This was delicious! I'm vegetarian (easy to accommodate with Indian food) but I'm also one of those people who can't do cilantro or coriander - so Indian food is hard for me. I was with an Indian friend who is vegan AND gluten free - they accommodated his diet and made it sufficiently spicy for him. Service was absolutely the slowest I have ever encountered. It was downright painful. It took 15 minutes to get any attention and about one hour after ordering..our food was ready. Just Wow. And we ordered naan and got it ten minutes after our dinners came out. The owner greeted us and was friendly but didn't help with the bad service. We were all so thirsty the whole time... we clocked that we were there for 2 hours and 15 min. Spin the wheel?!!! Can I get a soda? How can anyone be that bad of a server? And no, they were not busy!!! The check was soooooo high. Will never go back. I do not mind paying 200 plus tip for 4 people... but you need to actually have good service and quality dining to do so. I still tipped the 20 percent but was pretty ticked off that we were basically ignored the entire time... and why is it called fusion? And why does every new restaurant add this word to their name- it makes me laugh now and refuse to FUSION- it means you think you are fine dining. My wife and I had the lunch buffet twice in December. On a Wednesday and a Saturday respectively. Food rotation changes by the day and Saturday adds more offerings at a slightly higher price. We've never had Indian food and figured this was a great way to sample as this type of food is perfect for a buffet model. We were very impressed by the flavors as well as quality. I'm absolutely disgusted with the staff at this restaurant. My wife called and spoke with the chef who assured her that he can cook her meals away from any nuts. With that assurance, she ordered $50 worth of food today. She got home and had a severe allergic reaction from nut contamination in the meals the chef assured her would be free from contaminants. Thankfully, she's okay now but nearly had to go to the hospital. Shame on this establishment. If you cannot accommodate due to nuts in your kitchen, don't say you can. You nearly put my wife in the hospital. Never ordering food from here ever again. Do better. read more

Another great meal at Aroma! Our server Francis was fantastically helpful and suggested we get an order of their Pani Puri (an appetizer that's not on the menu) which was chick peas, potatoes, cilantro in a crispy fried bread cup with a tamarind sauce and it was so delicious and quite a refreshing dish!!! Also had an order of their tandoori chicken, which is always great, chicken drumsticks of heaven, which were huge! and chicken korma which was requested mild and was perfect! 10/10 again and again! I stopped by for takeout and was absolutely thrilled with what I got - garlic naan, cheese naan, a few different entrees, and everything was absolutely phenomenal. With my favorite Indian place in South Jersey closing, I needed a new go-to and Aroma is now it! Though I was just there for takeout, I saw that the restaurant was busy, with staff coming and going quickly, so it seems to me like the service was attentive! Ambiance-wise, it's a pretty standard "first floor of a hotel" space, but dressed up nicely! My one complaint is that they said the takeout would take 30 minutes and it took 50, so I sat for twenty minutes waiting. But it was worth the wait. read more

I'm a out of town person and drive here multiple times a year to visit this restaurant. I arrived 9:25 and the restaurant closes at 10pm. I definitely understand this but the kitchen closes at 9:30. The staff deliberately walked around and ignored me and my family standing at the reception until 9:31 pm and kept saying we will be with you then walked over and said do you see the time on the menu sorry the kitchen is CLOSED. Liked dinner enough to give the buffet a try. There were three vegetarian and three meat choices on the buffet. Rice, naan, vegetable pakora and samosas as well as salad were also available. My family of 3 visited while on vacation. We ordered two entrees, and two apps to share amongst ourselves. Appetizers were great, ordered mild and came mild. The entrees however were quite skimpy, the chicken tikka Masala had loads of yummy sauce however only three semi-large pieces of chicken, so that meant one piece of chicken per person. I've was expecting more for the price of each entree. When it was time to leave and pay the bill the waiter was nowhere to be found. We waited for quite a while until he surfaced again from the kitchen. So I used to be obsessed with this place years ago when I lived in the area. I stopped here when I was in town one evening and it's not as amazing as I remember. (Still good though.) I found the butter chicken to be kind of bland. The assortment of naan bread however was very good though. (Get the chili garlic naan if you like spicy!) I also found the side of rice was a bit skimpy for how much sauce is in the butter chicken dish. Also, this place is spacious. The server said we could sit anywhere and then when we chose our spot, he was trying to get us to sit somewhere else which is kind of strange being that they made it like we could sit anywhere. ‍ (only one other party was in the restaurant at the time.) Lastly, I tried to redeem the free dessert coupon that's attached to yelps check in feature, however the server said they no longer honor this. Will I be back if I'm in town? Looks like events and large dinner parties could be hosted here. Really good food at a fair price, well flavored and big portions. We ordered: veggie bhajia which came with 3 chutneys, garlic and garlic chilli naan, paneer bhurji, aroma handi, and dal tadka. These came with a side of white rice. Pretty good Indian restaurant that we hit up on the way to a resort in southern NJ. The lunch buffet was reasonably priced and