Mushroom Barley Soup
Tatiana W.

I have passed by here many times and it is always empty looking. Today I actually stopped for a late lunch-nobody in there but owner and server. They had specials listed and it was buy one entree get one free and a free rice pudding. The veggie of the day was mixed veggies. Soup was Mushroom barley which was pretty decent. Our server was a bit gruff and never offered refills. We chose the meatloaf and the stuffed shells. It came with soup, a salad or an additional side. Mom ordered meatloaf with mashed and gravy and with the mixed veggies. She chose the soup. We were still eating our soup when the entrees came out-a pet peeve of mine.I hate stacked meals! No need for it in an essentially empty place! No mixed veggies came out. We were told it would be an up-charge since she had soup and mashed. WTF? At least the meatloaf was decent to Mom. My stuffed shells were A bit odd tasting. Maybe Greek style sauce? Ok better yet we order our "free" rice pudding. Nope they didn't make any that day- on specials board. No offer of a substitute dessert. Mom got the Cheescake with Strawberries. I can see why they are always empty. Open 24 hours 7 days a week and I am all for the local businesses but avoid it if you can.

We were in the area and decided to stop here without research and I can say wow we got lucky! Amazing food and service can't wait to come back!

Spinach & feta omelet with rye toast

I met a friend at Rehoboth Diner today for brunch. We were coming from different directions & wanted to meet somewhere for a bite where we would not be rushed and we could catch up. This place is on the busy strip out beyond the outlets. It was not crowded, but there were a couple of other tables filled when we arrived around 11 am. We both ordered the spinach and feta omelet with hash browns. The omelet was yummy and the hash browns were nice and crispy. The coffee was also very good, and the server was pleasant. This is a standard diner layout with booths.

Was looking for a good diner in the area while we have been down here Rehoboth and a quick Google search brought this place up with some 4-5 star reviews. When we got here, the parking lot is in the back of the establishment and it wasn't too crowded around 5:30pm on a Monday. When we came inside, the host was very kind (although dressed in what looked like just regular casual/street type clothes but whatever) and seated us immediately. The vibe in the diner is ambient actually and more natural lighted. There are more direct spotlighting on top of the tables rather that some other diners are super bright inside. The waitress we had was very sweet and very attentive. As for our food and drinks, we ordered coffees and it took a little bit to arrive due to our waitress making a fresh pot for us :) The burgers were juicy and thick, bun was crispy although it sort of reminded us of a McDonalds burger bun not going to lie. There was a LOT of cheese on the burgers and it made the burgers really greasy which in turn, made the buns soggy after sitting for like 5 mins. The fries were good, standard diner fries. The only reason I knocked off two stars was because: A. the overly greasy burgers with no lettuce, tomato or onion (wasn't even asked especially for my cheeseburger you would think ) B. we ordered those mozzarella sticks in the middle of the picture of our food as our appetizer and it came out at the exact same time as our entrees and it wasn't really that hot (warm enough) but it showed that it was just sitting in the kitchen then entire time our entrees were being made. Interesting local diner, I do recommend giving it a chance because the staff were so friendly and food wasn't terrible.

Foods always great and servers are classic diner sweethearts. She was very polite with all my grandmothers questions about the food/establishment. It's a usual diner inside although a little dark. They post they are 24/7 but this sometimes changes. Food was standard diner but I didn't love how they do their hash browns. My bfast sandwich was excellent and their use rapa scrapple! It's a bit pricey for the portion sizes.

I had a mediocre experience here. Walked in on a Sunday morning as a single diner and was seated promptly. Ordered pancakes, eggs, and sausage. While my server was indeed attentive, the food took a little longer than expected to arrive. It was also somewhat underwhelming as the pancakes were a little crispy. Not the worst breakfast I've ever had, but def not the best either.

Cheeses steak burrito. No provolone but the mozzarella was a good touch instead.

