We started with the crab bisque, fried flounder sandwich with crab fries, chicken piccata and we took the chocolate cake home for later. Everything we had at the cafe was made to order and delicious, with obvious attention to presentation. The soup had nice chunks of crab, but a little less creamy than what I was used to. The flounder sauce and fish was very yummy, but I wished I had more of that sauce on the side. The filet was ever so slightlyyyyyy overcooked. My wife found the chicken too thick, thinking it could've been pounded a little thinner and with more capers. Other than that, she found the dish delightful. It would have been a five star night except for these nit picky issues.

The mushroom bisque was beyond compare: silky and creamy and smooth. The peach caprese salad was inspired. The peaches were perfect, the balsamic was complex and tangy. My crab was crazy good. The Godiva chocolate crème brûlée was perfect. This place: this little place on a gravel parking lot in the middle of the countryside deserves all the accolades one can ladle on it. The staff, the tiny dining room, the ambiance: all on point. What a pleasure.

From the moment we walked in, the place just felt right. Warm, welcoming, and unpretentious. Antonio, our server, was outstanding. Attentive, personable, and completely dialed in without ever being overbearing. He made the whole experience feel easy. The food was exceptional across the board. The chilaquiles were packed with flavor and clearly made fresh. Johnny's French toast was next level, rich, perfectly cooked, and easily one of the best I've had. The loaded pancakes were exactly what you want in a proper brunch, generous, indulgent, and done right. What really took it over the top was the unexpected moment. Completely unprompted, Antonio and Chef Francisco surprised me with a birthday celebration, fresh churros with a candle. It was thoughtful, personal, and genuine. You don't see that kind of care very often anymore. And then the kicker. The entire meal for the table came out to under $70. For the quality of food, portion size, and level of service, that kind of value is rare. Huge credit to Chef Francisco in the kitchen and Antonio on the floor. This is a place that understands both hospitality and execution. If you're anywhere near Newark or visiting UD, it's worth the short drive. No question we'll be back.

We couldn't limit our picks and started with the Grilled Kennett Square mushrooms, Camembert with carrot caramel foam, and the chilled pea soup with mint. We also ordered the Nashville hot catfish and curry soft shell crab. The caramel foam was delicious and paired perfectly with the cheese and bread. The pea soup was refreshing and harmonized well. The mushrooms were simply delightful. The catfish was cooked extremely well, with the crust (with a corn meal crust?) remaining crunchy and the fish juicy, with the seasonings on point and spicy. The curry soft shelled crab was the winner among many winning choices and was perfect. We couldn't stop raving about it. We enjoyed it so much, we overindulged and ordered the lamb. The meat was exceptionally soft, even for rack of lamb. Unable to resist the dessert menu, we finished with the rhubarb sorbet with basil water and granola. My wife is not a fan of rhubarb or basil, but also loved the dessert and its balance and uniqueness. The service was excellent and attentive, and the restaurant is very cute and cozy. My wife has worked in restaurants for years and we were both thoroughly impressed by the execution and care for all the items we ordered. It's one thing to have a creative and unique menu, it's another thing entirely to have that level of execution for it. Thank you!
