A friend and I found Setaara by accident while looking for a late dinner after a work event. We saw…read morea sign describing the food as "Afghan-French fusion with a Persian accent" and figured we'd give it a shot. It was the best decision of the night. The whole vibe was great and the meals were absolutely incredible. Since neither of us had been there before, Patty made some phenomenal suggestions, and somehow anticipated everything we needed before we even asked. She was a gem, and so patient and knowledgeable about everything in the menu. (Appetizer) Bolani: You have to get this. It's this crispy, golden fried dough filled with seasoned potatoes and herbs. It comes with a jalapeño chutney that is SO flavorful. Honestly, the menu description doesn't even do it justice, it's delicious. (Entree) Kabul Alfredo: I went with this for my main. It's basically the best of both worlds, its a linguine with garlic, creamy Alfredo, amd shaved parm, but topped with Afghan chicken kabob. The chicken was so tender and perfectly seasoned. I am SO glad we found Setaara, we'd originally tried to grab a quick burger at a hotel restaurant after a work event, but we were completely ignored there, so we just walked out and walked down the street looking for something open. The whole vibe was great, and our meals were absolutely incredible. I'll definitely be back!!!

We went for their brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Disclaimer they do not serve any main course items for lunch hours too. The ambiance was beautiful and picturesque. The staff was super sweet. We ordered bolani which was ok ish but the chutney was delicious, chole puri - chole were delicious and puri was crispy but yum, the third thing we ordered was an omelette that tasted yum too. They even served fresh juice. We had pomegranate and orange juice. The ambiance was so good and birds were chirping and it felt like we were sitting in a courtyard of someone's home.

Once inside I see it's kinda busy so I get a little excited, like ok we in there! I proceed to the counter where I just wanted to order the quickest thing and get back to eat, so I get the ribs with Mac and greens. Well when I say it left a lot to be desired is an understatement. First of all the Mac and cheese was seasoned with too much garlic and onion powder for my liking and it didn't have a cheese pull or was it creamy, more thick than anything! Second the greens were not any better. I don't know how they seasoned them but I tasted nothing, no vinegar, salt, pepper, onion or garlic and also NO HOT SAUCE WAS PROVIDED! Lastly the ribs were ok but nothing crazy. The meat was more on the tough side and I didn't care for the seasoning they used, it was a mix between jerk and like some type of hickory, maple or apple wood smoke! All in all the place looked nice inside so I'd give it a 7.5/10 for atmosphere. Service I would say is an 7/10 because of what I witnessed while in there with orders getting mixed up. And lastly the food I would give it a solid 4.5-5/10 and that's not to be hating! I'm a cook and so is my lady so trust we know what good food is!

WHOA...Holy Cow. No one else was in the restaurant and a young lady was at the register. As soon as I walked up, the young lady bent over and put her head on the cash register like she was light-headed. I waited about 30 (LONG) seconds. And I asked her if she was alright. No response? I then said "Hello." No response. An older guy (probably the owner) was standing down the line, maybe 20 feet. I waited again, everyone there was just standing staring into space. FINALLY, the older guy comes over and asks, "What do you want." Well, I would like to order Fried Chicken. This man was lost...in his own business. The Young Lady without realizing my existence then walks from behind the counter and sits in a chair again burying her head in her arms and putting her head in the corner. I am still being polite, we are now between 5-7 minutes of this experience. I replied to the Owner I would like 8 pieces of chicken. He told me it would be ten minutes. Ok, fresh chicken. Within maybe 30 seconds he comes from the back with the chicken. He begins to look up at their signage and he cannot figure out how much the chicken costs. The cash register is right in front of him. He yells to the odd girl to ring up the chicken, in which she SCREAMS, "What do you want me to ring up!" There is now another customer in the store. We share glances like what is going on here? I now have had enough. I said what do you mean what does he want you to ring up? I told you my order 4-5 times in which you didn't even have the courtesy to even acknowledge me." I turn to the guy who I think is the owner. I asked him if she was sick. The customer who I was trading glances with then said to me, "She isn't sick she's on something." Well, I don't come from that life. Finally, easily after 10 or so minutes of going through this bullshit, I told the older guy to keep his chicken. I told him flat out. "if this isn't your daughter, FIRE HER NOW" and to "protect his family and NEW BUSINESS, FIRE HER NOW." I have never said that in any business. Never. I just could not fathom how any new business would put their future at such a high risk. TERRIBLE!!!
