Best breakfast sandwiches around. We love the basic bacon ,egg, and cheese. What sets this place apart from others is the QUALITY! Our sandwich had thick cut bacon, seasoned scrambled egg, and yummy American cheese on a fresh bagel. They also sell a limited assortment of baked goods as well. This Chocolate PB Bomb pictured was a 10/10!

My friend and I and our sons went this morning to this coffee shop and I loved everything about it. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind, the food was REALLY good and the coffee was perfect. It's so cute and cozy with a couple outdoor seats and indoor seats. If you're in the area, definitely stop by and check it out!

I am so thankful for Java & Friends in the area. I am not a Dunkin person and I was pleased to see a local shop in the area and even more pleased to learn that it tasted delicious. The owner is so kind and can work with any coffee order. Not be fooled either, they have a lot on their menu for food. Their breakfast sandwiches and bagels are delicious! I SO wished they were open on Mondays & Tuesday's and that there was also a drive thru. But, either way it's conveniently located for street parking and there is plenty of room in the shop to either enjoy your morning, work, or wait and take everything to go. FYI, they have little boutique items you can buy, including local art on the wall. We went ahead and bought the cookbook to support the local community. Also, the sign outside says "Java Bake & Co" it's the same place :) The inside (especially the ceiling) is beautiful- great aesthetic. Cannot wait to get to know the owner since I'm in love with iced lattes!!

Toasted marshmallow creamy Italian soda (they have MANY different flavors to chose from and you can also mix flavors!)

Java & Friends is such a great place to get food from! I recommend anything from their pulled pork quesadillas, to their chicken salad, to their creamy Italian sodas, to any of their desserts! I was a little skeptical going there because I had not been since the last owner BUT I definitely wasn't disappointed and will most definitely be returning and recommending this cafe to all my friends and family!

Beautiful weekend in southeastern Pennsylvania, and perfect for a drive in the country over hill…read moreand dale. We first headed west on the PA Turnpike, and then north on Rt. 476, the Northeast Extension to Route 63. Then through Harleysville, Green Springs and finally, Pennsburg; to our destination, The Valley Cafe. About 60 miles door to door. The rolling hills, farms and forests were peacefully resting in the comfortable heat of the day. Plenty of 19th Century farmsteads and even older stone houses that held the secret lives of so many generations. It was idyllic; almost a fully sensate daydream. The Cafe was nearly full when we arrive around 12:30. We were led to a table in the larger dining room and handed menus and Specials sheet. We ordered coffee with milk to start. Surprisingly, that translated into two separate requests here - coffee and milk. We only wanted milk to lighten the coffee, and explained that to the server who seemed confused that we hadn't asked for "creamers." Straightened out, he took one glass back and left us with the other to share. Breakfast consisted of Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs for me, and Southwest Scramble for the son. Mine was very good - with real beef, breadcrumbs the size of my hand nicely pan fried, and two over easy eggs on top, slowly oozing their golden yolks into the crisp breaded meat beneath. The home fries and rye toast were good accoutrements, but lost in the richness of the main components. My son was disappointed in his plate. Although there was plenty of egg, cheese, onion, green pepper and potato scrambled for consumption, there was really nothing "southwestern" about it. No jalapeños. No red chilies. No chili powder. Just a tiny plastic cup of salsa; inadequate to provide spiciness. He ate what he could, but left an unusual amount untouched. I gave him a chunk of my CFS to compensate which he liked. Service was fine for a busy Sunday. The place is extremely popular with lots of turnover and families/groups of friends socializing over breakfast, brunch and lunch. No doubt, well deserved. Our score with one success and one fail was what it was. We loved the trip, but would not make The Valley Cafe our destination again. 3.5 STARS

This historic location was a rest and play stop for literary and theater New Yorkers in the 20s and 30s and probably beyond -- check out the famous signatures and notes in the albums in the main living room. The owners keep a handful of rescued farm animals (pot-bellied pigs, mini ponies, goats), and it is clear they are well cared for. It is a busy place for big wedding events now, and so we like to stay during the week. It is very relaxing to walk around the grounds. We saw a giant heron in the pond and deer strolling. There are so many nice places to sit outside with a bottle of wine and a book or snacks. Rooms are very unique and comfortable. You have a lot of different personalities to choose from: lofts, cabins, barn spaces, etc. Many have jacuzzis which can provide your evening entertainment, lol. We have not eaten in the restaurant because our top restaurant on earth is very close by, but when it was closed, Josh gave us great recommendations. And he made a lovely tofu scramble for breakfast as a special request. One sweet touch: despite checking the room, we left without my spouse's expensive phone charger. Housekeeping found it and ran after us before we could drive off without it. She did not have to do that. Always tip your housekeeping staff. The extended Covid months have been very hard on inns, restaurants, and event spaces, and it must be stressful for them as things come back to life when so many events have been postponed. It is wonderful to be back out again. We will return -- a lot.

The Barley Sheaf is very serious about pandemic precautions, so masks are in full effect, and they'll walk you to your socially-distanced table in a beautiful, outdoor gardening setting. The inn itself is an architectural delight, as well, so you are surrounded by beauty on all sides. Service was pleasant and forthcoming. I wouldn't say that this is the finest level of dining, of course, you're not expecting EMP in the middle of Bucks County, but this is a good attempt, and people are pleasant and quite dignified. The guests were all well attired and the crowd is polite and kind. Food is of the adventurous character, which I enjoy. A lot of different flavor combinations (they like to do salé and sucré), beautiful plating, interesting textures, and good cooking techniques. My favorites were the octopus appetizer (so buttery soft and tender, which is a rarity) and the pheasant special, which was a pleasant and apropos surprise in this outdoor, country setting. Finally, this is a BYOB restaurant with perfectly selected wine glasses, fine silverware, and other special touches such as a freshly starched linens, etc. which elevate the dining experience.
