I decided to try one of my usual sandwiches, The Rachel for comparison sake & added Sweet potato fries (additional upgrade). I asked & was happy the special spicy sauce I loved to combine with the fries was still available under a different name, Texas sauce. I will say, my sandwich was much better than in "the old days" because this was made with actual carved turkey thick slices as opposed to thin cold cut turkey from prior ownership. I was a happy camper! My hubby tried something new to him at Whiskers, he had a chicken cheesesteak sub and was pleasantly surprised and impressed to find it was not finely chopped up chicken, but cut up grilled chicken chunks with nicely sautéed onions. We were happy to return, pleased to find that good quality & taste was still there and its what we were used to after almost 15 years of frequenting here. I'm an Italian Jersey born boy who's had the privilege of living in one of the pizza capitals of the world, being close to New York, New Haven and Philadelphia. Delaware is NOT a state where I've enjoyed pizza and Italian food in general, but my goodness has my faith been restored by Porto's. As soon as a I walked in, the vibe and ambiance screamed "authentic" and "soul." My family and I knew we were in for a good meal immediately. The margarita pizza is easily the best pizza I've had the pleasure of experiencing in the entire state of DE and arguably most spots I've frequented in NJ and NY. This quickly became one of our fave dinner spots! They are middle of the road with gluten free options. It was very busy and loud, not something they can do much about.
