Awesome food for breakfast and lunch, more upscale than your average cafe serving breakfast and lunch.

Stopped in for a quick solo lunch. Ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, added fries because it was Presidents Day and Lincoln would have wanted me to splurge. Solid meal. Friendly server but I felt a bit rushed. I asked for recommendations and she suggested one sandwich. This being my first visit, I like when the servers help out a bit....there was a good assortment of items so suggesting maybe more than one wrap was quite possibly possible. Wrap and fries were very good. I removed most of the actual tortilla since I had an order of fries to consume. Thanks Abe. Tomatoes were incredibly fresh! I was charged 75 cents for requesting ranch on the side. I have zero issues with said charge but I think it's considerate to give the customer a heads up when the order is placed, and not just adding it to the bill. The corner cafe was clean, employees were pleasant, and my wrap, enjoyable....therefore the likelihood of my return is high. read more

This is now called "Corner Cafe". What a gem! Arrived on a super busy Sunday morning with a group of three and waited about 10 minutes to get seated. The waitress was really sweet and attentive & the food arrived very quickly considering how busy they were. This place is on the small side; not a lot of space for larger groups but I'm sure they'll do their best to accommodate. Huge portions. I ordered a veggie omelette with breakfast potatoes. It feels like home when you're there and everyone is like family. It's a cozy atmosphere and the prices are decent. Get there early on the weekends before there's a wait. Great service, great homemade food! What more could you ask for!? Not a very big place with a bunch of smaller tables but I was able to be seated right away at lunchtime on a Friday even though the place was very busy. The food came out in a timely manner and I just loved having a bowl of soup that did not taste like a salt lick! They have homemade cream of mushroom every day. With my soup I had a hot open faced roast beef that was absolutely delicious but a bit on the pricey side at $20 with a water. read more

The word Aloha has a lot of meanings. It means hello, goodbye, love and your spirit. The Aloha Cafe means all these things to me. When I walked in, a handsome Hawaiian couple greeted me with a warm Aloha and when I sat down, I could feel the love in these wonderful people. When I told Ken and Leilani I used to live in Kahaluu, Hawaii, the love dial got turned up to high. But it was me that was high. High on the huge photo's of Waikiki and the koolau mountains and the surfers and the sexy Hula Girls all around the restaurant. my experienced heightened when we started to "talk story" with each other. Is five stars too generous for the Corner Cafe? I don't think so. And here's why. I've now had lunch here 5 times in the last 5 months. Every single meal has been spot on. Reuben, a buffalo chicken salad, BLT and a turkey club (2X). And the extra stars...for the bread. Real, homemade fresh bread. Good bread is important, and it makes the difference on the sandwiches here. The other things for me that has me offer a favorable review is the homemade soup. Wow..the stuff is REALLY homemade. Even the broth! The navy bean and ham taste like Mom's. Today, I had some vegetable and beef. Wow, giant chunks of potato, string beans, and plenty of beef. Plenty of breakfast and dinner items, but I just haven't made it over to try. And Jennifer, our regular waitress, just might be the most charming and efficient waitress on the planet. read more

Tried this place for brunch. I was impressed by my meal and wait service. However I did not appreciate the seating, which was in the back crammed up against a wall with what seemed like the brightest light in the world shining on my head. Anyway, the Eggs Benedict was delicious. It was made with grilled sweet bread, their Hawaiian replacement for toast. This, as well as other options like Mahi Mahi, seem to be the aftertaste left by the restaurant's predecessor, Aloha Cafe. My partner's burger was apparently "average". We also tried the corn nuggets, the restaurant's signature appetizer. While tasty, the small bowl of fried blobs of sweet corn was not worth the price of a meal here. That said, our waiter was very attentive and positive. I'd like to re-iterate how delicious the Eggs Benedict was. Despite the other factors, I'm looking forward to trying more of their dishes... hopefully next time at a different table. read more

With all respect to Bruce B he couldn't be more wrong about the Aloha Cafe. If you want to eat average food and pay tons of money by all means visit Aloha Cafe. The last time we went our bill for breakfast for 5 was over $70. Granted I have kids with high-end coffee tastes but still... This is definitely one of the best breakfast/lunch places to eat around! Their food is always excellent and the staff is super friendly! I always get their manoa chicken salad and it is TO DIE FOR! I don't know what their dressing is but it's amazing!! The only thing I wish they did was specials. My parents and I come for breakfast every weekend and we wish they would do specials on the weekend to change it up some. We love this place!! Jamie, the owner, took our dining experience to a whole new level- My son has multiple food allergies- breakfast is usually the most challenging meal to order when dining out due to most allergies being dairy. Jamie took the time to understand his concerns and was able to make pancakes for him using ingredients he could eat. How refreshing it is for someone (Jamie) to take the time to make my son enjoy eating out like everyone else. We now come here OFTEN! The staff is so friendly and accommodating too. When we walk through the door we are always greeted with a smile, and we feel welcomed! This is the perfect place to meet a friend for a late breakfast. The food is really delicious, and the new owners (now it is Corner Cafe) have added their own items without getting rid of the signature Aloha items. Good size portions and attentive staff. Overall it was a solid breakfast, nothing special or craveable but decent. I had the chicken and waffles. Chicken was cooked well and the waffle was delicious. The maple and butter were a little funky though. Hubby had the biscuits and gravy. Will eat here again but probably not frequently. read more

