Well, the food is still outstanding, 12 days later, toilets have not been replaced and are still not flushing. Walked into a wad of TP and pee in the toilet. I didn't bring it to their attention this time. I just changed my instructions to make my food to go, instead. Anyway, not sure if they read yelp reviews, but they should. I don't want to say more, in person, because then I would be uncomfortable to even order take out. They could even decide not to serve me. They have that right. I'd be sad because the food is soooo good! lol The ambience is fair, the music is way tooooo loud. That might be nice for the chefs and staff. It is awful for the diners. Nobody ever wants to say anything. I cannot be the only one who feels this way. I should not have to talk very loudly to the person sitting next to me, let alone across from me. I had never frequented New Egypt Kitchen before, but my wife & Mother In Law had been (for breakfast, a couple of times). Shortly after entering this establishment, I realized I had dinner in this building before, but the last time was several years ago (was Naples Pizza & Pasta back then, in 2018). Everything had changed, decor was simple and rustic now. Anyway, we ordered lunch. Conversation between us was strained because the music was a bit loud (albeit, it was a decent genre, 70's & 80's Rock). It took a while for the meals to arrive to our table, even though only one other table was occupied at that time in the restaurant. Our waiter was a bit inattentive also (or maybe inexperienced ?). I had to get up to ask him for some plates for our mozzarella stick appetizer, some ice in my wife's Iced Tea, a bottle of ketchup for my Mother In Law's French fries, and the coleslaw that was suppose to come with my Mother In Law's meal. Food was alright though, not great, but not horrible either. I don't agree with the 4 & 5 Star reviews for this place though, maybe breakfast is better, but that certainly wasn't what I experienced yesterday during our lunch. I imagine I still might be back someday, because it's close to where my Mother In Law lives and there really isn't a lot of choices nearby. A weak 3 Star Rating for now, I'll write an updated review when we return for breakfast sometime. read more

Traveling on Rte 539 near New Egypt and found this charming little place for lunch! The menu was surprisingly varied. I had the most delicious cheeseburger with onion rings and my companion had soup and sandwich. Both were excellent. A real find! read more

As a new resident of this quant town, my family and I have been on the hunt for quality restaurants. I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately I will not be returning. The food was not good at all. The service wasn't bad, the girl was nice enough but the food was just bad. We left there very dissatisfied. It's a very small restaurant with little seating. We were recently visiting my parents that live in the area and they said they wanted to take us to their new favorite breakfast spot. The New Egypt Kitchen is great! Since we don't live in Jersey anymore, my daughter and I both picked meals with pork roll. I had the pork roll eggs benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached, and their hollandaise had just the right amount of lemony goodness Their portion sizes are amazing, which meant I had leftovers and breakfast for the next day! My daughter enjoyed her pork roll egg and cheese, the roll was just the right texture. I honestly don't remember what my parents ordered, I was too focused on my amazing meal to pay attention. I know they both enjoyed their food too though. The waitress was super sweet and kept our coffee topped off, which is always appreciated. This is a family run business and they treat their customers right. My only complaint is that the bathroom was freezing! It was clean and serviceable, but also so cold. read more

