Take a good look, because this place may not be here in the near future. There are not many of these New Jersey diner models still left to enjoy and nice breakfast like back in the 70s. Always a pleasure to visit when in town.

Mustache Bill's Diner-top seating: ample space, lots of cushions and the AC ON on hot summer days!

This review was written, with a mustache. My mustache - in fact - was the largest seen in Mustache Bill's Diner all day! From the outside this diner has the look of a metal hangar or a silver-plated retro restaurant. Inside the digs were comfortable, fitting - with a large and wide galley - and non-adjustable seats with built-in cushions. The views were of town. The service by waitresses behind the counter - as can be viewed in the pictures attached - was slow and quite stuffy. My wait to get an order in took longer than waiting for the tides to change.. There was not much talk. The waitresses were simply at the bar themselves: eating while on shift. As a Yelp! customer how do you think this makes a diner appreciate the meal - when the waitress is herself busy stuffing her jowls? Come on. Waitresses should eat in the kitchen or AFTER. their work shift. Don't rest on the laurels of your food, drinks and shakes (awesome, tasty though they were..)! My Reuben sandwich was perfection and I shoved and gobbled as much as I could of it while it was still in a hot state. The fries were genuinely great! Soft yet crunchy-ended shoestrings with flavor. There were also kitchen help coming out up front to drink (they should stay in back). There were customers gawking and talking behind other patron's and waitresses backs (just don't). Really the wait staff just dropped the ball: plain + simple. Fantastic food. Moderate, beachy-vibe, expensive shakes type menu. Don't come to personalize the order - just eat your meal and drink and have an awesome beach day! Review: suave, cool interior - great food - grumpy underdressed waitresses. 5 star

We came for breakfast and should have read the reviews first and ordered either the French toast or hot cakes. I got the cream chipped beef and hubs got the two eggs, grits and ham. Both were good - not spectacular. It's cash only and plan on a wait unless you get here when it opens at 6am. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday's and only open until 3 I will definitely come back and try the hot cakes or stop for lunch as they had a lot of interesting lunch choices.

The Waterfront - Salad served with the Lobster Roll

I recently visited the Waterfront in Forked River, NJ, and overall had a really great experience…read more The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere with a relaxing waterfront setting that makes it a perfect place to sit down, unwind, and enjoy a meal. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the entire visit. The food was excellent overall. Everything we ordered came out fresh, flavorful, and cooked really well. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in the quality of the meals, and the presentation was also very nice. The seafood in particular tasted fresh, and the portions were satisfying without feeling overdone. The drinks and appetizers were also very enjoyable and complemented the meal perfectly. The only reason I'm not giving a completely flawless review is because the lobster bisque was served cold, which was a little disappointing since the flavor itself was actually very good. If it had been served hot, it probably would have been one of the highlights of the meal. Thankfully, that was really the only issue we experienced during the visit. What stood out the most was the combination of great food, friendly service, and the overall atmosphere. It's easy to see why this place is popular with both locals and visitors. Even with the small issue with the bisque, the experience as a whole was excellent and definitely worth returning for. I would absolutely come back again and recommend giving the Waterfront a try if you're in the Forked River area.

I ended up back at Manera's recently and wanted to share a quick update based on my new experience…read more First, our service was yet again spectacular! The waiter was caring, friendly, and professional. Secondly, the food was great, and actually even better than the last time. I started my lunch with a cup of their Chicken Tortilla Soup, which had a lightly spicy tomato-based broth infused with loads of shredded white meat chicken and garnished with a few tortilla strips. It was flavorful, comforting, and a perfect vehicle in which to dip their crusty Italian bread. Now the real improvement came from my selected entree. While the Asian Shrimp Salad that I had ordered previously was just mediocre, the Seared Tuna Salad that I got this time was delicious! The plate included mixed greens, sliced avocado, julienne cucumbers, pickled onions, cherry tomatoes, and sesame-crusted, sushi-grade tuna, which I ordered seared to a medium rare. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. Cups of wasabi and Asian dressing were served on the side and further infused a tangy heat to the dish. It was colorful, textural, and simply delicious. It was a real winner! Manera's Restaurant provided yet another enjoyable meal with dedicated service in a classy, yet casual, atmosphere.
