Bacon and cheese omelet with wheat toast.
Averrell H.

I've lived in quakertown since 2013 and in the time that ive lived here I've eaten at alot of breakfast spots and most are pretty good but this one is without a doubt great. From the outside it looks pretty small but they actually have a ton of seating. You walk in and your just overwhelmed by the smell off food. Partly because they're actually cooking the food right there when you walk in. As we walked by the kitchen area we were actually greeted by the chef which was really nice. Are waitress was pretty friendly but the ones who helped her bring our food over were awesome and full of smiles.they were super nice. I got a bacon and cheese omelet which was superb but I also love sweet stuff so I got pancakes and man they were 5 out of 5.I definitely can't wait to come back to this place and try more stuff from the seasonal menu.

Such a cute place! My friend recommended this place for our "it's been way too long" get together, and we were happy she did. We all enjoyed our food, and it has a nice relaxing atmosphere. Great place to catch up and gab! Our waitress and the staff members were all friendly, helpful and attentive. Check them out!

Peach Bourbon Pancakes

We were seated right away and our waitress came right over to get our order. We decided to try the specials, coconut pancakes, banana bread French toast, and peach bourbon pancakes. I did ask if they offered short stacks but they did not. We had plenty leftovers for breakfast.

Had higher hopes for this place. Went in with my Mom and sister for lunch. Mom is using a walker and hostess asked if we wanted upstairs or downstairs (no elevator)... Needless to say we sat upstairs and it was very loud with music and open kitchen talking. My short rib grilled cheese was delicious and my sister's seasonal chicken sandwich was good. However my Moms Myers lemon stuffed grilled cheese left a lot to be desired. It came out cold and bread tasted like it'd never been soaked before cooking and very little of lemon filling, asked the waitress if it was supposed to arrive cold and her reply: "maybe filling cooled it off" as she walked off. Service overall was subpar as I had to ask several times to get my iced tea refilled. I'll probably try a new place before I give this one another shot.

Whoa! Delicious pumpkin bread French toast for the win! If you are in the mood for a hearty breakfast, this is the place for you!! Nice staff too!

The food was good. Staff seemed very busy and trying their best to accommodate everyone. The layout is quite strange- you are eating downstairs or right next to the kitchen if at one of the three tables on the main floor. There is no waiting area. We had the rancho eggs, zucchini bread French toast, two sides of potatoes.

If you visit Philly this place is a MUST for brunch lovers everywhere!!! I had the short rib benedict and OMG!! The meat was so tender. Had we stayed longer we would've went back. So yummy!!!

First time having breakfast at the Karlton. We waited about 15 minutes and then were seated downstairs. The only downside is no windows and you feel like you're in a basement. Our waiter was very pleasant, but he was new and inexperienced. A little training for him and he'd be great. However, the food was absolutely amazing. Our coffee was served hot and our food came in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was fresh and presented nicely. We would definitely return but sit upstairs this time. This place is not about the frills, kind of eclectic and artsy. But good food - enjoy!

Karlton cafe is a great breakfast/lunch spot. They always have a changing seasonal menu and I always look forward to what they have because they do everything so well. It's a go to. I hope they bring back the sweet potato quesadilla for the fall because it is the best! Try if they have it!!!!

Gross!!! Can you even imagine the bacteria on this thing?

I really really really was hoping to give this place a 4/5 star review. I am a local, lived here pretty much my whole life. I've gone to the Karlton Cafe at least a dozen times. I'm not cheap by any means. I will pay good money for excellent food. But The Karlton Cafe is just not that great. It's absolutely filthy. I'm going to post the ketchup bottles. I didn't think restaurants were allowed to refill the bottles, but as you can see the grime and whatever else is growing on it was so freaking disgusting. My chicken salad wrap was fantastic. The house made chips on the other hand were completely burnt. I don't understand how the server didn't see how burnt there were or even how the hell they made it out of the kitchen looking the way they did. Also, not every sandwich should be made on a French baguette. I don't know if they think that it just makes their food that more "fancy" or what, but sometimes a soft bread is ok to use. And when we said something to the young lady taking our money how dissatisfied we were with the Short Rib French Dip, her response was (and I'm paraphrasing)... "oh, are you just used to the kind you get at diners?" Come on, really? Some customer service training could be helpful for that "hostess". I would say the only things they are good for is a big cup of coffee and a bowl of soup. Otherwise, go to The Proper Brewery for lunch across the street, Sundays for breakfast down the street, Earl's in Trumbauersville (brunch on weekends) or The Ram in Perkasie.

