Unsure on how to explain the location of Babylon. It's in a sort of mini mall, where there's a gem store, hookah lounge and bead/jewelry making class. Walk a little further; you're almost there. Towards the back, is a small, mostly carry-out, mom and pop Iraq grill. There are only two tables, to the right of their entrance, situated in the mini mall. Owners appeared unable to describe the flavor profiles of their food/desserts. That's okay, since their bold flavors - spoke for themselves. The shawarma sandwich was not as I expected, though it was quite flavorful. I would have preferred to see and taste the textures of all ingredients listed: onions, pickles, tomatoes, pomegranate and tahini sauces, rather than have them stir fried, with the shawarma. Babylon's rice pudding was a total miss, with its mass of cinnamon atop, a gummy, thickish concoction, nut heavy, undercooked rice, kind of desert.

Love their food. I think this is the place make best kebabs in town. And such a lovely people, family operating the restaurant. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

    Babylon Duo 1 special

We had the Babylon duo special 1. It includes all 3 types of kebab, pita, an appetizer and dessert. All the kebabs were amazing. Another pro is you can eat under a cool tent-like structure in their adjacent hookah lounge if you don't want to do take out. The day we went, the pita tasted a bit sad aka prepackaged (not sure if they say they make them homemade or not) and the hummus was not my preferred taste profile. I would again just for kebabs! I'd still love to try the baba ganoush, schwarma, Turkish coffee and baklava!

I ordered the lamb+beef kebab and a turkish coffee, as you order at the counter and then the food is brought to you.

Not very many things on the buffet, although all of them were hot. The restaurant was very clean, and the ambiance was good. The service was good, although the gentleman who was working didn't seem to have a lot of English, which may be a problem in the future. He was very kind and helpful though, which is a plus. I think this place has a lot of potential. They've JUST opened, and haven't ironed out the kinks yet. I will definitely be back. Suggestions to the owners: 1. You need a Meze/Combination platter (I think this is Lancaster County's first Middle Eastern restaurant, people don't know what the food is, they want to try it without committing to the whole dish.) Maybe do a "Pick 3 appetizers" for $11.99 or something. 2. The buffet was bland, don't Americanize the spices,we can handle the real seasonings, this isn't overly spicy for us. I was quite surprised to see that some of the dishes hadn't even been salted. 3. Maybe some fusion ME/American dishes? There is a place that does Shawarma fries in Chester County. Best of luck! I think you're on to something.

Dinner and a show, I'm down! The show was good, but the food was just fine. Everything leaned too sweet for my liking. Our group of 4 got the $30 each 7 course family style meal. From the outside, it doesn't look like much; in fact, it looks like a bit of a dive from outside. But when you walk in, you are transported. The design of the restaurant is so special - community tables, pillows, tapestries, waterfall features, tiles, and belly dancing. The food was a little inconsistent. We shared many dishes: Bastilla (baked layers of filo dough, eggs, chicken, almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar); hummus (chickpeas, tahini, crushed garlic, lemon juice, sprinkled with paprika and olive oil, served with pita bread); Spanakopita; salad trio (eggplant salad, cucumber and tomato salad, and carrot salad); lamb tagine (stew of lamb, onions, and roasted peppers topped with honey and served with rice); Moroccan chicken with harissa cumin sauce; mujaddara (cracked bulgur wheat cooked with lentils and caramelized onions); and mint tea. I wish they didn't serve bottled waters, and the food was mostly good but not the most consistent. Our mujaddara wasn't served with the yogurt sauce listed on the menu, and the lamb with the tagine was incredibly fatty, making some of it inedible. The mint tea was really really really sweet - like syrup! I also wish the bastilla had a little less powdered sugar (I like on the dish, but it was A LOT of powdered sugar), and it was quite dry. But the eggplant salad, carrot salad, hummus, and mujaddara (even without the yogurt sauce) were great. I would happily have eaten just those dishes. They were busy - it's a popular place - but service was also a challenge. It took us almost a half hour to get the check and pay. I had to ask for the bill twice and then it still took a while to get it, for it to get picked up, and for it to come back to us. It's pretty bad if I'm considering walking up to the bar to get the check and pay. I loved the ambiance and the character. I loved that you can't tell how amazing it's going to be inside when you see the outside of the building - it's a surprise for sure. Our experience was that the food was a bit inconsistent, but it certainly was a fun meal.

I discovered this place from Yelp and am so glad that I did. I really like their shawarma platters. All of the meats (chicken, beef, lamb) are good. I am usually not a fan of lamb because of the games taste but it is not noticeable here. I like the hummus as a side and it comes with a delicious piece of bread, that smells amazing if you pop it in the oven for a few minutes. They also have an option to sub the rice for veggies in the platters. I enjoy dining in because the service and ambiance are nice. It is also convenient for take out. My only gripe is that they use styrofoam takeout containers so the hot food does burn into the containers, which releases toxic chemicals. Definitely worth a stop for food! I didn't hold out hope for battered fries, but they were surprisingly good for frozen fries. I didn't give them a 5 because of the hummus appetizer. The hummus was unnaturally smooth. It tasted fine, but whipped texture was a little disconcerting. Pita bread is kept is little plastic bags that they might microwave before serving. Bread is fresh and warm when you open the bag, but it degrades quickly.
