I have been referred by some locals and drove about 20 miles out of my way to enjoy a truly spectacular poppyseed bagel with lox and cream cheese. $17 later, I got a very cake like almost non-chewy bagel that actually had too many poppyseeds on it, it looked like a big wad of sandpaper, and I love, poppy seeds! But this was too many. Everything else was fine. I'd give it a six out of a 10 overall but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit bummed to not be able to find an authentic New York style fresh bagel with lox and cream cheese. read more

I've just went this morning to get some bagels because I've woke up with the craving. I'm sorry but I was very disappointed, the bagels were cold and when you cut them it was crumbling... it felt like the bagels were from yesterday. I went at 7:30 am so maybe the fresh ones didn't come out yet. I don't think I would go back... the Wegmans bagels feels a lot fresher (crusty outside and nice and chewy inside) even when I buy them in the afternoon. The staff at Barristers bagels could not have been any sweeter! The bagel options were great and even had some fun flavors like chocolate chip and jalapeño cheddar. They have an entire menu to compliment your bagel or add to it! Everything was also pretty inexpensive. They have a few upgrades as far as ordering and plenty of pup stuff if you have a furry friend with you! Great bagel shop, can't wait to try more! read more

Honestly, most amazing bagels. I am from NY and getting a good bagel out here was nearly impossible. Their bagels are fresh and tasty, they have the good cream cheese, and their SMOOTHIES ARE TO DIE FOR! Really if you are looking for. fabulous tasting smoothie made with care and excitement (really, the gentleman who made it loves making them), this is the place to go for them. Prices are reasonable (from the store, if you order on Door Dash it's always going to be more expensive, go to the store). Went here for the first time today and I have to say these are the best bagels in the Pottstown area. The everything bagel was toasted perfectly with the right amount of cream cheese. I would say that the bagels at Barrister's Bagels are as good as anything I ever had in 20 years of living in NYC. Perfect amount of chewiness and densely packed poppy seeds on my bagel with butter. We also had the cream cheese and lox on an everything bagel. It was so good and the lox were excellent, fresh and flavorful. The service was friendly and fast. Great spot for a bagel, comparable to an nyc bagel, not a full 5/5 but pretty darn close, since it's the best spot I've found in the Pottstown/Boyertown area. The breakfast sandwich and cream cheese selection is always fresh, and great value. $3.00 for a bagel and cream cheese in my book isn't a bad deal. EXCELLENT bagels. I've lived in Upper Pottsgrove for 19 years with not many choice for good quality food let alone Bagels. We had Einstein for a few years but they were way too inconsistent and closed ( go figure ) lol.
