    steak tips w/ homemade pasta

LOVE Fork & Ale! it's so close to where i live and my family and i go often. most recently, i've tried their special steak tip homemade pasta in a creamy garlic sauce with mouth watering mushrooms. i got the purple gin pea flower drink and it looked GORGEOUS!!

Pan-Seared Steelhead Trout: Basil lemon gnocchi (more like spätzle), local zucchini and tomato, elderflower butter sauce (more like a broth)

My experience with Fork & Ale has been hit & miss. I've had fish tacos that are very good, and my boyfriend has elk with a killer au jus. But the trout dish was ... confusing? It did taste good, but the "gnocchi" was more like spätzle (which came in lots of tiny bits plus one giant, grizzled clump) and the "butter sauce" was basically a broth (which did little to cling to or flavor the fish). The service is kind, and the spot gets bonus points for having hop water and a few nonalcoholic beers. The outdoor seating & outdoor bar are nice, and it's one of the few restaurant options that aren't either fancy high-end or Italian or diners.

Still love this place. The nachos were sooo good. I couldn't stop talking about how much I loved them on the drive home. You just know there's a high level of talent and attention in the kitchen. And lots of love

    Trout dinner was delicious!

Love this place! So cute, eclectic and just a little fancy inside; amazing chef creative menu! The brews are great also! Nice night catching up with an old friend! Thanks!

Ask the Community - Fork & Ale

Are they doing any desserts? I didn't see any on their current menu.

Yes. Server will recite at end of meal. Tonight they were offering creme brulee and carrot cake

Is this owned by the same people who own Craft Ale House in Limerick, PA?

Yes, this is their sister company and just as good!

Each of us ordered a beer (I ordered an Icelandic one, which was quite nice), pretty great price on beer IMO, and the food was on point as well. I ordered chicken wings with buffalo sauce, and they tasted great! I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

Chopped salad was a nice size and was filled with toppings. Sticky toffee pudding was the best thing we ordered. Now for service: Server was friendly and helpful with questions we had. But the pace of the staff is like watching paint dry. I'm sorry folks - a lot of walking around looking busy but at a slow pace and the food was really slow to arrive. I think it's overrated - or else people with money have low standards for a great place to eat. The crowd seemed like classier people but they must have money and time to burn because I was not impressed enough to patronize it again.
