Half Monster Medley breakfast hoagie, half Breakfast Hoagie with scrapple, side of bacon
Martha C.

I use Door Dash to order from this breakfast gem! The Monster Medley hoagie has all the best foods of breakfast overflowing a yummy roll. The scrapple and bacon are perfectly cooked and the home fries are seasoned perfectly. I haven't been able to dine in the restaurant yet, but it is a goal. Highly recommend the food for a comforting breakfast. They serve lunch also.

Eggs and turkey sausage!

Ate breakfast there many times, always good. Only downside is when it's very busy service can be a little slow.

A real throw-back. Good breakfasts - haven't had lunch yet. Try the Big Traveler. Thanks Hon.

Good portions but some breakfast items can be over cooked. And the coffee isn't very good. This place could use an extreme "diner" makeover.

Best pancakes I have ever had. My husband's omelette was great and the corned beef hash was wonderful! We will be regulars.

Good food, reasonable prices and friendly service. The place is tiny and charming, but nothing fancy.

Portions were ok. Asked for skim milk and they did not have it. Asked for egg whites and they said they couldn't. Food was good though.

Even as a part of 7, we were seated a lot faster than I expected. Noisy inside with a lot of groups dining, but it was not hard to have a conversation amongst ourselves, even with being seated next to the front door. Seems like most of the comments here are regarding the wait for service. I'd say the only really annoying part here was waiting for our food, which took a lot longer than we expected. A few tables that were seated around the same time as us got served and left before we got our food. Otherwise, the food here was fantastic. I had the mushroom omelet, but also tried the eggs benedict, Greek salad, and mushroom that others at my table ordered. They definitely feed of the mushroom hype in the Kennett Square area, but the mushrooms here are definitely something else, in the good way. I'd recommend the place for anyone in the area visiting Longwood Gardens. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially with a large group around meal times. This place seems popular and packed!

Zappa, C.W.Stoneking, you don't hear this music anywhere around here. Started with an old fashioned which feature a "well bourbon" for happy hour. Don't recommend. Ordered two of the small plates and the highlight was the Thai shrimp. They were huge (12s?) and just fried crispy enough. The chicken wings got the job done. Came with 9, but my GLP drugs only tolerated 6. Overall I would try again, but with Bulleit Rye and just the shrimp. Or the fish and chips.

We were in a hurry because we had to get ready for an event, but as soon as we walked in we were seated right away. The first thing I saw when I looked at the menu, was a Carajillo (Which I was pleasantly surprised that they had it on the menu. It's one of my favorite drinks, especially when I need a caffeine boost and at that time I definitely did!!) I wasn't planning on drinking alcohol, but it was so perfect that I ended up having 2 of them!! Lol For food, I ordered the smash burger and got fries instead of the salad. It was pretty yummy! My cousin's wife ordered the Baba Ganoush and it was delicious!! I was pretty impressed because we had no expectations!

Hubby and I road trip pretty frequently, and oddly enough we've never stopped here. Well, we stopped here for breakfast a week later on our way back north! It was a regular slow weeknight vibe, but the waitress had good energy. She was patient and allowed us time to make a decision. Even the next day, we enjoyed the food we took to go. No, this is not gourmet dining but it is top quality diner food and my goodness is it plentiful!! What makes Deepwater deserve five stars however is the welcoming service you will receive once you walk through the doors. We've been cared for by wait staff both young and old and no matter who it is you want to leave significant tips when you leave. Today's meal was great as always and I have tomorrow's lunch in the fridge. Fresh and tasty!! Really great soups!! Yes, I know the view out the windows is not great but they can't help their location. One complaint... I am tired of having TV's in restaurants because I go to escape the world unless I am going to a sports bar to watch a game. And, if you have to have TVs distracting meal conversations at least don't make us watch political TV networks because some of us are offended by them.

The massive dessert case greeted me, brimming with colorful delicious-looking pastries, cakes, and pies. I was seated promptly and handed menus which included their specials of the day; everything from lasagna to moussaka to stuffed peppers to barbecue ribs. My waitress, Dee, came over to ask for my drink and went away with my order. She appeared again quickly with my coffee, which was hot, and honestly - better than the standard cup of coffee in most places. Mmmm As I waited for my order I couldn't help but notice how happy their patrons are. It's 1:30pm on a weekday so I see a lot of people who look like retirees, along with a smattering younger diners and some folks in work uniforms. A couple was leaving and stopped to have a friendly conversation with one of the people who worked there. It's obvious they've known each other for a while, regulars. A table over starting singing "Happy Birthday" to their friend. The 70's and 80's songs were enjoyable without curbing conversation. My food came out faster than expected and was piping hot. Toast options are white, wheat, or rye. I requested it dry as I don't want it slathered with margarine or something unidentifiable. It came dry but they included two mini containers of real butter with it. Heaven! Dee came over and checked on me in a bit, offered me more coffee. More yum. Mmmm. Total cost for a Florentine omelette (spinach and feta cheese), a whole lot of home fried potatoes, two slices of toasted bread with real butter and jelly, coffee, and a comfortable friendly atmosphere: $14.45. I couldn't finish it and took about 1/3 of the plate home for later. I have no idea why they're not between 4-5 stars for a diner. Food is solid, coffee is fresh and hot, service is quick and friendly. I think they're worth every penny.
