A disappointing lesser child of its original Laurel location. Loud and echoing inside, due to questionable decisions in decor and trim - hard to have a conversation. Service was acceptable, if not remarkable. The problem here was the food. Fish and chips were obviously made from frozen - fish was dry and tasteless, and the batter was greasy and fell off. Fries were also greasy and limp. Cole slaw was bland and flavorless. My wife had an Italian style sandwich also ended up leaving most of it behind. Cream of crab was good, but only served lukewarm. I have to say this review is mixed....I enjoyed my meal but the others did not and I was surprised to hear this when we left. First off, we asked to be moved from our first seats since the air was blowing right on us. (Had Mom with us and she's 94...I even put that in my notes when I made the reservation)...we finally moved with some coaxing. Our server Juddith was delightful and really tried hard getting my drink order right; I really appreciated it. I started with the shrimp tempura and a cold noodle salad. Others had a white chicken chili, a French onion soup and a watermelon Greek salad. Entrees I had the Parmesan crusted cod, some type of sandwich and the entrees that didn't deliver for 2 of our guests were the short rib pot roast. We supported Paul Cullen with a bottle of his wine for our meal as well. I'll still be supporting local and will be giving them another try. read more

Met a friend for dinner and a drink. It was very busy on a weeknight as we arrived at the end of happy hour. We did get a high top table in the bar area pretty quickly. We ordered a sangria and it was delicious but a bit pricey. For dinner I had the French onion soup and a Caesar salad with shrimp. The French onion soup had great flavor. The caesar salad was decent and the shrimp was excellent. Our server was attentive and did a great job. Overall a good experience and we will try it again as it is a great location. We had a reservation for 8 at 6:30 PM and were promptly seated, which was a good start. Unfortunately, the service quickly fell short, no one greeted us or took a drink order for at least 10 minutes. Drinks: Mostly Misses * The Bloody Mary was a major letdown--made with a pre-mixed base that tasted more like regret than refreshment. Save your time and money. * The Wine Margarita was overly sweet and lacked any noticeable tequila presence. * The Mojitos were the highlight of the drink menu, especially the Blueberry Mojito, which got solid praise from our group. Appetizers: Underwhelming * They were out of chicken wings, which was disappointing. * The Fried Mozzarella sounded amazing on the menu but fell flat in execution. * Calamari was standard--nothing memorable. * Nachos were decent but suffered from a poor chip-to-topping ratio, even after adding beef. The chicken was incredibly bland and dry. * The Shrimp were impressively large but needed more sauce to bring out their flavor. Service: Inconsistent * No one asked if we wanted drink refills. * Two people had to flag down the waitress for a second beer, which was forgotten until reminded. Dinner: More Style Than Substance * The Chicken Cutlet Sandwich had fantastic bread, but the cutlet itself was just a basic fried chicken piece. The balsamic and burrata were barely there. * The Fries were good, but not enough to redeem the meal. Overall: A Major Disappointment Despite a promising start and a few bright spots (mojitos and fries), the experience was marred by slow service, mediocre food, and poor attention to detail. I will not be back. We tried to buy the balsamic glaze and a jar of pickles from the store in front. They could not figure out how to ring up the balsamic. We heard about Abbott's Grill from an acquaintance and, even though it took over 45 minutes to get there, it was worth the visit! At noon on a Thursday we were greeted and seated promptly. Nice, airy open dining room. I noticed a loft upstairs with a few tables as well. We had delicious drinks to start: a tart cider for me and Lemoncello Mule for hubby. We wanted to try the crab soup, but they were out of it (kind of strange-being out of a menu item as soon as the restaurant opened), but we got the white chicken chili instead and I'm glad we did! Our first time having it and it was scrumptious! Packed with chunks of chicken, fresh corn and a few peppers in a creamy, chickeny sauce. I wish I could get the recipe! It was a very generous portion so we ended up eating only half of our sandwiches. They had unique names and I don't remember the exact name, but my husband had a sandwich with two pieces of fried chicken breast, prosciutto, roasted red peppers and burrata cheese. It came on a beautiful roll covered with sesame seeds. Sandwiches came with a choice of unique sides: macaroni salad, potato salad, some kind of slaw, or french fries. He opted for the fries which were tasty and fresh. He liked his sandwich but wished it had one less chicken breast and more "good stuff." And by that he meant more prosciutto or roasted peppers. I had a fried fish sandwich that came with a delicious mango salsa. It was on the same good sesame covered roll, and I opted for a side of pasta salad. The pasta salad was fine... I brought home the leftovers and plan to doctor it up. If you're in the Milton area or at the Rehoboth outlets, stop by Abbotts Grill - we plan to visit again. read more