Amazing crab cakes, and they even have a gluten free bun available for them that tastes really good. Side salads were also delicious. They have a huge menu, with lots of tea options. We have been going there since you first opened. Always happy with the food. Raved about it to friends for years This morning we brought our 80 year old mother there for breakfast on Sunday morning around 8:30, June 26, 22. We chose to sit outside because it was a beautiful day. Moved a table in against the building out of the sun because my mom is sun sensitive. After a bit of a wait my husband checked to see if they forgot we were out there. Finally a waitress popped her head out the door and said "You have to move that table back." We tried to explain but she was quick to say no and that we couldn't block the sidewalk. That is well and good though we were not blocking the path . She could have handled the situation in a much kinder manner. We did move the table back and decided to find another place for breakfast. As we were getting in the car I noticed her at our table and I said "Be kind". She immediately started yelling and screaming at the top of her voice. My husband called to ask for the manager and it was the same person who was very rude. Just want to say kindness goes a long way. We will not return to this establishment and we will tell others of our experience there. read more

This was our go to place. The food was usually good, if not pricy. Until the fathers day my daughter and her husband tried to stop there for a late breakfast on their one year anniversary. The male owner was holding the door open, talking, while someone was leaving. After the ppl stepped out, my daughter tried to enter the restaurant. The owner said they were closing. So they turned to leave. He then very rudely said "can't you read the sign". That would be the sign saying what time they were closing on fathers day, the one he was standing in front of. The guy has always been pompous but we went there anyway because he wasn't always there. But we haven't been back since. He's not getting anymore of my hard earned money. read more

Food is great! when the order is correct. Service is exceptional when your order is actually put in correct. There is only one or two waitresses who actually get our orders right every time we come In. Lady with the crazy make up is great! I've been a returning customer for years now, however my last handful of visits Have been a horrible experience. One experience was unprofessional comments from the owner and the manager Making me feel very uncomfortable. Second experience was hair in my food. I'm surprised they took that meal off the receipt however instead of just handing me the receipt the manager should of came out and apologized. Then the last few experiences mine or my family's orders were wrong. We really wanted to like this place but have had several bad experiences. They are open late on Thursdays and Fridays. If you walk in at 7:30 the first thing they say is the grill is closing in 10 minutes- that's just rude. I got a coconut cake that had green mold all o ER the bottom. We had a terrible experience at The Corner Cafe. It is a long story. Please bear with me. We came in after church to a small wait. There were only about 2 people ahead of us, tables of 2 each. We were a table of 3. We put our name on the list, and were happy to wait. I had to repeat my husband's name 3 times before the hostess understood, and he has a pretty normal name. Another family of 3 came in after us, talked to us about how long the wait might be, and put their name on the list AFTER ours. When a table for 3 became available, a different hostess decided to seat the family of 3 that came in AFTER US. She completely skipped us on the list!! When the original hostess came back, I asked her what happened, and she told me, "Your name must not be written down." WHAT? First of all, my name was written down. I saw it on her list. Secondly, SHE was the one that wrote our names down and did not remember. WOW. I kept my calm and pointed out my name on the list to her. When she confronted her other hostess who sat the people ahead of us what happened, the other hostess looked at me, just shrugged her shoulders, and looked the other way. Like it didn't matter. No apology. Just blatant rudeness. I couldn't believe it. She continued to ignore me as I stood there glaring at her. The sad thing was the other family who took our spot KNEW they came in after us. Even asked US what the wait was. The wife looked down her nose at me when she stole my table to rub salt in the wound. The humanity. We have gone previously to the corner cafe for breakfast and really enjoyed the diner-like food and small town atmosphere of the cafe. We were excited to add them to our brunch rotation. After this experience, we will NEVER EVER be back and will tell everyone we know about their absolutely incompetent staff. The funny thing? When we went the first time, the waitress said to us: "I don't know why the hostess seats everyone in the back like this. So strange." If their own wait staff is complaining about their hostesses, that should tell you something. At least that time, I got a table. I will never want for another table again. read more
