We ordered an order of Fish and Chips, the fish looked like 3 fish sticks that were burnt and also a ham n cheese wrap with Cole slaw, the wrap was crispy definitely not fresh and the cheese I ordered wasn't put on the wrap! There is nothing wrong with this place that I gave it 3 stars other than it didn't have the "wow" factor for me. It was pretty much what I expected as far as wings, fries and beer go for a pub style experience. I will say the prices were awesome! We ordered 2 dozen wings. We got the creamy garlic, parm pepper, red white blue and hot. If you like your wings on the saucey side like we do, they'll bring you extra sauce. The fries were good and always a nice compliment to wings. The salad was a big size for a small and the Blue Moon drafts on tap were only $3.50 ... total bill not including the tip $38! They have so many flavors and even some signature ones so there will be a return trip in store next we are in Pa! Service was great and the Local patrons were awesome and just doing their thing. Late on a Friday night I got a craving for some wings so the Mrs. and I stopped in for a drink and a quick bite. The downstairs was closed so we sat at one of the three small tables in the bar area and ordered from the pub menu. The place was packed with friendly locals so service naturally was a bit slow but the bartender apologetic and very cool. Our cocktails came in large iced tea glasses and were not too watered down. The Mrs. ordered the peel and eat shrimp served hot which came with a very spicy, clear your nasal passages, cocktail sauce and a basket of fries that were properly cooked for hand cut. I ordered my dozen wings and hot sauce which although huge were cooked barely to the border of not being raw and not crispy enough for me. Fantastic small town pub. If your looking for the true meaning of a local pub, this is it. 11 local/ typical beers on tap. Plenty of bottle beers as well. Food is great. Pub fare but perfect for eating in the environment of drinks. It's small so not good for large parties but they do have a patio upfront which on good weather days gets packed. My family was staying in Shillington while passing through to a reunion of my 93 year old wheelchair bound mother with her 89 year old brother who lives in rural Virginia. I had chosen Flanagan's pub to have dinner and called while we're on the road to confirm that we would be able to get into the restaurant and that they had a handicapped accessible bathroom. The person who answered the phone ended up being our server, Madison, and she took my reservation stating that they had a lower entrance which would be made available for us and the bathroom was on that same floor. The reason I had chosen the menu was because it had so many items that my picky travelers would like. The Philly steak eggs rolls were divine as were the chicken tenders. I had a French dip sandwich with a pint of Guinness that was delicious. My mom had a chicken sandwich and my daughter had her favorite Kraft Mac and cheese. We finished by sharing the Baileys Cheesecake.! Thank you again Madison for making our stay in Shillington so nice. The pub was nicely decorated with paintings done by a local artist along with old photos of historical significance. Thank you to the cooks for the delicious meal and so glad the Eagles beat the Rams. I will return again on future trips again and would recommend the lovely pub in a heartbeat. read more

Came back here again. A lot of new faces working the bar etc. Great to see that! I hated coming in here at the bar and dealing with the older short blond lady who has been here for years! The one with the tight jeans. She always made me feel so uncomfortable. If we didn't order something at the time when she wanted To take our order/drinks she would purposely make us wait and nearly beg to get service. We would always turn around and leave the bar if I saw she was working. Her name was meagan. She might still work there (blah). ((UPDATE, she still works there, on the day shift! I walked in yesterday afternoon, seen her, and left immediately!)) I always felt weird about the food when she was serving it to us too, in a non trusting way. Any how, it was great to be here again with a new friendlier customer service oriented staff. The 2 guys working the bar were extremely attentive with food and drinks! We ordered our favorite, the wings. The wings took a bit to arrive but when they did they were cooked perfect like I had asked them to be, extra crispy with sauce on the side! The food here is always so unique and delicious. We enjoy coming here very much! The calamari was very delicious as so was the cheesesteak sandwich made with a slab of tender juicy dinner steak! They have a salad here that is served with a ball of goat cheese that is encrusted with almonds, deep fried and then laid upon the bed of lettuce! It is so damn good with blue cheese dressing! This place was a complete surprise. I expected a bar, but instead it's a nice little restaurant/bar with some very upscale food. My sister, not known for being a veggie-lover, tucked into a plate of roasted Brussels sprouts with so much satisfaction. I ordered oysters-on-the-half, a first for me. I knocked off a star because they were not cleaned well and a downed a couple pieces of shell. We finished off with the funnel cake fries - yummy! Note that the plate is big and rich enough to be split by more than two people. For drinks, I had the Wharf Rat and would do that again. Sneaky little bugger, Rat waited until I was done with the glass to let me know his strength. My sister, ever the adventurer, went all "vodka and cranberry"...even the name inspires a yawn. If it ain't broke, I suppose.... The atmosphere is casual to almost a little divey. Parking lot is small, we parked on-street (brush up on those parallel parking skillz!). Service was fast and a little more friendly than many places in this "Philly bedroom community". I'm looking forward to coming back for some of the other menu options! read more

Great food. We were seated outside but had to be moved inside due to an impending thunderstorm. We were told their awning has previously been damaged during a storm and the need to retract it when there's bad weather. No biggie. However, while we were out on the patio it was very noisy. All the local street urchins with their primered and rusted Honda Accords must have thought I was Gran Prix night. Sit outside if you must but remember that Lancaster Ave is a busy road a lot of the time. This is not some quiet sidewalk cafe on a quaint street. Service was great up until we were done and wanted to pay the bill. The waitress (yes, all you PC numbnuts, I said waitress) was skilled at avoiding eye contact. So I had to stand up, walk over, and get her attention to get the bill. No biggie, just odd. It had been 29 years since the last time I was here and it's a mile from my house. I drive by all the time and it's a popular spot. When it's busy and you're having date night I wouldn't go here expecting a cozy, romantic, quiet experience. read more

This place has good food. I went there today and waited to be seated. I stood there for 10 minutes and the bar tender ignored me. Finally she said, can I help you in a confused way"! I give a 3.5 for the food however a 1 star for the terrible service provided by Karli. We were ignorantly greeted by Miss Karli by asking her if we could close the blind because the sun was blinding. Her response. "Uhhh, yea i guess" Then proceeds to say in a smart ass tone, "i mean, it is a nice day out". We should have just left at that point but we stayed thinking she was just having a moment. Not the case. She continued to speak to us in a very rude tone and was not friendly at all. In fact, there was a table behind us that said the same thing as she treated them this same way. My husband and I went into Flanagan's for the first time last Friday night. We recently moved about a mile away, so we figured we would go for drinks and give it a shot. The atmosphere was fun. There was live music and a good crowd for such a small spot. I saw the male bartender incorrectly pour a Guinness and that made me cringe BUT most people wouldn't give two hoots about that. The female bartender spoke so highly of the cook and the food that it peaked our interest. We went back in the next night to have an early dinner, and the food was awesome! I had a pork tenderloin special (brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, balsamic drizzle), and it was delicious! It had a lot of sauce which I normally don't like, but to my surprise, it only made the dish better! My husband had a pulled pork brisket sandwich with waffle fries. He loved it and of course I tasted it also :). Our friends had a burger and "build your own pasta" and both thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. I'm sorry to read some people had a bad experience. I have never had anything but a great experience at Flanagans. It's good bar food. The wings are good. I eat there about twice a month. If you don't want to wait I recommend a reservation because they are always full. My husband and I tend to eat at the bar. Drinks were very good. Food not as much. We had very underdone food. Burger was raw when ordered well done. The fish and chips were tiny and soggy. Pierogies were cold. Chicken fingers were underdone that some were raw in the middle. Kind of scary for that one. Not going back even though a friend lives in walking distance. read more
