WHOA...Holy Cow. No one else was in the restaurant and a young lady was at the register. As soon as I walked up, the young lady bent over and put her head on the cash register like she was light-headed. I waited about 30 (LONG) seconds. And I asked her if she was alright. No response? I then said "Hello." No response. An older guy (probably the owner) was standing down the line, maybe 20 feet. I waited again, everyone there was just standing staring into space. FINALLY, the older guy comes over and asks, "What do you want." Well, I would like to order Fried Chicken. This man was lost...in his own business. The Young Lady without realizing my existence then walks from behind the counter and sits in a chair again burying her head in her arms and putting her head in the corner. I am still being polite, we are now between 5-7 minutes of this experience. I replied to the Owner I would like 8 pieces of chicken. He told me it would be ten minutes. Ok, fresh chicken. Within maybe 30 seconds he comes from the back with the chicken. He begins to look up at their signage and he cannot figure out how much the chicken costs. The cash register is right in front of him. He yells to the odd girl to ring up the chicken, in which she SCREAMS, "What do you want me to ring up!" There is now another customer in the store. We share glances like what is going on here? I now have had enough. I said what do you mean what does he want you to ring up? I told you my order 4-5 times in which you didn't even have the courtesy to even acknowledge me." I turn to the guy who I think is the owner. I asked him if she was sick. The customer who I was trading glances with then said to me, "She isn't sick she's on something." Well, I don't come from that life. Finally, easily after 10 or so minutes of going through this bullshit, I told the older guy to keep his chicken. I told him flat out. "if this isn't your daughter, FIRE HER NOW" and to "protect his family and NEW BUSINESS, FIRE HER NOW." I have never said that in any business. Never. I just could not fathom how any new business would put their future at such a high risk. TERRIBLE!!!

We were told that the steak for 2 was $132.00 and that was the best dish on the menu. That's without any side dishes. All the side dishes were $10.00 each. All the other meat dishes were $35.00 and up with no side dishes. You would think that at these manhattan prices the food would be outstanding-NOT! This place is a ripoff with the worst possible food. And the service was non existen, I had to yell for the waitress to come to our table. We all ordered schnitzel because we thought it would be the fastest. NOPE. It took fully one hour. The food arrives and it is beyond horrible. We got one chicken breast that tasted old and salty. The final bill came to $330.00. We were not in Manhattan, this is suburban Atlantic City. I think Food was vile, ambiance was bad, service was terrible, and it was a vey very bad experience. I could write much more beacause I had one hour to observe while waiting for our meal. Just look at this dish, a huge plate with a measly chicken cutlet for $35.00. And also the waitress added her tip- $50.00. Added insult to injury.

Glad I ate it before leaving because the bread was getting soggy. It had great flavor though, with some bbq sauce added. We wanted the ribs but they weren't quite ready at the time (3:00). So we got salmon instead with the smackin cheese and yams to go. Not too big of a fan of the yams, it had apples or peaches on it & not used to that. It wasn't horrible but I'd rather my yams as just yams. The owner gave me a banana pudding to try which was really nice. I enjoyed that too and I'm usually not a fan of banana pudding. I'd def recommend if you're visiting Atlantic City and want some good souls food! He also had breakfast we didn't get to try but the menu sounded good.

So I'm a regular at AC, and I never knew this place existed until I saw a video on Instagram of…read morethem and of course, I had to check it out. From the outside, it looks like an average building, but once you get past those door it's like a whole different world. The inside is so beautiful, and I love the open middle concept, especially with the high ceiling, which lets the natural light in, so it makes everything look even more beautiful. It can also be intimate, as they have sections that can be a little private, so it's great for like dates or if you have a family get together. Also, they are close to the outlet as well and have parking too. I do recommend checking out their hours and menu before going, as they kind of have specific menu options that they offer on certain days. For example, on Fridays and Saturdays, they only have a prefix four-course meal, which each person has to pay $68.99 (we went on Friday). But they have a lot of great options, so you still get to try a variety of their fusion menu options. Especially, considering that if you look at the prices separately for the items that were included, I think it's a really great deal, since it comes with your starter bread, appetizer, soup of the day, entree, and dessert, and they don't skimp on the portion size either. Since it's French, when in Rome, you know I had to go with Escargots à la Bourguignone aka Snail, as this is something I've never tried before. It wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't too terrible for a first-time dish like that. Next was the soup of the day, which was a Afghan lentil soup, which we enjoyed. For the entrees, I got the Uzbeki Palau, which is lamb shank with Afghani rice, and oh my goodness, that lamb shank was so delicious, the bone just slid right off the meat. My friend got the Kofta Chalau, which is meatballs in sauce, and it came with rice as well. He really enjoyed that as he finished the whole plate! To finish it off, we were served Firni for dessert, which is an Afghan rice pudding with chocolate mousse and a piece of baklava. We were so stuffed, it was a lot of good food, and I will definitely go back to try their other menu options, which includes vegetarian as well. Also, it's BYOB as they are Afghan and do not serve alcoholic drinks, so you do have the option to bring your own bottle of wine or liquor if you prefer. Drink options were tea, fresh juices, coffee, and water, no mocktails. Overall had a wonderful time. The service was prompt, our waitress (sorry, I forgot her name) was very friendly, informative, and very attentive. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere is just picture and video worthy, very relaxing, and I did not feel rushed at all either. I will definitely go back whenever I'm in AC.

