Terrific across the board! It's funny how you end up at places sometimes. We chose Kathy's specifically for its location (halfway in between our house and a friend's), and that, other than the fact that they serve breakfast, was the only criterion. But what we got was breakfast awesomeness. It's small, with a cozy, "country" feel, as you might expect. Cute. Coffee was strong and plentiful, served in those great diner-style mugs that keep things piping hot for a good long time. Servers were totally on top of their game (the place was jumpin' so they really had to be) and all had that combination of "I'm super nice and glad you're here, but don't you dare slow me down" goodness. And the food? The food was fantastic! Each of the five people in our group got something different, and everyone was super happy with what they got, from cinnamon-raisin French toast with apple butter to a garden vegetable skillet to corned beef hash eggs Benedict. I went simple with a breakfast sandwich with a fluffy scrambled egg, thick-cut pork roll, and Cooper sharp on the lightest, airiest Kaiser roll I've ever had. And do no sleep on their thick cut bacon, which is meaty and delicious and coated in a buttery mapley goodness that tasted like Heaven. Things to note: they only take cash, and on the weekends, there's an hour limit (meaning you can't dawdle) so they don't have lines piling up outside. Breakfast for five of us was just under $80, so reasonably priced. We had a great time. And the next time we go, it'll be because it's just a great spot. read more

This is a quaint little place on 309 along a golf course. There is also a mini golf course and they have an ice cream window. It truly has country kitchen vibes inside, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The food tastes like home cooking and is pretty tasty! This is a quaint little restaurant off of 309 north of Quakertown. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is homey and kitschy. Great quality breakfast food and they surprisingly get pretty creative with some of their dishes. Even though there are lines out the door on the weekends due to somewhat limited seating, they turn tables around pretty quickly. We love this place and so do my kids. read more

I ordered 3 scrambled eggs, hash browns and dry rye toast. No meat! I got runny eggs, potatoes that were cold in the middle and a pile of bacon on top of the eggs. The toast was correct. I'm sure sometimes they're good, but this was the worst breakfast I've had at a diner ever. I would have been better off going to Wawa. No one even said anything to me after I sent back a plate with one bite taken out of it! That's hilarious. Who's running this place? I won't go back. One star, just for being open. read more

This place has a nice small mom-and-pop shop feel to it. The food was really good and the service was superb our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The portions were great for the money you spend, though I have never been a fan of charging for refills of drinks but its a small business, and I totally understand. I really enjoyed lunch here while visiting Quakertown! It lived up to the reviews for sure. Very friendly and quick service and the prices are great! I tried the Monte Cristo sandwich and had to get some onion rings. Loved both! The onion rings were house made for sure and the sandwich was super yummy! My aunt enjoyed her breakfast eggs and pancakes but we agreed the home fries were lacking some flavor. We also didn't know there was outside seating and wish it were offered to us because it looks beautiful outside but by the time we saw it, we were settled in. The outside does not look the greatest but the inside is cute and more spacious than you would think. We are inside because it was 94 degrees out. My husband ordered the country fried steak dinner that came with 2 sides AND a choice of soup or salad. He chose the lobster bisque which was out of this world- like "Soup Nazi" good. He didn't love the country fried steak....but he ate it all! I ordered the ranch French fries which was a meal in itself. It had real pieces of bacon and jalapeños mixed throughout (not just on top) and melted cheese- delicious for lovers of French fries! What you will find, is old fashioned, down-home cooking, in generous portions and served by a helpful, cheerful staff. I had the "Down The Lane Eggs Skillet." It was a piled high hot ceramic skillet with scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, sausage, bacon, pepper & onions. A side of rye toast, marmalade, and home fries, made it a very satisfying lunch. We were in the area from out of town & I researched a place my wife & I could get a good, quick lunch before hitting the road again. Kathy's caught my eye for some "home cooked country" food. This is a little dinner with an attached ice cream take-out. Yes, the staff were very quick & nice enough and they worked together to wait on us. The menu & meals are somewhat "plain & basic". We mentioned a food allergy concern & they did speak with cook so we adjusted out order. Unfortunately, the sandwich my wife got had a pile of fried onions rings on top of pulled pork, which was an item we couldn't eat. The pork was funky tasting so it was returned. I got a grilled chicken, ham & cheese. It came dry, no condiments, just meat & cheese. Unfortunately there was no condiments on table, asked for mustard, what I got was a little plastic cup of mustard. The mustard helped tremendously! You'd think they would know that!!!! The staff were very friendly. The meal was quick & cheap, but I don't know what the "Country" part refers to. The only cancellation prize was visiting the ice cream window before we pulled away. read more

The place is cute. Staff is good. There's parking. We always come for the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, just yummy. Their sides are lacking, mixed veggies just awful out of a can. I'm sorry but applesauce is not a side. On our last visit our party ordered other items. The cheese fries and regular fries were dry, not crisp and tasteless. The ribeye was not a ribeye I've ever seen before. A good portion of fat, barely 1/8 inch thin, with absolutely no flavor. The only reason there was nothing left on the plate when we left was because each of us wanted to sample it for some redeeming quality-which not one of us could find. Other entrees we ordered were uninspired. As I said we just love the meatloaf, but everything else we ordered was truly disappointing. If you're looking for quality fare, I'm sorry to say this isn't the place. The annexed ice cream shop isn't pretty but the ice cream is good! Excellent customer service - my wife had a craving for chocolate peanut butter ice cream, we were driving down 309 and I called them just after 9PM to ask if they had it. "Yes, we do, but we just closed". I told her we were outside and she said "How many scoops do you want?" It was the owner, all of the doors were already locked so she walked it around the building to our car and we paid her. 1 - she didn't have to answer the phone after 9PM and 2 - she personally came out to serve us. We have eaten breakfast here a few times, it's always been a nice meal. If you have not tried Kathy's Country Kitchen, you should. They care and they have great food. read more
