This is my second visit. I am thrilled to have an Indian restaurant close to home. Don't be deterred by the restaurant being behind the gas station. I had the chicken tiki masala and my husband has lamb saag and garlic nun bread . Yummy!

Such a cool atmosphere - they completely gutted the gas station Mexican Food convenience store and made it into a sit down restaurant. I got the chicken tikki masala and it was the best Indian Food I've ever had. Even their rice was amazing- fluffier than popcorn! Garlic naan good too. I'm going back once a week! Local Hidden Gem

    Lamb biryani

Brand new Indian cuisine in an Indian food desert! There aren't any close places that have Indian food and this was a welcomed sight. The real test was the food and they did not disappoint! We tried two dishes we thought would be a good test, palak paneer and lamb biryani with garlic naan and vegetable samosas to start. Everything was on point and we will be returning for sure. This place used to be one of the best kept secret Mexican "fast food" stops around so while sorry to see them go we are very happy with the new tenant. There is a gas station out front but don't let that concern you as this place is independent from that. The place is very clean and comfortable and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this place for Indian food lovers. Being one of our favorite cuisines we think Loving Kitchen of West Creek, NJ ranks up there with the best!

I cannot say enough positive things about this little hidden gem. It was hard to find (look for Brennan fuels) it's behind the gas pumps! Food was extraordinary and service was impeccable. A definite must visit for foodies!

The food and service were great. They take time explaining the menu. They are very conscious of a person's spice tolerance.

Excellent Indian food. Highly recommend stopping in. Try the Gobi Manchuria appetizers.

This was delicious! I'm vegetarian (easy to accommodate…read morewith Indian food) but I'm also one of those people who can't do cilantro or coriander - so Indian food is hard for me. I was with an Indian friend who is vegan AND gluten free - they accommodated his diet and made it sufficiently spicy for him. They managed my no cilantro/coriander request just fine AND made it sufficiently mild for my delicate sensibilities. The food was flavorful and quality and good portions at good prices! Excellent experience while attending a trade show in Atlantic City.

Just Wow. And we ordered naan and got it ten minutes after our dinners came out. The owner greeted us and was friendly but didn't help with the bad service. We were all so thirsty the whole time... we clocked that we were there for 2 hours and 15 min. Spin the wheel?!!! Can I get a soda? How can anyone be that bad of a server? And no, they were not busy!!! The check was soooooo high. Will never go back. I do not mind paying 200 plus tip for 4 people... but you need to actually have good service and quality dining to do so. I still tipped the 20 percent but was pretty ticked off that we were basically ignored the entire time... and why is it called fusion? And why does every new restaurant add this word to their name- it makes me laugh now and refuse to FUSION- it means you think you are fine dining. Um NO .. fine dining is superb service, I didn't even get acceptable service. Its Indian food with a little section of Thai Food.... See You! Will not be back.

The parking situation was little challenging as street parking is available but limited or you can park a few blocks away near the tennis courts closer by school. There are also some paid parking lots closer by. The restaurant is located upstairs so you need to take elevator. They have ala carte and buffet options, but buffet is only available on specific days. As you enter the restaurant, the lobby area was well designed thoughtfully and very welcoming. As you enter the restaurant, the main dining area has nice vibrant colors all over the place and it is beautifully decorated. The staff greeted us and gave us a booth table alongside the windows where you can watch the downtown. The menu is great and we had good collection for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. We ordered appetizers as tandoori chicken, cauliflower 65, aloo tiki chaat. Then, for main course, we ordered garlic naan, egg fried rice and methi matar paneer. The food came at very good pace with the restaurant had five other tables occupied. Gobi 65 - it was more towards saucy than dry side like most of us would have expected, but it still tasted good. Tandoori Chicken- was cooked perfect and tender and presented great. Aaloo tikki chaat is probably the best of the appetizers. Presentation and taste was fantastic. The extra filling of malai or paneer was little overdo but was tasty. For maindishes, methi Matar paneer was good and we ordered it as spicy. The overall taste was excellent but we felt the spice as after taste that is the only issue. Garlic naan was made fresh and tasted perfect. Star of the show was egg fried rice and well seasoned and right mix of veggies and egg. The rice was cooked to perfection. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The price is on the higher side but the ambiance, location and food makes it a place not to miss.

Oh how I wish that I could give Ellie's five stars but I'll explain the four stars in a moment…read more We discovered this amazing Indian restaurant out on Tom's River's Main Street, which is closed off to traffic on Friday and Saturday nights. the staff from Ellie's was encouraging, welcoming and they convinced us to sit down and enjoy a delicious Indian meal. That first meal piqued our curiosity because we kept looking up at the windows of what was once a theater but now houses a beautiful welcoming restaurant. You have to take the elevator to get up to the dining room but you walk into this. awesome! very attractive dining room with a great view of Toms Rivers Main Street. As was the case when we were outdoors the staff was welcoming and the service was attentive. Every menu item that we have tried beginning with the naan and going through some incredible appetizers and delicious entrees have been top notch and beautifully presented! The flavors will make you very happy and Ellie's is now on the favorite list. BUT ... There has been a problem each of the two times we've eaten at Ellie's and it has to do with my son-in-law's meal. he has requested that the kitchen make his entree as spicy as you can make it. yet each time his entree has come out almost mild far from the excessive heat that he enjoys. Since it's a pattern now I have to take away the one star.
