Went to Drip for the first time today and enjoyed it! I had the weekend quiche which comes with a small arugula salad and a nonfat latte, all of which were delicious! The person I was with enjoyed their food too. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I didn't love that I had to download an app to place an order, wish I could do that from the website instead, and also all the tables were dirty. No one came over to wipe ours off and I couldn't find extra napkins to wipe it off so we kinda worked around the drips/crumbs from the people before us which I didn't love. Drip Café was packed with a half hour wait when I went to visit for Sunday Brunch with some friends. The menu is full of creative mouthwatering options but I settled on the New York Deli Benedict. This version of eggs benedict was flavorful. The toasted English muffins were topped with yolky over easy eggs, flavorful smoked salmon, fresh tomato, red onion, and arugula, and a savory hollandaise sauce with Everything Bagel seasoning. A friend and I stopped here for a light lunch and coffee. I have eaten here before and the food has always been good. Not this time and it's probably what we ordered. The avocado toast is a very small portion short on avocado and long on greens. The tomato jam is so spicy we had to get water to kill the fire. Perhaps some folks like this but I think they should warn you when you order it. I would have ordered something else. Also good to know is they don't have wait staff anymore. I am sure the pandemic is to blame. You order your food and drink and then someone brings it to your table. I won't speak of the quality of the coffee because this review is not an subjective opinion on taste or quality of the beans. This is a review on the service which I'm Not sure if disorganization, short staffing issue, or what caused the poor service . I ordered two latte at 11:49 and did not receive it in hand until 12:16 pm. A full 27 mins later. I actually looked at my credit card notification for exact timing once it passed the 15 minute mark. 27 minutes for a latte regardless of quality(which I'd say is on the bitter side think Starbucks not blue bottle or bluestone lane) is absolutely unnecessary. I'd love to support local business but unfortunately have never had a solid food/coffee experience here. I'd say that if you looking for coffee this should not even be on the radar, go to brew ha ha, perfect cup or even WaWa. I'm not a fan of their cafe but that is a personal taste issue. read more

Finally, a very good coffee shop outside of Philly! I've been a few times now and all the food I tasted has been great. Highly recommend the Florentine sandwich. Lattes are consistent and easily beat BrewHaha. They also do pour over coffee, which has really become popular in recent years. Hoping they have different beans for lattes and would be cool if they started doing latte art. I feel like that would really set them apart from their competition. So, this is the best coffee shop in the DE area hands down. That includes all the BrewHahas, all the little shops in Newark, and even some in Philly. AND the food is beyond what most espresso bars offer, which makes this a one stop shop for me. I will continue to go here regularly. read more

I'm always on a quest for that perfect veggie burger or vegan anything for that matter in Delaware mainly bc there is no Drop Squad Kitchen I can go to after I get off work. Today my quest brought me only a mile away from home. I was craving a good #cupofjoe so I'm like let me try Drip Cafe. I've been wanting to stop in and I just never have the time. I was in total shock. This is a full fledged restaurant,lol . The atomosphere was all earthy, woody, and dope. People and menu wise, it was wayyyy diverse for #Hockessin. Let me tell you...I grew up here and I still cringe when I walk into even the anchor stores around here. I like when a place is packed and I have to wait....good sign. Oh..wait....every other staff member kept asking us if we had been taken care of.Anyhoot, the dude with the earrings, hat and glasses was super friendly and knowledgeable. I asked how was the house coffee was and he gave my mom and I a sample why we waited. #Goodstuff I know because my mom does not do her coffee black. Meanwhile I was able to study their other blends. The Sabri blend of hemp and coconut and stuff caught my attention and I was told by the friendly guy with the hat and glasses that it was his favorite. By the time we are seated, I am really and truly digging this place. I love the art on the wall for sale, I loved the menu design and I loved that the first thing I saw was the black bean burger...great menu placement. I of course ordered it. There were other scrumptious looking veg options but like I said, I'm always looking for that perfect vburger. I convinced my mom to get the caramel apple pancakes and we split a mixed green salad and sweet potato fries. The pancakes were hands down the best in the area...period. They did. They also have almond milk. Soy usually tends to yield a more creamy consistency so that's what I asked for. It curdled. Booooo. I was thinking because they served it to me cold instead of steamed or warm. NOPE. Well, the assistant manager and fellow vegan comrade and advocate, Kele Webner, recognized us as the owners of a local Vegan restaurant, and she came over, greeted us and explained that it was the brand of soymilk that makes it curdle. True. She asked us how we felt about everything and I stated pretty much what I already wrote above. Kele taking the time out to come over and her knowledgebase was just the icing on the cake for me...This is definitely a new hangout for me and mines. I'll be back. Thank you. I want to love this place because it's local but whatever oil they cook with always taste old and rancid to me. The food is hit and miss. They used to have buffalo cauliflower tacos that were to die for but it's no longer on the menu. My last visit I tried the pastrami grilled cheese and it was terrible. Whatever they 'buttered' the bread with was awful. The pastrami was all fat. Note to management: Please change your cooking oil more often. Please use real butter on a grilled cheese. read more

