Was driving state to state. Looked for a vegan restaurant and got so lucky to experience such beautiful place. LGBT friendly and respect for all life (we came here two days in a row and brought different friends to share this amazing experience with.) Food was amazing the owner is great human service was exceptional, straws were made of paper , the cups were biodegradable (It must cost a fortune), even the toilet paper is best quality earth friendly, the soap is vegan not tested in animals, and there was such sensitive touch to decoration and everything else. Been plant based for 3 years now and since then I have been told so many times to come. My wife and I went tonight and the food was superb! The baba was 10 out of 10! Wow! I was so pleasantly surprised by this little diamond in the rough! I am transitioning to vegan food and trying new places...this has by far been the most delicious and impressive vegan cafe I've visited. A wonderful selection of food and very warm service..you can tell they truly make their food with love. I tried the "vegan cheesteak" (basically black beans with mushrooms onions and peppers..with vegan cheese.) AMAZING!!!! Absolutely delicious. My only issue is...I don't live closer! Ash took his skills in training and management AND cooking and combined them into something unique. iCreate Cafe is one street back from High Street, along tree-shaded King Street, in a renovated home. Don't be scared by the hand-drawn Romney campaign poster at the army recruiter next door. The front is cozy hang-out living room space as well as the location of the tiny kitchen. As you wander further in, you see other areas with different personalities: small training rooms with computers and whiteboards, a cafe table area, and more sofas and chairs which look perfect for a book discussion. Beautiful colors and decor and lots of art too. Ash offers an interesting collection of classes: Arabic language, resume writing, animation, WordPress, and web design stuck in my head, not things that are easily gotten elsewhere. He said an 8-hour class is about $200, so it also seems very affordable and a different format than local colleges. Such a warm inviting place made me consider classes I could both take and teach here. But most people would not stop by just to check out classes, and that is where the food comes in. I did not get to try his coffee, but you can see the raves on here. He offers an array of healthy Mediterranean dishes, all vegetarian (mostly vegan) with a Syrian touch. My spouse had a baked falafel sandwich which I got in on, yum. The creamy babaganoush was a large portion (I'd eat this with a spoon); we had to take half home. I loved my freshly-made foul with fava beans, also a huge portion. He brought some other things out for us to sample, like a pesto he was trying out on sandwiches. Ash grows a lot of his own vegetables. There is a good selection of tea too. Nothing is fried. Maybe he will get in some desserts from Vegan Treats in Bethlehem. Prices are very affordable. We were stuffed with plenty to take home, for under $20. People seem to come in just to visit with Ash, and there is a lot of activity on his Fb page. We can't wait to go back, and we will be getting lots of takeout too, since someone in my family drives by here quite often. I wish we had this in Reading, but Pottstown is close enough. There is more going on in Pottstown than I thought, and their main street is wide and has a bike lane: ripe for renewal or already in its way? People are seeking affordable homes closer to Philly. If only there was a passenger train that went beyond the main line; these areas could really come alive. read more

I ordered babaganoush combo (with red pepper hummus), he brought it and my omnivorous children are my dinner... At least they saved the tasty Syrian coffee. My daughter ordered the black bean burger. She loved it, with the exception of the sauce, but a 9 yr old palette can only expect so much (I liked it). My 8 yr old ordered the falafel wrap. Before I blinked it was gone. On the way from Reading to the Philly Premium Outlets I Yelp searched for a vegetarian restaurant. iCreate was one of our choices, I called ahead to inquire about the cafe. I was slightly confused at first, since the cafe offers classes, coffee and food, but soon discovered that iCreate is a novel idea! The owner was super duper friendly. The coffee was amazing, as was the food! I cannot say I've ever sampled Syrian cuisine before (very similar to Mediterranean or Lebanese), but Yum! Everything was so fresh, the fattoush salad had homegrown tomatoes! The babaganoush was blended and seasoned to perfection, not chunky and flavorless like many I've sampled. What a gem of a place! This isn't just another Mediterranean restaurant. It's a very special place with delicious homemade food and a community atmosphere. There's lots going on here with movie nights, open mics, and other events. But most of all, it's the food that makes this place so unique. The very friendly owner makes all the food here. So in some ways you feel like you're going over to a friend's house for a meal. It amazes me how people will spend money on hummus in a container at a grocery store when they can get homemade hummus that is creamy and fresh at iCreate for about the same price. There aren't many places I can say this about, but everything I've had there has been excellent. Chickpea salad, mushroom salad, fattah -- all great. Both the hummus and the baba ghanoush are so so tasty. It's almost like you're having them for the first time because they taste so different than the dry and not-as-fresh versions you get at many other places. My personal favorite is the falafel wrap. Again, so different than what you usually get. It's so fresh and not dry and greasy like it is at too many other restaurants. The tahini sauce that it comes with is so so good. Can't get enough of it. It seems like so many places now have middle eastern food. Every diner and cafe seems to offer it. And it's often mediocre. So it's so amazing when you get The Real Deal here. It's authentic and you'll immediately be able to tell the difference. And there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Definitely worth the trip if you don't live nearby. read more

Having family in the area, I have had a fair number of subpar pizza slices (ugh.) and terrible sandwiches (really, how can you kill a sandwich?) in the area, and didn't hold my breath for more than that. Having resigned myself to eat at Perkins (again!), I decided to boot up Yelp and see if anything was close by. iCreate popped up and was offering a $5 for $10 and had some decent reviews. I decided it was worth a try. Hey, it couldn't possibly be any worse than Icehouse. Went it, and it looked very different from what I expected, but the man behind the counter knew his food. The tahini was garlicky and tasty. The falafel was baked, not fried, and the pita was spot on. The man made very pleasant conversation, and when I told him that his sandwich rivaled the ones I buy in Manhattan, he was very pleased. A friend and I were at the outlets about 10 miles away and were both hungry, so I fired up Yelp from my iPhone and searched for restaurants nearby that had vegan options, as my friend is vegan. First to come up was iCreate Cafe. A quick look down the menu while in the car, about to leave the parking lot and we both agreed we'd like to give it a shot. Neither of us are from around the area, so we left our fate to Yelpers who left reviews and the looks of the menu. It's in a quaint part of town, and upon entering has a warm atmosphere. Not sure if it's self seating, take-out or if there's seating in the back, we proclaimed we were new and not sure what to do. We were handed menus and spent a few minutes looking them over, then placed our orders and sat at a table near the door and the counter / prep area. Being the only ones in there at the time, the owner made small talk with us, asking how we found it, where we were from, so on. It's actually nice and refreshing when people ask these questions because it means they care about their customers and don't see them as just people coming to give them money. The food was prepared quickly, I had foul and my friend had falafel, we both got an order of grape leaves. Everything is fresh, really fresh, and we could see some of the prep work going on. Probably the best grape leaves I've ever had. Not soaked in heavy oil for a few days prior to serving, these were actually light and refreshing. I also ordered a Syrian coffee that was also excellent.