I'm not sure where to start. We couldn't find the entrance for a minute, but it's in the back near the farthest side of the parking lot. When you walk in, you'll notice it needs some decor repairs and/or updating. It is very dark and well used. When we're there about 2pm and there were 3 tables of customers. We were seated right away. We ordered Turkey and dressing and a salad. No blue cheese, so I ordered Italian. They really give small salads. The turkey arrived hot, but again, not much on the plate and very little stuffing. The burrito was good, but they don't have provolone. The mozzarella was a fine addition instead. The fries were seasoned and good. This place looks like it's struggling, but there are a lot of places nearby that are busy ..Lunch was $30, not really worth it. The kicker was they charge .70 for a small amount of lettuce on the burrito. We won't be back. Unfortunately.

Dirty windows and Tabasco bottle that looks like it's never been replaced. Could use some renovations.

I thought my omelet was one of the best I've had in a long time. And how can you go wrong with the large mimosas. Great breakfast!

But enough of that jibber jabber, no need to make him sadder, no more back and forth banter, I'm the clear Champion. I walked into Sammy's to begin my day, wanting to a simple breakfast sandwich but instead I ordered the ham and eggs. Yeah I said ham and eggs. "But NPSwizzle again?" Yeah, again, I love my ham and eggs. I also ordered three drinks. A coffee, a water, and an OJ freshly squeezed. The tastes were delish, and the colors were so bold. Oh so colorful and bold like my buddy Joseph and his technicolor coat. I doubled up on my cup of Joe. My daughter ordered the taco omelet, and she loved it. She loved it so much that she wanted one to go. Kids. They're too funny. She says I look like a whale but eat so quickly like a bunny. The ham and eggs were perfect, not too salty not too sweet. The eggs were aplenty, and the hash browns were a treat. Sammy's is a staple, and I'm so glad we were able, to get ourselves a table, and eat some great foods while watching basic cable. The best part of it all is that it doesn't cost and arm and leg. Sammy, you fine person, you made a lovely place. A safe space where visitors can eat and enjoy at their own pace. This one is easy to grade...8.75/10, would definitely eat here again. NP$

"Did it look like that to you?" "No, it was a pokey little hole." So, I double checked my notes to see if I was looking at the wrong place. Nope. Checked the map yelp provides. Yeo, that was the place. I went to and wow was my experience different. My wife and I found it looking down a small side alley, the sort that has charming little shops off the main drag. The place was small and dark, and words like 'charming old-style drifted in my mind. and 'old school local place, what coffee shops were like before Starbucks.' There was a high counter and a couple of people sitting off to the side, talking around a small table. and it went downhill from there. As we stood there one of the people sitting bellowed out a woman's name and said 'customers!" I would later find out this guy was the owner/manager but he seemed more involved in his conversation while a small older woman, I'd noticed hauling trash bags and the like, seemed to be his sole employee, who was also supposed to serve food. It was a small thing but it sort of stuck in my mind as to 'why didn't he help?' my wife and I each got a coffee and they were only about $3 each. OK good. The milk was in a fridge in the corner, and this is where things went south. I poured it in and it was off. We were several days past the 'use by' date and it was not viable. I point this out and the owner from his chair said 'oh, get another.' and moved behind the counter. I thought he was getting me a fresh cup but he seemed surprised to see me standing there when he turned around a couple of minutes later. I guess he was refreshing HIS cup but meant I could open another container of milk in the fridge to pour different milk into the cup I'd already added sour milk to. "Oh do you want another cup of coffee?" At this point I'd had enough. I wasn't going to make a fuss, it was only $3, but I wasn't going to stand there any longer. I left. Between the dingy setting, yelling at employee(s), sour milk and an inability to see a problem with this I honestly wondered if I was being punked. My wife, who took her cup black, said she found it too sweet but after the parade of what I saw, I am beyond surprised at the large number of good reviews here. I'd like to say maybe I got them on a bad day but with the pictures being at such variance form my experience, wow. And I looked very closely before I wrote all this and could see how those would be the same place but just, a long time before I got there.

Service was quick and personable which is really not that common anymore. Pickle chips were super tasty with a good sauce. We both had sandwiches and both barely finished half, the portions are worth 2 regular or 3 small meals! The chicken could have used more seasoning but it was plenty. The salmon burger was also huge and perfectly cooked. What everyone knows to be true is- you want to be fed well and have a great time trying new drinks, definitely check out Dogfish.