This place gets 4.8 stars... It's really a fantastic little cafe/restaurant. I can't give it a full 5 cause some of the staff there (not all!) aren't super friendly and to me- a huge part of a restaurant experience are the people who work there. Also, both times I went, the waitress didn't ask if we needed or wanted anything else, they just brought the check so we could pay at the front on our own time, which is no problem. And then they disappeared and didn't come back and refill waters or anything. That being said- there are some really great and genuinely friendly and kind people who work here that took great care of me and my friend. Food comes out so quick, and it is DELICIOUS. I mean, it was so good that my friend and I went back for lunch the next day. We both loved the Tostada stack... Highly highly recommended! And it's gluten-free if you're looking for that option! This is my favorite brunch place in Delaware! I can't say enough good things about Greg and the staff at Drip. They are friendly, fast, and skilled, with the perfect amount of quirk. The food at Drip is inventive and delicious. While I almost always order an item off their weekly specials menu, great backups include the caramel apple pancakes or breakfast burritos. There can sometimes be a bit of a wait (including for the counter, which is not first-come-first-served), but ordering a coffee item from their baristas can make that time pass quickly. The coffee menu is extensive and includes rotating selections of single origin beans, fun latte flavors such as salted caramel and honey lavender, and multiple production techniques including drip and french press. I love sitting at the counter, where the constant bustle of the waitstaff, the rotating selection of wall art, and the hilarious labels on food equipment can be taken in. It's also a nice chance to meet a new person or two. :) read more

My daughter is a college student at Goldey Beacom. We were in the area and looking for brunch. We found this restaurant. I ordered the fried egg over kale with sweet potato hash. My daughter ordered the caramel pancakes. The food was delicious!!! The eggs done just right, the whole dish just came together. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her caramel pancakes. I don't know why I do these things because the whole ordeal always ends up being some super huge ordeal and at the end I feel like I did the guy a favor for even buying the shit. My scone tasted like crap. Super bullshit with no character. Hated the flour substitute and would more happily head to a Panera Bread any day of the week. Delicious buttermilk pancakes and bacon on our first visit The pancakes were fluffy and had a great fresh, homemade taste to them but on subsequent visits the pancakes became much flatter and much less satisfying. The bacon is crispy and good on most visits. They also have very tasty apple pie muffins and pretty good birthday cake ones that, despite what you'd think, just taste like a really good sweet muffin. The employees are very friendly and helpful and it seems clean and well organized for take out given what's going on. Drip Cafe is a recent discovery on one of my Philly trips this year. It's a nice little coffee house slash restaurant with an eclectic menu. My mother was with me on this trip and we had an excellent breakfast the morning we stopped in. When you enter the counter is on the right wall, and there's an area for coffee drinkers to sit, setup the laptop and use the free wifi, etc. Behind that area on the left is the more proper dining area with 2 seat tables and booths. Like I said the menu is a bit eclectic, and in my opinion, in a good way. I had a dish called Kale & Bacon Potato Hash. This is kinda similar to a breakfast skillet. It's served in a large bowl with potatoes, smoked bacon and sauteed kale and topped sunny side up egg and maple syrup. Trust me. It's delicious. Mom is unable to eat eggs and settled for the Caramel Apple Pancakes. These pancakes were huge and served with roasted apple, bacon and a house caramel sauce. She loved it. I grabbed a carry out menu before I left and it looks like they're open until most days until around 5pm. The full breakfast an lunch menus are also served all day long. They also try to purchase many of their ingredients as possible from partnerships with local farms and co-ops which is pretty cool. It used to be great, but honestly now it's just okay. I'm not sure what happened but the sandwiches and bacon and pancakes were my favorite but as of late they just don't taste nearly as good. The food is always quite good, fresh and high quality, the atmosphere is great and cozy. The only negative I would say is there cold brew coffee which often tastes bitter/old - I'm not sure if it's the blend they use or what. The cold brew with their homemade flavor options work in a pinch especially with their yummy foods, but alone, leave a bit to be desired. Service is always great. It was a pretty busy Saturday, but luckily we only had to wait about 15 min. For coffee I decided to try to Columbia pour over French Press, which was awesome!! My friend and I decided to order 2 meals to share. I ordered the NY Deli Benedict and my friend ordered the caramel apple pancakes. Both were delicious!!! The NY Benedict had incredible flavor but my favorite was the caramel apple pie pancakes! The pancakes had the best of both worlds sweet and savory, since the pancakes had bacon bits throughout the pancakes. Both meals were incredibly filling and we ended up having to take home leftovers. Great small brunch place located in lantana square. I went on a Saturday morning and it was filled-- says a lot about its popularity! The avocado toast with smoked salmon was good, but my order was customized with the fried egg instead of the scrambled egg whites. I had a side of bacon and it complimented the taste a lot. Visited for brunch today and it was pretty good. The apple pancakes were very good but it was a lot so I don't even think that I ate half. The scrapple was cooked very well however it was cold so the server replaced with some that was hot. My daughter loved her scrambled eggs with American cheese; she's serious about her eggs. She got the sour dough French toast but she didn't really like it but I think that was more of a personal aversion to the bread. The mimosa was more orange juice than champagne however the OJ was good and fresh so no complaints. The hot apple cider was very hot and yummy. The location was very clean and cozy!! read more

Not much different than you would get anywhere else. Usually you will have to wait awhile to be seated for a mediocre breakfast and service. They don't give coffee refills unless you ask. After your have finished your meal they take forever to bring your check. The staff who process your payment are why I have taken this from 3 stars to 1 - they are rude and obnoxious as if just because I am dining in Hockessin puts a feather in my cap. When your daughter works here and tells you that you are on the menu, you have to come! RJ brought me here for lunch the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend. We got there around 3:00 and apparently missed the crowd. I had to have the Banana Nutella milkshake which is thick, creamy Nutella heaven. We started with Sherry's Soup du Jour which was corn bisque. What a unique soup, it was like creamed corn with a kick. Yum! I ordered Matthew's Mum's Quiche which had crab and old bay hollandaise sauce with a side of greens. It was so good, I really loved the sauce together with the crab. RJ ordered the breakfast burrito with turkey sausage. That thing was huge! He only ate half, and the leftovers were even better the next day. They have very creative items on the menu.