We finally tried the Borgata Buffet and honestly I do not understand some of the bad reviews…read more Yes it is a casino buffet so the price is higher at around 43 per person, but there are definitely ways to get it comped or discounted, and for the quality you are getting it actually feels worth it. The variety is great and everything we tried tasted fresh and well made. Nothing felt like it had been sitting too long and the staff was constantly maintaining the stations. The service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. The staff working the buffet line were also all really nice and genuinely seemed happy to be there which makes such a difference. Food wise there were a lot of standouts. The chargrilled steak had a really nice flavor and the prime rib was super tender and juicy. The pastas were cooked perfectly and the sauces were light, bright, and flavorful instead of heavy. The mac and cheese is an absolute must. They use big shell noodles with a creamy cheese sauce and toasted breadcrumbs on top which gives it great texture. The collard greens were surprisingly one of our favorite things and we went back for seconds. So much flavor. The spiced shrimp is a hidden gem and definitely something we grabbed multiple times. The pizza was also surprisingly good. We tried the mushroom and spinach and it honestly tasted like something you would get from a really solid pizza spot not a buffet. The only thing I would say is the chicken parm is hit or miss depending on how fresh it is. If it has been sitting it can get a little soggy so I would try to grab it when a fresh tray comes out. Pro tip leave room for dessert. The dessert section is incredible. The gelato was rich and creamy especially the chocolate. The croissant cinnamon roll hybrid was flaky on the outside with a soft gooey center and the cookies and cream cheesecake was rich without being too heavy. I also really liked how the seating is set up. You can sit on either side of the buffet and choose between booths or tables which makes it feel a little less chaotic. This is definitely a spot we will keep coming back to when we are at Borgata.

Very Disappointing -- Borgata Has Really Gone Downhill…read more I visited the Borgata buffet over Labor Day weekend with my family of four, and the total was close to $200. Unfortunately, for that price, I honestly felt that we would have been better off going to a regular restaurant with better tasting food. I hadn't been to the Borgata buffet in a very long time. I remember when it was around $30-$35 per person, and I had much better memories of the food. That's why it was especially disappointing to see how much it seems to have declined. There were a few highlights. The gelato was very good, and I will say the dessert section seems to have improved. The salmon was probably the standout savory dish. The platanos, waffles, pork ribs, and meatballs were also good. The General Tso's chicken was decent as well. Unfortunately, those positives were outweighed by the negatives. There wasn't even much of a fruit selection anymore, which was surprising for a buffet at this price point. The sushi rice wasn't prepared properly all mushy and the shrimp cocktail didn't taste particularly fresh. The seasoned shrimp was also far too salty. The seafood section was particularly disappointing. The clams were so salty that they were essentially inedible, and whoever seasoned the mussels simply did not get the seasoning right. These are not particularly complicated dishes, so it was surprising to see them executed so poorly. The fried foods were also hit or miss. Some batches looked cooked on the outside, but the shrimp inside were still undercooked and appeared almost raw. Some of the vegetables, such as the zucchini, were noticeably undercooked as well. The steak was very tough, while the prime rib was extremely bland and lacked flavor. The Chinese section, aside from the General Tso's chicken, was particularly disappointing. The pasta dishes, including the macaroni and cheese over cooked and tasteless w alfredo being was oddly sweet was extremely underwhelming. And honestly, this is what surprised me most about the entire experience. It's not as though the buffet has an enormous number of dishes that would make it impossible to maintain quality. The selection is relatively limited, and many of the individual dishes are not particularly difficult to prepare. Yet so many of them were either poorly seasoned, undercooked, overcooked, bland, or simply not executed well. When you have a smaller selection of dishes, you would expect those dishes to be done really well. Instead, it felt like there were only a handful of things that were actually worth eating. That is what made the experience so surprising and disappointing. Overall, a large majority of the food was simply not good enough to justify going to a buffet. At nearly $200 for four people, I expected significantly better quality and consistency. What made this experience even more disappointing is that this was my parents' first time staying at the Borgata. Unfortunately, the food experience was poor enough that it actually made them less interested in wanting to stay at the hotel again. When you're spending money on a casino resort, the dining experience is part of the overall experience--and a bad meal can definitely affect whether you want to return. Borgata used to be one of my favorite places to go in Atlantic City, so I really wanted to like it. But after this visit, I'm not sure I would choose it over newer properties like Hard Rock or Ocean Casino Resort. Those properties may be newer, but at this point, I think I'd rather spend my money there than return to this buffet. Overall: very disappointing, especially considering the price and what I remember Borgata being like in the past.

Here are some of the highlights / things worth mentioning about this store: - Probably the one big selling point of this store is the fact that they have a small meat room at the back of the store where they have a clean set up to clean and cut the meats. I never asked but it seems it's part of a small butchery room behind. Not too many places that sell goat meat. I give my 4 stars simply for this very important point. Me likes fresh goat meat! - They also sell some fun East Asian / Bangla desserts that one can otherwise find very easily in the Princeton area but quite challenging to find any place else. - They do have certain brands of snacks that are not easy to find everywhere. One of the hot mixture snacks are especially my favorites. - The selection of condiments and spices is strictly ok. My brother and I usually pick up stuff only in case of an emergency as this place is much closer to where we are in EHT. - Same is the case with naan breads, ready to eat dinners, entrees and snacks. Overall - a good option for Indian / Bangladeshi groceries and meats.
