I ate here when they first opened. My wife and I ordered and waited almost half an hour, I asked the waiter where was our food and they apologized they had lost it somehow. They brought our food and it was adequate. In the interest of not giving a new business a bad review I chalked it up to start up issues and working out the kinks. We did not go back for several years until two days ago on July 4th. My wife was happy with her food but felt it was not exceptional. I had an omelette, toast and sausage which were all pretty good. The coffee was awful. The big issue was my omelette was brought out and by the time they brought the sausage and toast I was 2/3 done the omelette. I did ask about it twice. So it appears service is still an issue. We will not be going back here again which is a shame as we live near by and like to go out for breakfast. read more

We came here for a quick lunch before continuing on with our day. We were seated immediately. They had homemade vegetable soup. It was a tomato base and it was delicious and piping hot. The pancake was good. Not the best, but it was good. I also had the grilled cheese with fries. The bread was crunchy and soft, and perfectly toasted. My sister and mom enjoyed their meals as well. There were no complaints. Pricing was fair and honest. The staff was so kind and they were working hard. It was a little loud as it is wide open for the most part. This is a hidden gem not far from Ursinus. My husband and I came here for my birthday because I adore omelettes and saw they had them on the menu when we were around the Collegeville area. It was definitely a good choice, and we'll be back soon! I ordered the red pepper omelette with goat cheese. It was perfectly cooked with a generous amount of peppers and cheese! The home fries were made perfectly crispy. Though it was a Saturday morning with a good crowd, the staff were attentive and friendly. My coffee was consistently topped off. The waitstaff are very attentive and very friendly, and it provided a very positive and pleasant atmosphere as we were seated. That's the first thing I noticed. The food looked (photos) and tasted very good. I think they give you a generous serving so that you don't go away hungry. We didn't try any breakfast food on this visit, but judging from what others were eating, they also looked very good. Perhaps next time, I'll try some from the breakfast menu. To summarize, because that's what we all want from a yelp review: The service was fast and friendly. This place IS GOOD for pancakes, crepes, waffles etc... BUT our hashbrowns were SO bland and their gravy was basically oily flour, like they couldn't get the consistency right and kept trying to fix it. A small detail, but the salt shaker on the table? The holes were really big, so we accidentally dumped salt all over our food (which it did need either way) To be completely transparent, my party and I are from the south, so it's possible that there are some culinary regional differences that I am unaware of. My wife likes that they have several gluten-free options and most recently had their cinnamon apple gluten free pancakes, which she said was very good. We have been coming to Grace's for years, but today the female owner was not present. She's always very pleasant, and accommodating. Today, I ordered a combination breakfast which I've ordered many times; it comes with home-fries. The online ordering option makes you choose **how you want home fries done which I did**. EMAIL CONFIRMATION ALSO SHOWED HOME-FRIES. (Screenshot attached) My husband texted me that the home fries were missing from the order so I called the restaurant. A man answered & put the phone down, I could hear him speaking in Spanish to another employee, presumably so I wouldn't understand him. He also talked to customers LAUGHED. I got disgusted, still kept me waiting so I hung up, I called back again; he did the same thing again; talked to customers & made me wait. He told me "It is an on line system error" but I replied,"That's not my fault as the customer". In the meantime the breakfast was cold. I told my husband to just to get a refund because he was being rude; he would not answer me five times when I asked him if he was the owner (I thought he was the owner's husband). He rudely refused to add home fries to the order without charging me, I have ordered this combination several times, so I told my husband just get a refund we will never be back. It's unfortunate that without the owner present, the operation was not run with ethics. So, they just lost a customer. They need to correct their online ordering system. In the meantime, having a bad reputation with a customer is not worth $1.00-$2.00 it would cost for them to add side item which clearly shows it's included!!! By the way HE REFUSED TO GIVE US A REFUND!! And HE KEPT THE TIP AND THE $1.50 "CONVENIENCE FEE" for on line ordering TOO. read more

Grace's cafe is a small business that recently opened in the neighborhood - always good to see, especially a restaurant. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. We have been there a few times for breakfast and loved our experiences until recently when the good was a bit inconsistent. The menu is pretty extensive with american classics with a few mexican options like Huevos Rancheros and a large breakfast burrito. The lunch salads and sandwiched look good and I hope to give that a try soon and report back. I hope their recent inconsistencies are quickly resolved. I counted 88 chairs with tables that can be rearranged. Clean - 4 I walked around, and all looked good. Shiny floors, clean tables, clean bathroom... all looks clean. Music - 3 All they had was Christian music. I score it this way not because I am Christian or not; I do because I like variety.