But what we got was breakfast awesomeness. It's small, with a cozy, "country" feel, as you might expect. Cute. Coffee was strong and plentiful, served in those great diner-style mugs that keep things piping hot for a good long time. Servers were totally on top of their game (the place was jumpin' so they really had to be) and all had that combination of "I'm super nice and glad you're here, but don't you dare slow me down" goodness. And the food? The food was fantastic! Each of the five people in our group got something different, and everyone was super happy with what they got, from cinnamon-raisin French toast with apple butter to a garden vegetable skillet to corned beef hash eggs Benedict. I went simple with a breakfast sandwich with a fluffy scrambled egg, thick-cut pork roll, and Cooper sharp on the lightest, airiest Kaiser roll I've ever had. And do no sleep on their thick cut bacon, which is meaty and delicious and coated in a buttery mapley goodness that tasted like Heaven. Things to note: they only take cash, and on the weekends, there's an hour limit (meaning you can't dawdle) so they don't have lines piling up outside. Breakfast for five of us was just under $80, so reasonably priced. We had a great time. And the next time we go, it'll be because it's just a great spot.

This historic location was a rest and play stop for literary and theater New Yorkers in the 20s and 30s and probably beyond -- check out the famous signatures and notes in the albums in the main living room. The owners keep a handful of rescued farm animals (pot-bellied pigs, mini ponies, goats), and it is clear they are well cared for. It is a busy place for big wedding events now, and so we like to stay during the week. It is very relaxing to walk around the grounds. We saw a giant heron in the pond and deer strolling. There are so many nice places to sit outside with a bottle of wine and a book or snacks. Rooms are very unique and comfortable. You have a lot of different personalities to choose from: lofts, cabins, barn spaces, etc. Many have jacuzzis which can provide your evening entertainment, lol. We have not eaten in the restaurant because our top restaurant on earth is very close by, but when it was closed, Josh gave us great recommendations. And he made a lovely tofu scramble for breakfast as a special request. One sweet touch: despite checking the room, we left without my spouse's expensive phone charger. Housekeeping found it and ran after us before we could drive off without it. She did not have to do that. Always tip your housekeeping staff. The extended Covid months have been very hard on inns, restaurants, and event spaces, and it must be stressful for them as things come back to life when so many events have been postponed. It is wonderful to be back out again. We will return -- a lot.

The Barley Sheaf is very serious about pandemic precautions, so masks are in full effect, and they'll walk you to your socially-distanced table in a beautiful, outdoor gardening setting. The inn itself is an architectural delight, as well, so you are surrounded by beauty on all sides. Service was pleasant and forthcoming. I wouldn't say that this is the finest level of dining, of course, you're not expecting EMP in the middle of Bucks County, but this is a good attempt, and people are pleasant and quite dignified. The guests were all well attired and the crowd is polite and kind. Food is of the adventurous character, which I enjoy. A lot of different flavor combinations (they like to do salé and sucré), beautiful plating, interesting textures, and good cooking techniques. My favorites were the octopus appetizer (so buttery soft and tender, which is a rarity) and the pheasant special, which was a pleasant and apropos surprise in this outdoor, country setting. Finally, this is a BYOB restaurant with perfectly selected wine glasses, fine silverware, and other special touches such as a freshly starched linens, etc. which elevate the dining experience.

Their pastry display is mostly locally sourced or made in-house. Very attractive in a down home way. I ordered the Breakfast Hash and large Java. The La Colombe was great and the meal was served in an aluminum foil lined plastic to-go box. It was composed of diced sweet potato, onion, green pepper and plenty of chopped sausage, with rye toast wrapped in foil. It was delicious with mix of savory and sweeter flavors and two over easy eggs on top slowly leaking into the mound of veggies beneath and adding their smoothness and subtle taste to everything. I sat at the shelf in the front of the store eating and watching kids with Easter baskets searching for painted eggs. It was obvious that Perkasie puts effort into being a family town. I can't recommend a single sandwich or salad because every single one was just perfect including the soups. Don't even get me started with the staff. They're so good. They are attentive, fast, kind, everything you would wish a waste to have to be when you're tired and hungry. They just deliver. So standing ovation to the kitchen and the staff. And the atmosphere is quaint and simple, not overdone and too cute. They have outdoor seating in the warmer months and there seems to almost always be aligned so going to yelp and getting yourself on the waiting list is probably super smart. I also tried the soup of the day which is the chicken corn chowder and I highly enjoyed it. It's a very small cafe and not much room to move about so when it's packed it gets pretty noisy. The couple things I want to note are around how long it was to wait for a table and food. We arrived in the area around 1125am and I called to place my name on the wait-list. Upon answering, the hostess informed me you have to place your name on the waitlist in person. No issue, I walked over to do this. Only to find out that the waitlist is monitored by Yelp, which can easily be done online. So that was very frustrating to see at the start. We then were told to wait 15-20 minutes. When we got to the front of the list, they then informed us that we needed to wait an additional 20-30 minutes as the kitchen needed to flip. This was very confusing and a big turn off. Eventually, I spoke with a woman who allowed us to come inside and sit down instead of waiting outside for over an hour. It would have been nice to know at the outset of this whole interaction that breakfast wasn't going to be an option and then it would be an hour before we could order and eat. At the end of the day, we ate our great food and enjoyed being able to dine at this place. I will just look into a few more places on my next visit here.
