I usually come to the drip Café and get the same thing every time. This time I've ventured out and got a new brunch item. The mushroom toast was loaded with greens, pesto, and sun-dried tomatoes. It had ricotta on the toast but not nearly enough! The espresso milkshake is my favorite item at this place!! You can order at your table or at the register. They are typically faster than the projected time they give. There's usually plenty of space although they don't have their outdoor furniture yet! read more

Inside a local shopping center, weird spot but when you go inside it's cool & casual. Nice decor. You order at the counter and then they bring to the table. Lots of take out orders. Ordered the tropical smoothy for my kiddos, they split into two cups - super nice! It was yummy thick and a good size... still a lot for $8 My iced americano was eh. Not bad but not great! Stopped into Drip Cafe for brunch on a Friday. This place was packed full of people. The restaurant is pretty spacious. You can order your food at the table through their online order system or stand in line for the food to be brought to your table. The menu is pretty big. There are lots of savory and sweet items on the menu. Sandwiches, bowls, salads, and pastries. I ordered the sourdough French toast, scrambled eggs and a side of sausage. They all came out on a separate plate which was fine. The French toast was good. The eggs to me were just okay. I did not care for the pork sausage. The flavor was there but it was a little overcooked so the texture was hard and rubbery. Overall I enjoyed my visit to Drip Cafe. read more

My husband sent me a photo (from instagram?) of pumpkin waffles from Drip. I love everything pumpkin. So today, I had to take out an order of pumpkin waffles. Thank goodness I did, because it was so big, and I saved half of it for tomorrow. The restaurant was clean inside. Lonzo took my order. He was the most friendly staff person that I have ever encountered in this restaurant. The pumpkin waffles came with syrup, whipped cream, pecans and a type of compote. Everything was great- I liked the compote, but not on the waffle. I saved the other half on the compote to have with toast in the morning. I plan to have pumpkin waffles from Drip a couple of more times until they discontinue them. If Drip is reading my review, I love gingerbread waffles as a special. First the food was great! But... when you order on their App the entire process was challenging with check boxes that check/uncheck without even going near them. Once you actually get orders placed the food comes out in a horribly erratic fashion. No organized table service so our party had three orders and it was just uncomfortable be the first or last to get your food. Then we spent extra ($6 each) to get 2 additional sides of bacon and never got them. Just a bunch of different servers bringing food and nobody making sure all our food got to us. When I called about reservations and shared we'd never eaten here the girl could have said it was counter or self order (App) and not table service. So for the food we got, it tasted great. But some pretty pricey items probably wound up on another table. If you are looking for a sit down brunch with family or friends probably not the best option. read more

I've wanted to try this place for so long, and honestly it was different than I had expected. I initially thought Drip Cafe was more of a coffee based place, but I was surprised to find that there's an extensive breakfast and lunch menu. While I didn't get any food, the options did sound very appealing. I ordered a small oatmilk latte, which shouldn't have been a difficult request, but it took about 15 minutes until it was made. I understand they were busy, but it was just a drink. As someone who used to be a barista, I know all too well how hectic the job can be. But a latte should take about a minute to make in total. Overall the atmosphere was very nice. Well decorated and idyllic. My latte was very good and they have a cute little station to add sugars and your choices of milk/creamer. read more

Loved it. Large coffee shop with brunch all day. They also have pour over coffee in addition to espresso drinks. My only wish was for some additional non-breakfast dishes-- as I was there at 4pm--most were the traditional sweet or egg-based brunch flavors. The combinations of some of the dishes were really creative-- for example, I had the egg cheesesteak wrap. Their french fries and roasted potatoes were from excellent quality potatoes. The place was cute. I LOVE how they have a self service water station and an option to order through the QR code and you can sit down. It's really friendly towards people who may have social anxiety or speech disabilities- or any kind of difficulty communicating to be honest. I love that. The food was like a good 6.5 out of 10. I love how they butter the sourdough bread for you. Avocado was good (I don't feel like you can mess up avocado Imao), bacon was AMAZING and not curly. I love the fact they use real syrup too. Not corn syrup one. The eggs were decent. I like my eggs wet so l probably should've communicated I want wet eggs but they were fine! They weren't burnt. I do wonder if they used an adobo mixture or something similar to it because I tasted that. I just prefer salt n pepper on my eggs. So it was alright. The potatoes were good too but they lack seasoning which was the most confusing thing to me because you put a lot more seasoning than needed on eggs but not potato's? lol. The French toast was alright. I love the fact they added powder sugar. It was pretty flat for French toast but it was good flavor wise. The hot chocolate was alright. We traveled over to Drip today for lunch! This is an order and seat yourself/takeout kind of place. We ordered and sat down in a booth and they brought over our coffees. They website has a coffee stout that we wanted to try but we didn't see it on their menu or menu board unfortunately. Once we sat down we waited approx 35 minutes for our food which was unfortunate. We ordered 2 pancakes, the chorizo burrito, and the Florentine sandwich. They have food runners to bring out your food to the corresponding character they assign you (we had Elvis). Once the food did come the Florentine sandwich was cold and my pancakes were a bit dark on the underside. But we were starving so we ate it anyway. You can tell it's all fresh but the food was not worth a 35 min wait, especially because we didn't order sides. Maybe this is more of a to-go place. read more

