Half Monster Medley breakfast hoagie, half Breakfast Hoagie with scrapple, side of bacon
Martha C.

I use Door Dash to order from this breakfast gem! The Monster Medley hoagie has all the best foods of breakfast overflowing a yummy roll. The scrapple and bacon are perfectly cooked and the home fries are seasoned perfectly. I haven't been able to dine in the restaurant yet, but it is a goal. Highly recommend the food for a comforting breakfast. They serve lunch also.

Eggs and turkey sausage!

Took a long time for coffee and waters to be served. Very clean spot, I have also been to the old spot before the fire. Very well lit and we sat at the counter. My wife and I both had the Bull's eye Breakfast with 3 pieces of French toast. Liked that it was some kind of Italian loaf and not the normal Texas toast. Sausage patties and scrambled eggs were made fresh in front of us as well. Food was delicious! I definetly will go back.

We finally asked our waitress and she was surprised that we didn't get the "dinner menu". Yeah, we were surprised to find out there was more than just sandwiches for dinner. She apologized that the person who seated us just didn't give us the dinner menus even though it was just about 7pm! So she said if we wanted, they would let us order from the dinner menu and give our original food to someone else. Honestly, by that time, we were sitting there for more than 45 minutes and we were starving, so we just told her we'd take our sandwiches. I have to say she was extremely apologetic about it, and was genuine. We appreciate that, but it's still unlikely we'll return.

Zappa, C.W.Stoneking, you don't hear this music anywhere around here. Started with an old fashioned which feature a "well bourbon" for happy hour. Don't recommend. Ordered two of the small plates and the highlight was the Thai shrimp. They were huge (12s?) and just fried crispy enough. The chicken wings got the job done. Came with 9, but my GLP drugs only tolerated 6. Overall I would try again, but with Bulleit Rye and just the shrimp. Or the fish and chips.

We also had one dirty martini and two other cocktails at our table and everyone enjoyed their drinks. The charcuterie board was a nice assortment and came out with slices of toasted bread that was probably sourdough and quite good. The wings were good and came out well done and with the sauces on the side as requested. Very tasty. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive as was the food runner. My friend commented that it reminded her very much of the pubs she'd been in when she visited Ireland. I don't think you could give a bigger compliment to an Irish pub!

Short hop off the highway, near the large factory next to a large gas station and a bunch of trucks, is the Deepwater diner. If you're looking for Michelin star or haute cuisine; you're way off the mark. Simple honest working man's food, ya know like trucker diner food. Wait staff super friendly, cleared dishes quickly and service was on point. Waitress was kind and pleasant, explained options over and over without any hint of exasperation. We asked for the Greek salad to be without so much cheese, she was right on it. We ordered country fried chicken steak, meatloaf, hamburger deluxe and whole rack of ribs. The Greek salad starter was great, as was the crab bisque. They sent us a free appetizer of fries, fried Mac / cheese and chicken nuggets, it was delish. Then the food arrived, they were fred flintstone sized. Generous would be an understatement. Our international student friend who ate with us called it 'American sized' As much as we tried, we could not make a dent. Threw in the towel and packed most of it to go. Then they served us free ice cream. We went for strawberry, mint chocolate chip, moose tracks (reeces and chocolate chunks) and dark cherry. Some of the best we've had in some time. (Waitress said it's from Water Ice cream in Philly). Gluttons that we are, we got the whip cream on top. We'll Get back on the diet wagon next week. They also had signs for kids under 13 eat free! Finally we got the bill. 72 for 4 adults who could not eat even 1/2 of what was served. Don't be a snob, embrace the local diner and be open to different experiences. Cashier was the owners kid, working his job at 14. Good to see kids hustling, hard work never killed anyone.

Hubby and I road trip pretty frequently, and oddly enough we've never stopped here. Well, we stopped here for breakfast a week later on our way back north! It was a regular slow weeknight vibe, but the waitress had good energy. She was patient and allowed us time to make a decision. Even the next day, we enjoyed the food we took to go. I absolutely love small chicken wings, and these wings gave!!! Will always make this spot a stop on our road trips

Her focus should be on the experience, food service, and properly training and managing staff. Been patronizing for many years but this summer's experiences have been very negative and disappointing. The neighboring restaurants, directly beside and across from Portabellos, have been holding higher standards without the strong turnover we've seen at Portabellos. Perhaps it's time to hire a friendlier, kinder face as manager/hostess. When bringing things to her attention, she deflected and turned blame to the "busyness" of the towns local events. With that being said, being of her obvious age and acclaimed experience, she should know to fully staff and properly manage her team. The seats will fill themselves, not needing her hand in literally asking guests at the bar to shuffle their seats to fill two others. Perhaps the patrons at the bar sat in the selected seats purposely, and for reason of disability, anxiety, etc. Never had we experienced a manager asking patrons, in mid-meal and deep conversation, to quite literally shuffle themselves to fill an empty barstool. Absolutely appalling. Highly recommend avoiding unless you enjoy overspending on lacking, cold, sometimes forgotten food, and terribly inadequate attention to details.

The fries were also really good and the avocado chicken wrap seems to be one of their most popular items. The service was great and it was a nice , clean dining area with clean rest rooms. Definitely enjoyed the hash browns with a breakfast order , super crispy on the outside and very good. All the breakfast options looked excellent and the Benedict options look really appealing.
