Based on the reviews I couldn't wait to try the Kostas Grill. We decided to try a few appetizers and dips to get acquainted to the menu since it was our first time. Here is my opinion on what we ordered: Greek Mac n Cheese: It was fine, but not anything great. Kind of average at best. Was hoping for better. Kostas Eggplant: Very good. I really enjoyed the flavors. Spanakopita Triangles: These were very good, but I've had better Spanakopita. Hummus Dip: This was good, but not much better than other Hummus I've had at other Greek restaurants. Melitzanosalata (Egg Plant) Dip: This was very good. Really enjoyed it. My favorite part of the meal. The place itself is nice for a strip mall restaurant. They did a nice job of decorating. My biggest complaint was that the server was extremely slow. We had tickets to a show at the Lizzie Rose Music Room and so I was in a bit of a hurry so I wanted some boxes and the check to leave. Our server was so hard to find and didn't look our way many times. They only had two servers in a crowded room where in my opinion they should have had at least three. read more

I had takeout but there are dine-in options with indoor seating. The indoor seating looked nice and the staff looked attentive and friendly. It is a clean-looking place that can accommodate groups. Regarding the food, the gyro platter and kostas pork were definitely a pricey option and I expected more than what I got for the price or at least for it to be absolutely delicious. The taste of it was decent but not amazing in my opinion. It also wasn't in easy pieces to eat with the pita triangles given. I enjoyed the gyro alot more then the kostas pork. All-in-all I enjoyed and finished the food but not sure if I would recommend it without giving it another try. read more

Kostas grill is definitely a worthy place to eat. Thank goodness for the sign because you can't see it from the road. It's in the far end of this shopping centre. Once you get inside, there's about 20-30 tables. Music isn't too loud but there is mild-moderate din from people talking. The food? Buckle up friend! It is SO GOOD. This place has everything from gyros to souvlaki to other Greek meatballs I can't pronounce. Amazing selection of both surf and turf. Awesome salads. I got the pork gyro special (with orzo) which came with a Greek salad for $21. Salad was my favorite, because it's. The hot entree was filling and tasty but the salad was my favorite. Nick was our server and he was an amazing host! He was really so friendly and personable and only added to our great experience at Kostas Grill. It was lunchtime and Nick really provided us with excellent service and made it look so easy. I could tell being at Kostas Grill in the off-season was in our favor. I'm sure Summertime is absolutely crazy busy so we took advantage of it. The halloumi appetizer was very good and went perfect with the fresh veggies and pesto. The Horitaki salad was excellent as well. Everything is as fresh as can be. The dressing was so good and the feta was too! We added falafel to the salad and it worked perfectly and gave the salad some crunch and texture too. Missing from view is the Baklava and coffee because they disappeared too quickly for a photo. Sorry about that. But you get the idea, that too was like you just stepped out of Athens! The next day we went back and took food out to bring home to our family for dinner. We tried some different dishes and each one of them was cooked to perfection. When you see a rating like this on Yelp you know you can expect to enjoy your meal. Expensive for a plain Jane strip mall restaurant, but our meal was worth every penny. We shared yummy, zucchini/eggplant appetizer, the crust fried to crunchy, yummy perfection. Our gyros were huge, ingredients supper fresh and well prepared. The baklava was crisp, perfectly sweetened with just the right amount of honey. Not cloy and soggy as many are. Even the coffee was above par. Our waiter, a young, college student and the bus boy were as well trained and thoughtful as any I've experienced in a white table cloth restaurant with an eagle eyed maitre d' guarding the door and managing the floor. We ordered the flaming cheese after seeing several others order Thai. Very interesting dish. When it comes out, there are flames! The cheese is good, but it has a strong alcohol taste so may not be shit ale for kids. I ordered the chicken gyro platter and it was so good! Highly recommend this dish. It came with chicken chunks on a metal skewer, pita triangles, tzatziki sauce, lemon potatoes (from a choice of several options) and a bowl of salad. I'm not a salad person but this salad was good because of the dressing. ! My husband kept commenting on how I looked like I was really enjoying my meal! We also ordered lemon chicken, which was moist and tasty. It came with lemon potatoes (from a choice of sides). Note that this is bone in chicken. My husband got the gyro platter. He didn't enjoy his meal as much but said it was ok. We also ordered the orzo with meatballs. I didn't try this myself but my kid wasn't a huge fan. The Espa (Greek orange