We were lucky to get 2 seats at the bar, great start. Bar staff were very attentive, we gave great service. The restaurant is very large, and very noisy. I would not sit anywhere but the bar and high top area. We ordered from the HH menu, steamed shrimp were great, soy garlic wings were great, really crispy and flavorful, and the onion soup, which was delicious! That plus 3 very good fresh squeezed orange juice ( very weak however ) each and we had plenty to eat. Bill was 64.50, great price for that much food and drink. We had lunch today at this restaurant. Greeted and seated by the friendly and personable manager. Waitress was efficient though she lacked personality. (Very transactional). We ordered the scallop and Brussel sprouts salad and the roast beef sandwiches. The scallops were tasty but could have been cooked a bit longer. This place has good food, crossed with a "cafeteria" vibe the way the tables are all in an open area with echo. Enjoyed the scallops + risotto (they easily left off the lardons for me!). The seafood was well-cooked. The service was a bit sluggish -- the table we were seated at was between sections, and it took a bit to sort it out -- but eventually we did fine. read more

We would give this a zero if possible. The food is okay, but the take out process is a nightmare. Due to a disabled family member we have ordered take out at least 10 times and have had an issue EVERY time. Missing items, misreading the name on the bag, not knowing the menu, payment problems with the POS system, etc. We finally called this to the attention of the manager, so hopefully this situation will improve. One of our group had called to make a reservation, and was told that a reservation wasn't necessary, that we should just come in. Perhaps if we had been able to make a reservation, they could have been better prepared and staffed to provide more efficient service for a large group like ours. Although special birthday ice cream desserts had been arranged to be presented to a few ladies at our table, I don't believe the server asked any of the rest of us if we would like to order dessert. At 6:30, it was a 30 minute wait, but we were lucky they had 3 seats open at the bar. Very quaint welding area as soon as you enter. My dad had the catfish which he really enjoyed (it had a little spicy kick), my mom had the butternut squash lasagna which she thought was excellent. What a pleasant surprise all around!!! Six of us met for cocktails and a late lunch. The decor is what you notice immediately. It is so bright, well thought out and catches your attention by the myriad of interesting decor ideas. You feel immediately comfortable in your surroundings. The staff were neat, clean and extremely friendly. Our waiter Joshua was attentive, funny and provided spot on recommendations. The food was EXCELLENT; served promptly, hot and by several staff members ensuring everyone received their food together. The turkey reubens were great as were the salads. My second & last time dining at Abbott's. Returned in November because we had a good meal there in August. Our food, service & dining experience were all poor on this most recent occasion. Our waitress was inattentive. We had to ask her multiple times for waters to be refilled. We were a party of 2 and our entrees came out 10 minutes apart. The second meal (pork tenderloin special) was RAW. Had to send back & same plate was re-served 5 minutes later presumably microwaved. No apology from waitress. No discount. Bill was just over $100 for 2 drinks, 2 appetizers & 2 entrees. The first time at Abbott's in August our server was great. Same server was there in November but unfortunately we were seated in the section of a pathetic waitress that ruined our experience. Sadly, local businesses are only as good as their employees. We would have considered giving Abbott's a 3rd chance if they hadn't stuck us with paying $25 for the raw meal. The new grab & go take out that Abbott's just opened next to the restaurant looks good and we may try some of their premade treats in future. But we will NOT be returning to a restaurant that serves RAW food and doesn't practice customer service. Such a shame because we like supporting locally owned restaurants in Sussex County. read more

Went on Saturday night for an early dinner before show at Milton Theater. Our waiter, Ethan, was extremely helpful filling our drinks quickly and explaining the menu and specials. We all ordered one of the specials, crab stuffed shrimp, which was delicious served with mashed potatoes and a green bean medley of beans, shallots with cherry tomatoes and sun dried tomatoes. Excellent service and delicious food. The restaurant is noisy with the vaulted ceiling but upstairs dining is quieter. read more

Was very excited to visit a new eatery in Milton, DE. Res was easy as they use "Toast". Got there 5 minutes for our two. Took about 3-4 minutes to be seated so no biggie. Were seat right next to the waitress station. Not the beat place but again no biggie. Found out at 5:30 that they have a Happy Hour til 6 so we ordered our drinks straight away plus the mussels frites. A couple of minutes later we were informed they ran out of mussels (5:40pm on a Friday) so we changed to Fried Calamari with spicy brown butter & blue cheese. Got the app but still no drinks and already 20 minutes into HH. App was ok not great as the butter wasn't brown or spicy. So there was one piece of calamari left before we got our drinks. Then we noticed we only had 3 minutes until the end of HH so we flagged down our waitress as she flew by to order a glass of wine with just 1 minute to spare. My partner had Short Ribs that were very good but the Brussels Sprouts were soggy. I got their Chicken Milanese with rigatoni. The rigatoni was fine but when is this ever considered a Milanese?