We've been here several times over the past 5+ yrs., we're local, but have had the same poor service & food over the years, today was the last time for us. Some of the staff were ok, but others seem "disconnected" from the customers & their obvious needs. My coffee was barely warm & tasted old, & it was, so they made a new pot. Both of our breakfast plates, again, the food was barely warm...(nothing was hot except my 2nd cup of fresh made coffee), the bacon was soggy, "dripping" in grease, obviously had been sitting. We asked why food was cold, & was told it's previously cooked & placed under a warmer.....OK! It was nice to see big booths, but we had to move from our booths (x2) because the seats were so severely worn, torn, it was snagging my pants. Sooo good! Came into Drip for the first time this morning. We ordered within a couple minutes of walking in and were able to snag a booth in the back. My son had a waffle, my husband the hash and I had the bacon caramel apple pancakes. My son and I both had London fog latte's and my husband had a chai latte. All of the drinks were really good. My husband really enjoyed his hash, though thought he could've gone without the bbq sauce on it. My son ate his entire waffle so that's always a good sign. And my pancakes were AMAZING!! My latte came out with the most beautiful heart on it and I was impressed that it kept its shape as I sipped. I would highly recommend. You do have to place your order at the counter, but some does bring it to your table. Instead of numbers to identify your order, they use characters. I have been here twice now and have really enjoyed it. The menu is small but consistent and delicious. I have gotten the house salad, but being vegetarian, I substitute their marinated tofu for the usual turkey. It is wonderful! The perfect mixture of flavors and textures. The staff is friendly and professional and everything is clean and organized. My only wish is that they had a few more options for kids. There is lots of parking and delicious baked goods. I really enjoyed my visit to Drip Cafe. The restaurant is much larger and more attractive than it appears on the outside, extending across the front window and far back into the building. The decor is simple and comfortable, less sterile than your average chain coffee shop, and the staff are incredibly friendly. My server appeared to be a young college student and he was enthusiastic and full of smiles even though my friend and I had to send him away several times before we decided what to order. They also will let you sit and talk for as long as you like, so it's the perfect spot to grab a meal and coffee and catch up with friends without feeling rushed. There are so many great seasonal and local options on the menu, I seriously wanted to try everything. I love that they serve all menu items all day (until close at 4pm), specializing in brunch items. I eventually settled on the scrambled egg burrito with potatoes, cheese, hot sauce, and pico de gallo, and added bacon and avocado. It was delicious and filling, but not heavy or greasy at all. My friend got the chorizo hash which she loved, and also caved for a banana nut nutella muffin. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Drip Cafe is my most favorite spot in Hockessin. It was the first place we ate lunch when we moved here 4 years ago. I've enjoyed every coffee, smoothie, salad and sandwich. Everything is always fresh and clean and healthy. Maybe not the fries but they're delicious. The Rachel is my favorite sandwich (with fries of course). Staff is always friendly, considerate and helpful. They were AWESOME when COVID hit, providing the quality food and service in a safe environment. Now that I've laid on the compliments (lol) I have one teensy comment about the What The Kale salad I had today which was very good, fresh tasty but the chopped kale included the woody ribs and I think that may have been an oversight because I never experienced that there before. Why have we waited so long to come here!!! This is an adorable little place. Inside it's decorated with art that you can purchase. It's clean, bright, modern country chic-ish. Nothing too fancy, it's JUST RIGHT! As we were walking in we could see a few patrons by the window just sipping coffee and laptops at work. Came in on a Friday for brunch and the left was fully occupied so we were asked if we would like to wait or sit at the counter. Counter is it! Our server was very nice and friendly, attentive and personable. I ordered one of the featured coffee's EL MANGO, From Costa Rica and it probably was one of the beast cups of coffee I've had. My fiancé got the house blend & the Waldorf salad. He very much enjoyed it, very lite and loved the arugula and buttered & toasted baguette croutons. I got the Tuscan Benedict!!!! Amazing! Pesto delicious, hollandaise perfect, prosciutto thick slice like I like it!!!! Came with a side of hash, (half sweet potato half regular?). I really wish I had another plate right now as I'm typing this. Price was fair, I felt like I got my money worth in the quality of the food. Our server topped of our coffee and water. Not many places really impress me on the first visit. But i can feel this one (futuristically speaking) making me happy each time. The pancakes were nice an fluffy, filled with a wonderful blend of flavors from the butter, apples, bacon and caramel. Drip cafe is a popular Hockessin mainstay. They've remodeled the interior a few times over the years; currently the cafe looks quite chic with lots of dark wood, cute drip-logo signage and lots of light. It's easy to appreciate why certain sets prefer to be seen at Drip in comparison to the less swanky Quin's cafe or Perfect Cup just by using your eyes. That said, the truth is that as a restaurant Drip has to provide more than elegant settings in order to meet its customers' expectations. As a customer, I was frustrated by a few things. Walking in the door, it was unclear what services(was sit down dining available? - specifically unclear whether people should seat themselves or talk to an employee first(no host, and if there was signage to self seat, I missed it); I was also confused by how to get our food or any attention from waitstaff at all while trying to figure it out out)were being offered and how a customer could avail themselves of them. Turns out if you want to eat at drip you either have to download Drip's app or stand in the pick up line to order. It seemed like if you ordered pick up, you would wait at the pick up counter for food (no table service?). Frankly, neither option is appealing. Who wants to have to download yet another app to their phone, which can only be used at two locations of one restaurant and which is buggy and annoying to order from? The decision to develop an independent app for drip baffled me, considering most other restaurants leverage the QR code/online menu approach with apparent ease but fine, I'm not management there. I'm sure there are reasons Drip decided customers would want to devote screen space and phone memory in order to be confused by a different ordering experience than any other restaurant I've visited since March 2020. In case I seem annoyed by the app it's worth mentioning that it did delightfully useful things like give me a pop up warning about the time of my order changing every time I added anything to my cart. Surely it wasn't adding insult to injury when my food came more than 30 minutes earlier than the final order time the app adjusted me to after my 2 coffees and entree were in my cart. I'd really recommend that piece of the app experience just be removed or redone entirely. While struggling with app confusion, then app frustration, it was striking to me that not one of the many employees on duty behind the bar said a word to or acknowledged my group in any way. I tried to catch someone's eyes to get clarity on my questions to no avail. The first time any person paid attention to us was to bring us our food. May I ask, is it policy at Drip to wait until a customer has received their food to provide niceties such as napkins, cutlery, and our coffee order? (We had to ask for our coffee. The girl who brought our food realized we didn't have cutlery or napkins and brought those to us after we'd been served. Forget about anyone asking us if we wanted creamer, condiments or just acknowledging our existence at all.) for the record, we were seated at the bar, not a table, and multiple employees passed us multiple times while we were seated. I realize that accommodations like apps and virtual ordering were stood up during the pandemic, when limiting direct interactions was an urgent matter of personal health and safety. What's unfortunate is that these measures, over time, sometimes inadvertently have ended up sending the message to workers that your "customers" are only the orders on the screen in front of you. If that's the dynamic Drip wants at their establishment, again, I guess that's cool I'm not their management. But I DO find it insulting when their single-use app which I had to specially download just to order at a restaurant I won't eat at again for months, tries to default me into a 20% tip for an experience where I don't even know who would get that tip let alone why. As for the food, it was breakfast fare that has been fancified up just enough to match the interior decorations and the bougie expectations that come alone with Drip's sleek look. It's my opinion that, as a restaurant, food quality should be the backbone of the review rating on Yelp. I cannot recommend this restaurant but it's not because of what I ate, and that's why I am leaving 3 stars. If 3 seems high after reading this review, well, then make a judgment call based on what I've said instead. And thanks for reading this far. read more