New Egypt Skillet - Pork Roll, Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Hash Brown and Toast - Bacon was burnt, but other than that, nothing special, it was just ok Corned Beef Hash - the corned Beef was not as crispy as I would like. The grilled tomatoes were barely grilled. Again, nothing special. It was just edible food. We were on our way to Six Flags and went a bit out of the way to try some place new. First time there. Brittany was a delightful server and the menu is fairly simple but also almost overwhelming with its impressive offerings. We had the Long Tour (chicken parm, raviolis, and fettucine alfredo) and a delightful shrimp dish with choice of soup or salad . . . both at quite reasonable prices . . . very good but we needed to take some of it home and they provided excellent plastic containers and a quality handled bag to take it home. Let me be fair -- the food was actually good. Credit where it's due. But unfortunately, the service came with a side of attitude that left a bad taste. We were given a completely different cup for no clear reason, waited way too long for our fries, and when they finally arrived... there were fifteen. Yes, I counted. That's not "small," that's stingy. The way we were treated felt less like a mistake and more like a choice -- as if the staff simply decided we weren't worth the same courtesy as everyone else. My husband and I have been there numerous times for breakfast and absolutely loved the food & the service. Plenty to eat. The prices are great & the waitress always pleasant. So we decided let's try it for lunch. We were again totally pleased great portions and we even got to meet the cook. He is also very pleasant and once again not disappointed in the food or the service. Went to the New Egypt Kitchen today for the first time with a few friends around 3-3:15pm. Some constructive advice for the restaurant: 1) As new patrons we had no idea we could order breakfast, lunch or dinner regardless of the time we were eating. We were given the "lunch menus" and that is all we thought we could choose from. After ordering from that menu, we learned, we could have ordered from the "dinner" menu. Suggestion, ask your customers what menus they want to view. Might be all three. 2) One of us ordered a cheeseburger on white bread and the other three of us ordered "hot open faced sandwiches" (which are normally served on 2 pieces of white bread). We were told due to a busy breakfast session that morning, there were only 2 available pieces of white bread available. We observed a store not far from the restaurant. Once they noticed they were about to run out of white bread, someone should have gone over to the store and bought some back to the restaurant. It's always the small things that make for a less than favorable experience and this could have been avoided. read more

My Wife and I had dinner at the New Egypt Kitchen, and I must say we enjoyed our visit. Our Server was Gracin, and she was very pleasant and engaging. Gracin recommended the Stuff Pork Chops, and it was some of the best I have ever eaten. On this evening the place was busy, but I notice the wait staff keep things moving and I for one was very impressed. This is going to be a long review to understand the whole situation so I'm sorry in advance. My sister and I drove a long distance with 5 kids. Two girls (4,5) had to pee. My sister was also feeling sick. This restaurant was the first place we passed in at least 15 minutes. My sister runs inside with her daughter first and I come in with the other 4 a bit after. I'm asked if I want a table and I say no thanks (we all have a vicious viral infection coughing and sneezing like crazy so no we weren't going to stay and eat) I'm waiting on my sister in the bathroom. So I walk over to the hallway (which only has one men and one women stall so it's super small hallway) I'm keeping the kids out of the way of everyone the best I c can while trying to help my sister (who is having an allergic reaction). A different worker comes to me and says bathrooms are for customers only and we HAVE TO buy at least our kids drinks. And walks away. Meanwhile I have 5 kids I'm trying to keep quiet and calm. The entire time I'm standing there with the kids, the chef is leaning over from the kitchen staring at me and pointing and yelling at his coworkers. At this point I'm pissed and want to just leave. So my sister comes out and we get a table. My sister has to go outside and walk around and ends up getting sick. While she was outside the waitress kept asking what we want and I just ordered drinks. She asked me about 5 times "is that all you're getting". So I said "I want to get a kids order of nuggets and fries for the kids to share" and she says "okay 3 orders of nuggets and fries and I say no no, just one for them to share...she aggressively crosses out what she wrote and redid the order. Later my sister ordered the same thing for her kids and the waitress says "we don't have a kids order of chicken nuggets." i have a picture of the kids menu with that as an option. They tried everything to charge us as much as possible for using the restrooms in an actual emergency and assuming we weren't going to stay or buy anything. our bill was over $50 for two chicken nugget orders and three fry orders. I've never felt this uncomfortable in a restaurant before. read more

We tried this local diner which just opened up about 2 months ago. I must say we were very happy with our experience! The place is very cute and so clean. The bathrooms were immaculate and to add more positives, the food we ordered was spot on. Granted, it was early afternoon so we decided to have a late breakfast, but everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. I think people should give it a try! read more

Popped in for a late breakfast/ early lunch. First we had to stop and admire all the beautiful flowers in the front garden. Nice ramp entrance for my friend instead of using the steps. One young lady seats, serves and does register. Dad's in the back as chef. We had western omelets with home fries and all delicious. I can't remember when I had home fries seasoned so well! Yummy. The menu has regular fare, such as burgers and pastas and normally they serve authentic Mexican food on Wednesday evenings. We went one Wednesday and they said they weren't serving the Mexican food.
