We LOVE to take our trip to the Creekside Pleasantville Diner! We happen to always get their breakfast food, but I'm sure their lunch options are just as delicious! When getting a pancake know that it will be the size of your whole plate... so go with only one. Our favorite pancake is blueberry, chocolate chip!! Yummmy! They offer regular or cinnamon butter for your pancake. I usually get the veggie omelette with their spicy sausage patties on the side. Their sausage patties are the real deal, NOT the commercial style junk you can get elsewhere. My husband usually gets the Denver omelette. He loves the type of cheese they use in it, and the omelet has a nice kick with the jalapeños added. My friend enjoyed the spicy road block omelet. Their omelets are a good size, they come with your choice of potatoes, and toast. Another suggestion if you REALLY have an appetite is the cowboy or cowgirl special! Or just take half of it home for breakfast tomorrow. :) When they serve you tea they give you a nice size teapot to fill your cup. I love it! The restaurant itself is a local, hometown feel. The prices are reasonable in my book. The service is friendly and service oriented. We drive about 35 minutes just to go here, and it NEVER disappoints! Never in my life did I have to wait 1 1/4 hours for breakfast, but we did here. This was our first visit and we chose this place because of of the reviews. The place was crowded when we arrived, but it only took about 10 minutes to be seated. The place looks like the 1950s and there was junk for sale right inside the door (2 lids for pots but no pots, used and dirty children's mittens, etc). It took about 10 minutes once we were seated to even get silverware or a menu. During that time I noticed there were hand written signs every where, even ot the counter which said the item for sale and some of them had the prices on them. (That should have been the first sign.) The waitress was very pleasant and took our order shortly after we got our menus. I had eggs. toast, and hash browns and my husband had the Texas meat lovers scramble. After almost an hour I asked our waitress where our meals were. She checked and came back to tell us it would still be 15 minutes. She also said the kitchen was small and there were only 2 cooks, and they got backed up cooking for the large tables. I only saw 1 or 2 tables that sat more than 4 people. When our food finally came It was very good, and my eggs were cooked perfectly. The prices were very reasonable. This place is less than casual, the way people were dressed and the old decor made it look like a dive. Because of the wait time and the fact no one told us about how long it would be to get our meals we will not go back. It was not worth the 1 1/4 hour wait, especially because we live 25 minutes away. Have eaten here a few times, food is pretty good and portions are large. Our last trip in was not pleasant due to having to listen to the owner complain and unprofessionally criticize her employees in front of their co workers and patrons. The waitress argued with us that they did not have real maple syrup when not only does it say that they do on the menu, but we have ordered it there with breakfast in the past. At the end of our meal when my husband paid the check the owner was still complaining about something to a coworker, took the payment handed my husband his change without even looking at him or thanking him. read more

Arrived at 10:00 on a Sunday morning with a total of 4 and we were seated right away! Wasn't really packed so it was great. Hidden away in the oley valley this place is a GEM! Huge menu with so many variations and options. Pancakes are HUGE... try the cinnamon butter with them! Fantastic. We all enjoyed our breakfast with no complaints other than the booths were a little uncomfortable, but we came for the food not the seats! read more

Excellent food and service. A large group of us (25+) had breakfast here and it was very well organized. I had pumpkin raisin walnut pancake which was delicious. One server for all of us but she was excellent. Our coffees were always filled. I brought enough home for two more breakfasts! Their spicy sausage patties are home made and amazingly good! read more

I stopped in this restaurant for the first time a few weeks ago. I never even knew the restaurant was there. I had a great lunch with my friend. I debated about getting desert. Waitress told me they had a wonderful chocolate cake. I am kind of picky about my cake but I decided to try a slice. This cake was amazing. Chocolate cake with vanilla icing. I was told it is an old recipe and the cake was made from scratch. Hard to fine homemade desserts when you go out nowadays. Not only was the cake wonderful but the staff seem to really care about their customers. This restaurant is worth the drive for me I'm definitely coming back. read more

This place is great. A true hidden gem in Berks County. I love that it's attached to an auto garage too. When you go inside you feel like you're a big rig trucker trucking through Texas. I would love to give the Creekside Diner 5 stars but the owner there is always miserable. She is the first person I interact with every time we go and she always seems like she has an attitude, like we are annoying her by showing up at her restaurant. Generally the waitstaff is extremely pleasant but also the lady who buses the tables seems to have attitude also. My family and I go there at least once a month for years now because the food is for the most part pretty good, every once in a while we do get a really bad meal there but the waitresses make it right for us. There are not a lot of choices in the area for dining, so we keep going. Also it's often unbearably hot in there at times, especially in the spring and summer (if you complain nothing will be done but you will be given black looks by the owner) and the upholstery really needs to be kept up with lots of cracked vinyl. read more

The eggs Benedict is THE best I've ever had. Anywhere. Including fancy hotels. The French toast with cinnamon butter is fantastic. They often have new and interesting specials. We love it here and so does everyone we've ever recommended it too. The reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because there is always a weird assortment of stuff for sale when you come through the door. It's like a yard sale in a diner. It's strange to me a bit off putting. It makes the place look cluttered. I overlook it because the food is great and so is the service. That is what we are there for after all. It would just look a lot nicer if they cleaned up that space along with all the unused "stuff" behind the register. read more

I really like this place. It's a great stop for breakfast- huge menu, good prices, tasty food and lots of variety - everything from eggs to a daily quiche. I love the kielbasa and cheese omelette, SOS, and eggels. Lots if great pancakes for the kiddies and hubs love the biscuits and gravy and the eggs Benedict. The parking lot is shared with two other shops next to it and doesn't have enough parking for everything. This place was okay inside, decent atmosphere and nice coffee but the downsides of it outweighed the positives. We ordered prob at 12:06 and it is 12:44 and still haven't received our food. That is rediculous. The diner isn't busy so there is no excuse for us to have not our food. We saw 3 other groups with more people come in more than 15 mins after us but still get their food before us. We ordered 2 omelets and that was all. This should not take that long to make.