the quality of the options were all very good. My only main gripe was that the spread wasn't very big, but what they served was all good and I was very pleased with the flavor of the tikka masala. I can't eat that much food so I ordered off the menu and it was amazing!!! I got the Tikka Chicken appetizer and garlic nann. The portion was perfect and ohhhh the flavors. My husband made three trips to the Buffett and was just in awww every time he sat back down. The staff was awesome as they were at your table with replacing your nann or taking your plates. My sister recommended this place! Ever since Bombay closed I have not had really good India butter chicken!!! Well that searches ended at Aroma's our meals were 'outstanding' I have only one issue the butter chicken was 'medium' spice level however there was no heat at all!! Next time I will order 'hot' The curry goat was good favor but recommend cooking the meat longer; it was a little tougher than hubby likes! Staff was attentive and friendly!! First, if you have the time and you 're looking for the better tasting food rather than the prettier dining experience go to the original ... NIZAM #1. That might seem a little harsh and it's not that I have made a conscious decision to devalue this restaurant but if I was making the decision I'd go Black Horse Pike over White Horse Pike. However, this isn't a bad choice ... now how's that for confounding you? But, we had one of those direction signal inspiring dining out coupons so this adventure took us to NUMBER TWO, which is located in a dumpy motel off of the White Horse Pike in close proximity to the Garden State Parkway. Neither the exterior nor the entrance way, that reeks of stale smoke, is a fair indicator of the very attractive well thought out dining room that NUMBER TWO offers to diners. We were the first diners of the day so we were able to choose a very attractive small booth from which we could gaze over the entire restaurant. It's clear that the Nizam family worked hard to transform this restaurant from its former owners, it is a really attractive place to eat. We came for the buffet and being the first customers of the day it meant we had to wait for the hot food to be set out before we could engage our hungering for Indian delicacies. Being a vacant restaurant meant nearly zero service from the one young man who was responsible not only for our care but also he had to set up the buffet. This buffet keeps all of its silverware and plates on line so all he had to do was put the water out and say 'Ready, Set, Go ...". Although we are solely water consumers we were never asked if we wanted a nice tea or some sugary soda, which is something that I would expect at any dining establishment. We are given the signal .. the green flag is out ... time to eat. NUMBER TWO has created a nice line up of choices that begins with an interesting mixed salad relying quite heavily on the cool crisp onions. Under the salad plate is a selection of three sauces all of which had an above average taste. Next in line were some attractively displayed bhajia whose taste was worthy of seconds. Nicely crisped chickpea batter covering the classic blend of potato, onion, spinach, and cilantro. The basmati rice was served perfectly tender leading to the question why should plain white rice be served with any meal. The entrees offered buffet hungry folks like us an attractive selection of choices (They were all nicely presented and hot because we were the first ones dipping a spoon into the choices.). The discoveries included: The winner ... drum roll please ... the Aloo Gobhi's sauce was a delicate blend of delicious flavors coating the cauliflower and potato. I am not one who allows cauliflower near my plate nor close to my silverware but I was allowed a taste of the Aloo's potato, which was truly yummy. The Palak Chanda was very good (I had two helpings just to be sure.) and Megan really like the Paneer Makhanwala although I found the sauce on the chicken makhanwala to be lacking in the richness that would encourage more or the dipping of naan into the sauce .... Oh wait a minute ... there was no naan ... none ... we were not asked if we'd like naan nor was there naan on the buffet in front of us none no naan ... we were not handed a menu when we arrived nor offered one, which would have revealed to us that naan could be had if extra money was spent. As for our Indian adventure none ... no naan none. But then again, that makhanwala sauce was none to worthy to dip naan into so no naan at the end didn't disappoint us and saved me some money. The Chana Masala was good definitely worth having on a future visit. I thought that the tandoori was prepared nicely with a flavor I enjoyed. As for the Curry Chicken ... eh ... definitely just eh but again we are talking a buffet food not one prepared lovingly for a personal plate (Do Indian kitchens lovingly prepare plates? Who knows. All I know is that the curry chicken needed more.). I am assuming that the kitchen toned down all the spices because this is a buffet. If you are used to needing more water at your favorite Indian restaurant that is not the case here at NUMBER TWO. Finally, the dessert was truly a surprise. When the young man casually told us what was on the buffet line he said 'rice pudding' but this was not ordinarily rice pudding that one would expect on a buffet line this was Phirni. Phirni is a speciality that uses saffron (I am sure in very limited quantities.) in a flavor blend with pistachio's, and cardamom elevating the pudding to a unique flavored dessert option. It was a nice ending to a decent Indian buffet experience. As we left behind this beautiful restaurant walking through the stale smoke of the entrance way and out into the heat we were satisfied. Not a top star winning meal but one that satisfied. We carefully scanned the menu as we drove away wondering what the non-buffet would be like. read more
