I recently had the pleasure of dining at Annamarie's on Main at 339 West Main Street in Birdsboro, PA, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! This spot manages to deliver a truly upscale, urban dining experience in a charming, small-town setting--it's a real gem that you have to check out! I ordered the fish and chips entree, and was honestly shocked by how generous the portions were. Served on a bed of french fries, the dish included not only the fish, but also about a half-dozen good-sized battered and fried shrimp, plus a hearty serving of clam strips. It was almost a meal for two! The plate was well-presented, and everything tasted fresh. The small house salad with blue cheese dressing that came with it was also a refreshing addition. If you're looking for value and flavor, this place delivers! What truly sets Annamarie's apart is the level of detail they put into the dining environment. The ambiance is wonderful--it feels both professional and warm. They feature cloth table cloths and real fabric napkins, which is a rare and welcome touch these days, along with quality tableware that has a nice heft to it. The walls are decorated with museum or gallery-quality black and white photography of local facades, which adds a lot of character and local flair. The entire presentation of the diner was flawless, and the restaurant was impeccably clean. Another unique feature I loved was their offering of locally made Kodiak brand soft drinks! Our server was truly excellent--both attentive and incredibly helpful. She offered the daily specials and took the time to explain each dish. My dinner partner was having trouble deciding between three different entrees, and our server patiently helped her talk through the options and make a perfect choice. The entire staff was professional and clearly cared about the dining experience. I can enthusiastically say that I absolutely recommend Annamarie's on Main! If you're looking for a upscale dining experience in the Essex Township area, you really have to give these folks a try. The menu is unique and spans everything from salads and seafood to steaks, burgers, and wings. I definitely plan to return, and soon, so I can work my way through more of their truly unique menu offerings!

We love love love love coming here! Portions are amazing, food is always good and the staff are so kind! We arrived right at the beginning of dinner and avoided the rush. We ordered the French fry board and it fed our family for 6 and we had lefts overs to bring home. It was an amazing spread of joy! The kids loved the marshmallow sauce. It was definitely a treat for our family and we felt so full after eating it. The kids had the pasta and chicken tenders meal. They of course loved it and the chicken had the perfect crisp! We ordered the wonton appetizer, it was light and very tasty. For our chicken meals, they had side salads to start and they were good, better than just iceberg lettuce salad, this one had spinach and all the healthy mix ins. The Parmesan chicken meal was not the best, and I would not recommend it, but every other meal we had here was flavorful and just delightful to eat!

We tried Anna Marie's in Royersford years ago. The food was delicious but the restaurant was extremely crowded. While we had off for a few days, we decided to venture to try different restaurants so we decided to try the new location. The restaurant looks nice. When we went there were only 5 other tables occupied. If it was a weekend, I am sure the restaurant would be crowded. The tables are very close together. There were menus on the table but they were different. When we asked our waitress which one to use she said we could use either. I overheard a waiter at another table explaining the difference between the menus but our waitress did not go through the differences. We ordered the Fluffernutter French Toast and Chocolate Coconut pancakes. They were delicious.

The night we were there, sweet pea soup, escargot, pierogis, mussels, arugula salad, filet mignon, John Dory, walleye, and a crab/pasta dish were on the menu. * Pricing is actually rather reasonable, between $14-22 for the app courses, and $32-52 for the 4 mains. It's BYOB, so that's a big savings as well. These sort of small scale restaurants that are a labor of love are getting harder and harder to find. The atmosphere is intimate, casual, and personal (fellow diners overheard that we forgot to bring a wine and they gave us an extra bottle they brought with them!). If you find yourself in Pottstown--as we did, make a point of going to Henry's. And ask Frank why he called his restaurant "Henry's"... (hint: it has to do with doors).

Located a bit out of the way in the Flying Hills golf course, but worth the drive. Sports bar- Eagles vibe w/ a decent draft list. The kegs weren't working (seems to happen at every bar we attend these days) but still enjoyed a Mike & Merrill Philly Hazy IPA. Wings a good size, crisp, you know, the way wings used to be before everyone started charging an arm & a leg & serving broken pigeon wings. Classic "Buffalo" sauce & blue cheese dressing were good. FINALLY tried famous Caramel Burger (which I missed several times at the Hamburger festival). It did not disappoint. Good size, flavorful patty, & what these people do best- the bacon jam & caramelized bacon. The sweetness of the onions sings thru. Order it! Husband ordered seasonal special Frikadellen/Bratwurst Smash Burger. Skipping right to it- the cottage fries. (Gracie's/Louie's if you had this all the time we'd have no beef! LOL) INCREDIBLE! Crisp, thin, tender, amazing. If you follow me you know I am over the frozen fries served at every eatery in this country. Finally, amazingly pleasant, genuinely happy, server- Reese. She was on my side throughout this whole foodie journey, even the beer & burger mishap (initially burger served w/o cheese sauce). She's a keeper! We'll be back & will spread the word! Till then, stay on your toes! Thank you Louie's for a great meal.

The hostesses were very apologetic however (apparently the party before us was taking an incredibly long time), and both they offered to seat us either outside or at a high-top table and gave us complimentary prosecco, so I don't fault them for this. The main entrance to the place is pretty cool, as it really highlights the rustic vibe and there was a waiting area that had a 3-person band playing classical music when we came. However, other than this room the fact that the place is a restored log cabin isn't really apparent. The food was all very average. We came here on my birthday weekend, and they had a small folded paper on the table saying "happy birthday" (that they must reuse because the inside said "happy anniversary") and their was a small baggie of chocolates. It seemed like almost everyone there was celebrating something, as I saw these on most of the tables

The setting is absolutely beautiful. Their outdoor terrace overlooks a scenic garden area that looks like it might even host weddings--it's that picturesque. The ambiance is peaceful, charming, and ideal for a relaxing weekend meal, whether you've just finished a bike ride or are simply looking for a quiet dining spot in Marietta. The menu had a lot of fresh, well-crafted options, and the cocktail list was fun and inventive. I tried the lavender lemon drop, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well the lavender complemented the classic citrusy flavor--an elegant twist on a traditional drink. For dinner, I went with the jalapeño cheddar burger, which was flavorful, juicy, and made with noticeably fresh ingredients. The fries were crisp and satisfying, while my mom and sister-in-law each opted for different sandwiches paired with house salads. They raved about the house-made vinaigrette, which had a fresh, tangy balance. We also started with the whipped feta dip and gouda mac and cheese--both were delicious. The feta was creamy and flavorful, and the mac had a rich, smoky bite to it. Our Entrees looked so delicious that I forgot to snap a photo beforehand. Service was excellent. Our waitress was knowledgeable about both the food and drink menus, and her suggestions were spot on. In terms of value, I was really impressed. With so many places these days serving tiny portions at high prices, Railroad House Inn stands out as a restaurant that delivers quality, fresh ingredients, and generous portions at a fair price. All in all, this was a five-star experience. Great food, beautiful location, warm service--I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area, especially after enjoying the nearby Northwest Lancaster County River Trail.
