everything layered and the gravy over the biscuits. We awkwardly and politely asked the server if it could be redone on a plate with the gravy on the potatoes. She was flustered and not pleased obviously. She said, "Yes, but you will have to pay for two breakfasts then. I said, "Are you sure?" And she said that it was restaurant policy. I was stunned and my son was embarrassed. He said he would just eat some of what he was given. There is no way I will ever go back to an eatery with a policy such as this!!! I wouldn't recommend it and I would warn against it. It's such a nice little place with good food. It's just that policy and one bad experience that ruins everything. read more

I tried breakfast here about four times. The Hawaiian french toast, coffee and the well done bacon are really great. The scrapple and sausage need to have a little bit more flavor to them. If you need watch your diet, don't order the home fries, because they are greasy. The banana pancakes are hit or miss. Sometimes they are very good, but other times they are a bit rubbery. I have had rib stew and crab cake for dinner here. I would not get the crab cakes again because there is too much filler in them. The rib stew is good. The Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes are excellent Don't order the garlic bread, because it is really bad. If you have high blood pressure, tell them to put less salt on your dinner choices, because it is salty (like most restaurants). What irks me about this place is they open up at 9:30 on Saturday morning for breakfast. That is a little late for me. I like this place, but I have to find a early-opening up breakfast place in the future. read more

Stopped here for an early lunch recently. I had the breakfast burger with scrapple. My wife had the pastrami. Both sandwiches were fantastic. Good portions without being huge. Fries were the best I've had in a while. My burger was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection as well. read more

Was excited to take family visiting from out of town to this place. They have no idea how to manage tables. Tables of 6 had 2 people at them. As a result our party of 5 waited a half hour before giving up. Need an adult in the dining room. A bunch of teenagers more concerned with gossiping and giggling cannot keep the customers happy. Our most recent visit to Corner Cafe was decent enough. Nothing was awful but nothing we ate was all that exciting. We tried banana pancakes which were cooked well but they had an odd buckwheat flavor to them that I never noticed when we had them before. The bacon was cooked well, the Hawaiian French toast was good, and the coffee was hot and delicious. The employees were all very nice and helpful albeit none of them had masks on. If you're in the area and want a pretty good meal, it's a good option for breakfast (don't even think of going to McDonalds across the parking lot) if you're in the area, but it's not a place that I would go out of my way to eat at. read more

Usually this place is pretty good, but I had a bad omelet (all the cheese was in one corner and not mixed with the bacon and broccoli); we mentioned it to the waitress and ate the toast and home fries on the plate and some of the egg. We mentioned it to the waitress who checked and was told there was nothing that could be done. So we paid for an omelette that wasn't made correctly and couldn't be eaten. Cute little place! My friends and I got here around 1 on a Sunday afternoon and it was kinda crowded and small inside, but we didn't wait more than around 15 min. Our waitress Jess was really fun and friendly and all our food (regular burger, BBQ and onion ring burger, Huli Huli chicken wrap, and omelet) was great! Even though we were there in the afternoon we could still get breakfast food, and there was quite the variety of both traditional breakfast stuff, more interesting and unique breakfast options, and sandwiches, wraps, salads, and other lunch foods. Crack dealers don't hustle as hard as these kids. Great food and service every time we show up. If you have to wait for a table sit and watch the chaotic symphony going on behind the counter. Terrible experience again. We always forget that the owner is a really mean person. Ordered from Door Dash. The dasher came and was super apologetic for the wait bc the owner wouldn't let her take the food we ordered and paid for. The owner insisted her restaurant wasn't on door dash... I'm attaching a picture of the business on the app. Food was cold when we got it. Last time I came to pick up food the owner grilled me when I didn't have ID for a credit card that was signed. The girl at the register asked to see ID bc she was training, and I said I didn't have one bc it was my mom's card and she was waiting in the car. Besides, it was signed. The owner rudely insisted that I go back out to the car, get my mom's ID, and come back in. That was her compromise btw considering it wouldn't be me on the ID. For the record, I'm in my 20's and had just taken my mom to a follow up for knee surgery, so she physically would have had difficulty coming in- hence the take out. By the time that was over, our food was cold when we got home. For the reference on drive time, we live in West Grove. Just really crap customer service overall for food that is average. read more

Tried breakfast here and was pleased all around. My 2.5 year old son was impressed with his gigantic Mickey Mouse pancake and I loved my bacon, cheese and veggie omelet with crispy and hot home fries.
