Nice old lady was the only person in this restaurant. She did it all . In the restaurant business, food storage and food safety is Paramount. The way food is stored and handling is unacceptable. The back door and front door was open with no screen on the doors . This created a atmosphere that was less than appetizing or clean. The old lady that was running around trying to get it all done probably can pull it off at her house, unfortunately as a restaurant it's an epic fail. The health department in any legitimate jurisdiction would close them down and offer suggestions on self correcting. A prep area in a restaurant should never serve as a chair . read more

This place is truly a gem--don't let the location in a strip mall off the main road deter you! Portions are quite generous--I have a huge appetite and always end up feeling almost grotesque by the end of attempting to polish off an order of food. It's truly delicious, quick and freshly made. The owner/chef is an absolute sweetheart. This is probably my go-to recommendation for Pottstown, since it's hard to find authentic middle eastern cuisine in general, and this is some of the best fare my Pennsylvania Dutch self has had. Keep an eye on their Facebook page! They post specials there that are UNBELIEVABLE. I just finished an order of Rice-Koftaah (beef ground with rice and other spices) that was so big they put it in two boxes, and this is what finally compelled me to write a review. Eat here. Great find in Pottstown, PA not too far off the highway! The soup was phenomenal and the presentation of my take out box was pure art! I've never had a take out meal look so beautiful! The flavor of the food is so delicious and I really enjoyed my salad as well and the price points are great! I do prefer my chicken to be more tender & I wasn't crazy about the texture of the hummus that came with the meal and in my opinion those two things can use improvement, though all else was perfection & I definitely will be stopping by again each time I pass through Pottstown. The food was really outstanding. The chef owner could not be nicer. But it's kind of dumpy. It was a really hot day and I don't believe they have air conditioning. The portions are large and the prices low. If this was anywhere close to where I live id eat here all the time. Went with a fried and had the Egyptian falafel. Real deal made with Fava beans. Totally great. Comes with Pita, fries, salad, fruit. Like $9. Also got the house special. $15 Grilled lamb, grilled chicken breast, Gyro meat, Salad , pita. Totally huge. Tremendous value. read more

Rarely have I seen a little cafe that has it all! Great side dishes AND the meat is superb. I had tahini and baba ganoush, as well as the lunch special, which included two kabobs, rice, a drink of your choice, greek salad and pita bread. Took home lentil and chicken noodle soup for later. I feel very fortunate that they are in easy walking distance from home. (Very friendly service, as well.) Wanted to try a new cuisine so I landed on this restaurant through the Yelp app. The menu had a variety of different foods. The Kufta was amazing and everything else we tried there was good too. I've been driving in past this place for a while and it's easy to miss. But finally noticed it and HAD to stop in, I order the falafel sandwich and fries. The falafel were crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. The sauce given were excellent to compliment the sandwich especially the cumin based spice dashed on the fries. Not only is the food good but the lady that owns and runs it is a sweetheart. I once ordered through GrubHub (never again) and they failed to deliver the entire order. I called the restaurant to verify it all went out and she said it did. I then called GH who refused to do anything about it. I'm only a few minutes from the restaurant and next thing I knew the woman herself brought me the hummus that GH didn't deliver. She made me a new one and brought it to my house!!! What a find! We were greeted by the owners when we walked in and immediately felt welcome. We each ordered the dinner special which included two beef or chicken kabobs, gyro meat, salad, pita, and rice. We could smell our food being cooked and eagerly anticipated its arrival! It came promptly and we were not disappointed. The beef was absolutely perfect! The salad had just the right amount of dressing, and the tzaki sauce complimented the gyro meat. Perfection! The owner alerted us that she had made rice pudding and we couldn't resist. Again, it was perfect. We needed a box because the portions were huge. This place is in a small shopping center and could easily go unnoticed. You will not be sorry if you take the time to find it. I know I will be back! Nice people, and delicious food! What an amazing surprise.... and how exciting to find this hidden gem. I'm from the area, but my husband is Egyptian. After moving back from the Middle East, we were craving his food. Thank goodness we found Cleopatra Cafe. She is an amazing cook. I especially like her special Tuesdays, where she offers a daily special. We've eaten the yummy Kofta sandwiches, her Egyptian falafel is like Egypt, the koshary is always great, her chicken soup is hearty and crazy good, my son loves her Molokhiya and tonight we had an Egyptian specialty called Kaware. It was wonderful. Even my husband, who is picky about his homeland's food, is so excited to eat her food. Bravo to Aunty Amira for her beautiful cooking. As soon as I walked in to Cleopatra, I knew my food would be amazing as it smelled wonderful. I got the grilled chicken meal and my mom ordered the kuftah meal, both of which were wonderfully seasoned. Both came with pita, rice, salad, baba ganouj and tahini, as well as the best part: the lentil soup! We could have also opted for chicken noodle, but the lentil was amazing! I wish I would have ordered more of it for later, but at least now I know for next time ... and there will definitely be a next time! read more

Awesome food. Big portions (our "Cleopatra Special Dish" was plenty for two and still had some leftovers for lunch tomorrow.) Very reasonable prices. We also had the Hallabessah soup which is primarily chick peas in broth, but you can certainly tell that the chick peas are not the "mushy" ones that come from a can, and the spices in the broth lingered on the tongue, but not enough to burn your mouth. Very tasty and flavorful! The Greek salad that was included with the entré contained nice chunks of feta cheese that were creamy and smooth and with just the right amount of salt--that you could taste, but not have it overwhelm the cheese. And the tzatziki sauce was fabulous--a perfect accompanimemnt to the pita chips for dipping. Very pleasant owner who was very accommodating to her new customers. Disappointed that I had not heard of this before now, but definitely will be a repeat customer. So great to know that this place is here and I look forward to trying more of their dishes! read more

My family and friends go here almost every weekend together. We really love Cleopatra. Amira is the sweetest lady. She's the owner and chef and truly cares about what she's doing -- you can see it and taste it in her cooking. The food is amazing. You will not leave hungry. The lentil soup is my favorite, but anything you try is bound to be great.