soda) is really good. As others have said in their reviews, Kostas Grill is a hidden gem that offers very tasty, freshly-prepared Greek food served by attentive staff in a very unexpected location. My dining companion and I were looking for a late dinner somewhere along our drive back from Cape May to Morristown.. and we weren't expecting much from this unadorned, family-owned and -operated Greek restaurant located in a strip mall next to Retro Fitness on US Route 9 in Tuckerton -- but both of us were pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service at Kostas Grill. We walked into the restaurant about 20 minutes before closing and were worried that the staff would turn us away, hurry us through our meal, or serve us dried-out food that was destined for the dumpster. Thankfully, none of those happened. The hostess greeted us with a smile and sat us right away, quickly followed by our friendly and energetic server who brought over a small bowl of dried chickpeas to munch on while we perused the menu. I opted for the "Spicy Kostas Pork" platter ($21), comprised of two large pieces of marinated pork loin served with a small Greek salad, tzatziki, pita triangles and lemon potatoes. My dining companion opted for the Falafel platter ($21), comprised of a generous portion of falafel balls served with a small Greek salad, tzatziki, pita triangles and Greek seasoned fries. YUM. We both thought the combination of flavors and quality and freshness of all of the ingredients was OUTSTANDING and the portion size was very generous for two hungry adults. Gus and his staff made what could have been an uneventful meal on our drive home into a memorable dining experience. If we are ever back in the area, we'll definitely return to Kostas Grill. I wasn't expecting much in a strip mall down Route 9 in Tuckerton, and so happy the we were blown away. Walked in to a nice clean spacious place, not overly decorated. We were quickly sat by the owner. Waitstaff was beyond amazing. Menu was nice and varied. The food was beyond fresh and plentiful. Reminiscent of a great Greek diner (NJ people will know). With large plates and great food. Even the side salsa were delicious with fresh feta. The Gyro platters were the best I have had on east coast, sorry NY. In a small little tucked away town in South Jersey, there opened up the only Greek place that has been down here in probably 30 years. And when i tell u it's phenomenal i make no exaggeration! The restaurants decor transports you back to Santorini with its blue walls and ancient greek statues. The aroma that wafts out of the kitchen is truly intoxicating, combination of tskizi sauce, paprika, and lemon. I ordered the fried eggplant and zucchini which was incredible. All the food was delicious and very authentic. The lamb burger was fantastic, freshly ground and cooked perfectly. The spicy feta spread on the burger was incredible. Everything was terrific, now we just need to figure out how many more trips it will take to try everything else on the menu. One of the better Greek restaurants I have been to in a long time. Staff is super friendly, and the owner even came over after the meal to ask us how our meal was, which I always appreciate. First off, the baked chickpeas they give you when you sit down are addicting, they did not last long at our table. We got the appetizer that came with an assortment of finger foods, hummus, and a brick of feta cheese. Everything on the platter was on point. From the crunch of the spanakopita, to the creaminess of the hummus, I would get this platter for my main course. For my main course I got the lamb burger. It was more than reasonably priced, seasoned to perfection, and when I asked for medium-rare, shocker, I got med-rare. We drove past one day going to a friend's house and put it on our places to try list. We are very happy we did! Us and two other couples enjoyed the fabulous food. For the table we ordered the grape leaves, octopus and flaming cheese appetizers. We all agreed all the appetizers were delicious. For dinner, I had the Moussaka which had a layer of potatoes on the bottom with a cinnamon flavored beef covered with thick pieces of eggplant covered in cheese baked to order. My husband got lamb souvlaki which was tender, moist and cooked to a perfect medium. The lamb came with red and green grilled peppers, onions and rice. The Greek side salads were a good size and the ingredients were super fresh. All in all, every dish exceeded expectations. The baklava, rice pudding and ice cream portion sizes were on point and were excellent. If you order the baklava sundae it is easily big enough to share. The wait staff were cordial, attentive without being intrusive and professional. Timing of our appetizers, main course and dessert were nicely paced. Our waiter was knowledgeable on the menu items and was able to answer our questions to our satisfaction. The owner even came out to chat with us. It was a nice atmosphere. If the lights feel a bit bright just ask them to turn them down for a more cozy restaurant feel. We are all looking forward to going back soon. read more