Upon my food being delivered to the table the server never asked if I needed anything else (like the hot sauce and mayo I needed to make the sandwich somewhat enjoyable). Upon leaving several staff members noticed me walking out but never said "have a good day" or gave any salutation which is horrible because you should always acknowledge or thank patrons for their business when they leave. When I first suggested eating at this cafe, BF was skeptical --- would it really be worth the 20 min trek from downtown Wilmington to Hockessin for brunch? The answer is absolutely yes. The cafe itself is adorable. It's situated in the Lantana Square shopping center with ample parking. It gets busy on the weekends, but during the week, it's easy to get a table. The whole place is decked out in local artwork that's also for sale, and the food is appropriately priced and affordable. I ordered the Kale and Bacon Breakfast Hash on both of my visits. I absolutely loved it on my first visit and faced the always difficult choice of eating something tried and true or attempting to strike gold again. However, in my constant debate between sweet vs savory brunch, this dish wins out. Crispy bacon is offset by roasted sweet potatoes and a maple glaze allowing for the perfect sweet-salty combo that perfectly satisfies both of my cravings. The whole dish is tied together with a fried egg, roasted white potatoes, and kale in a perfect portion size for me. BF ordered the breakfast burrito with turkey sausage, which is also excellent, though he admitted he liked my hash better. I have a bad habit of going to Drip when I'm in between night shifts and not allowed to order caffeine. However, my sips of BF's iced coffee were delightful and I look forward to trying their pour-over coffee in the future (perhaps in the same visit when I finally force myself to try another dish, too!). read more
