Super delicious! This is my first trip to Halal Kitchen. I got the chicken shawarma and my husband got a gyro bowl platter. Everything is super well seasoned and flavorful and good quality ingredients. There was extra sauce and hot sauce on the side for a bit of heat which I really appreciated. We also got the hummus and they gave us a brownie which was awesome (and vegan!). I'll definitely be back. read more

Was hoping to find my go-to middle eastern, halal spot for when I'm in the area but I was kind of disappointed with my experience. Ordering was strictly online so when I tried calling the two numbers on their website to ask a question no one ever answered. Delivery time changed from 45 minutes to an hour, but my food actually arrived after an hour and a half. Albeit Grubhub's fault but that makes this experience a negative one. The gyro platter's were good, the gyro and falafel sandwiches were small with little vegetable. The pita they use is thin and flimsy. We asked for extra tahini for the falafel sandwich on the side and didn't get any tahini on the sandwich nor on the side. The garlic naan was really good. The gyro meat and actual falafel were good as well. If there's a next time I'll definitely pick up the food myself and possibly pass on the sandwiches and just get the platters. read more

So I don't know how this place is receiving 5 star ratings. Yes, it's one of the few halal places that is around but do not substitute halal with quality. My cousins and I went here a few days ago. First, off it's located on a second floor at a strip mall, so location is not the best. In addition, when you actually find the entrance to this place, it's an obstacle to get to actually seating area because it's past old vacant offices. It was a weird feeling. Second, the experience. The seating/dining area is nothing more than basic tables aligned with chairs that are scattered in a rectangular room. The kitchen entry is far off to the side and they have conference rooms with clear glass displaying to them. Another very weird feeling and setup. They gave us ALL plastic cutlery. Third and finally the food. We all ordered the chicken and lamb gyro combo and one app: Channa chat mix. The Channa chat mix was not great.....at all. I mean the chanis were bland and didn't bring about the taste from the other mixed items. The other items in the Channa chat were stale and presented in a plastic disposable container. Now onto the main course, the gyro. There were fresh fries made that were put on top of it - good touch. The chicken and the lamb did not have an old musky smell which was good however, they used a processed type of meat. The rice that was used in the platters were I feel not cooked all the way and were a little stale. Also, at the bottom of the container was oil, not really a good sign and also they used an aluminum container and plastic cutlery vs the real stuff so the presentation is lacking. Overall, this place needs a lot of work with the presentation, making the accessibility from the outside to the seating more accessible, the setup inside needs redecorating ASAP and the food needs a special chefs touch. You can imitate halal guys and still do a good job but look what happened when they went big, the quality is lacking. You guys just started and your quality is already lacking. I will definitely try again and hope to be in for a pleasant surprise. read more

The sauces-- green, purple, and white-- go with everything so well; the textures and flavors are fantastic and consistent. My first time experience with Halal Kitch was absolutely dismal. The food was dreadful from the ice cold hummus to the iceberg lettuce salad that was drizzled with some horrible substitute for tahini dressing. I understand that egg harbor township is a food desert and ethnic food is hard to come by - but good Lord this is just a disgrace. I pray your food doesnt turn people off from this cuisine. The service : Poorly run. Not sure which restaurant ask you to call back or to be called back when you try to order food. The overall service and communication is very spotty. You mAy have better luck depending on who's taking the order or who you may be dealing with. Groupon coupon : not honored ! although it's still being sold online with better reduced price- just checked again. I was told issue with Groupon but not my problem - they should still honor. I have had no issues redeeming for any other restaurants or purchases from Groupon. Only here !! I had to pull-up my credit card purchase date to show that I purchased it recently !! I was given an impression that I'm not being honest because they stopped selling months ago !!! I also pulled up the app to show I could buy again it's there !!! It is true. Please do, if you intend to pick up your food, or venture here for a meal, call ahead and ask to be directed to their door. They are very hidden in an upstairs commercial kitchen. Even when you get there, you will be sure you are not there. You are there. There is an area for seating. It does, in fact, lack charm. I actually wasn't aware that's what it was until I read a couple reviews here. You may, perhaps, need to ring a bell to have someone appear. This, however, is not the point. Not at all. We ordered, for all practical purposes, the menu. It was all good. Some of it was quite excellent. I've missed this food for some time living in exile in this part of South Jersey. The food here is not only comparable to that you would find at Halal Guys, or somewhere similar in New York, it rises to the quality of some fine dining establishments who have insulted me with food no one would mistake for halal, never mind pay the larcenous prices charged. So, just trust me on this...Deal with the not so pretty...Or, keep it warm and take it home...Or, apparently, there are a bunch of ways to have them deliver. I dunno, I'm old fashioned and I wanted to see the place the first time. When I saw it, I actually liked it better. It kind of reminded me of a food truck looking for a place to happen.
