I had a really good time and enjoyed the cozy ambiance of the Country Kitchen family restaurant. Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner with friends or family. The only negatives I have for this spot was the that some of the people who came in didn't give off the appearance of caring too much about cleanliness or etiquette in a restaurant. The other negative is that the food for the table took a little longer to get than any of us would like. The food being phenomenal definitely made up for the tardiness and delay, especially due to how busy the place was. read more

Guess I could've given it 4 Stars ... food was good. But they don't have a hostess. The waiters and waitresses are seating and it appears to be a free for all. The waiter was a nice guy but too busy so the service suffered. I had another person bring my ideas tea and it was supposed to be sweet. But it came loaded with Sugar. Think Georgia iced tea. So I had to wait for a replacement and getting a refill. The other thing is the decor. The old mill pond definitely needed to be updated but they put a weird dark wood wall down the middle and painted with darker blues and reds so the place is dark even in the morning Despite that if still go again... it's just weird read more

My 2 nd visit Dinner - excellent tuna salad sandwich , chicken vegetable soup & fries. My dinner companion ate chicken quesadillas with soup - navy bean. This is my favorite spot to go to for breakfast whenever I'm in the area. Since my parents live in the area, I get to have it more than just once in a blue moon. We usually do to-go orders, but we ate in the restaurant for the first time this past Saturday. As good as it is when we get it to go, nothing like eating it fresh from the kitchen! Its diner cuisine, but it is done perfectly to order - every time we've gotten food from here, its been done exactly as requested. One time, when they were in their previous location, we had one issue that they fixed immediately. The food is good, but the service is just as good; Kaitlyn, despite it being her first or second week was as bright and efficient as the other servers and we had no room for complaint. Or dessert. Ordered lunch takeout for the crew at work today. Two wanted breakfast omelettes for lunch and I got the Greek salad with chicken breast and Greek dressing. The crew really enjoyed their omelettes. The salad was huge, definitely enough for two people! It Included a whole hard boiled egg and a large freshly grilled chicken breast. Typical Greek toppings with the salad. The salad came with 2 containers of Greek dressing. I really only needed one. A nice warm pita was included on the side. read more

Stopped there for a quick bite for lunch around1:30 pm on Monday, 11/3/25. Place was not full at all. Shown to a table quickly with menus and silverware. And it ends there as no one came back to take our order or check on us. There was one other table in the section we were in and the server was by their table several times. We finally left after 25 minutes of being ignored and when the person at the podium/register asked my husband how everything was his response- we never placed an order and sat at the table for 25 minutes without any drink/food so NOT GOOD!! Won't be back again. We got better service up the road at Chick-fil-A and a free dessert!! Sent two messages to Country Kitchen via their website and never heard anything back from them. Poor service along with poor communication...seems it has happened before as per other reviews. read more

I drove a lot today and decided to stop here for an early dinner. There were 4 customers in the restaurant at the time. We were seated right away, and after just a few minutes, the waitress stopped by. We ordered a cheesesteak wrap with lettuce and mayo . That wasn't bad at all. I ordered the cheese burger club with mayo and coleslaw. The waitress came back to ask how I wanted the burger, and I told her, medium. Salads came with the meal, and they were fresh tasting, and the Blu cheese dressing wasn't too bad. BUT the burger was very, very well done, and NO mayonnaise on it. Now I'm exhausted and hungry so I didn't say anything. I could see if they were busy, but they were nearly empty. See my pics. Pleasantly surprised. Staff / waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Food came out quickly and hot. I got a tasty fried flounder sandwich with fries cooked just right. We were looking for a nice lunch on our way home from Virginia Beach. We sat for 25 minutes and no one came to serve us. Won't stop again.

I am amazed that Country Kitchen can exist offering such reasonable lunches and dinners. They post their offerings online. Where else can you get a cup of soup and a chef's salad for $9.99. The salad was large enough to serve two or in my case, a lunch and dinner. A nice amount of turkey, ham and cheese and a hard boiled egg served with garlic toast. Cheaper than eating at home. I probably shouldn't say this, but their chicken pot pie is delicious and served for lunch and dinner one day a week. Not surprisingly, the Country Kitchen is filled with regulars and you can take out as well! read more

If you are looking for a sophisticated diner with lots of adjectives in the menu, keep driving. The atmosphere is a bit low budget that could use some sparkle. The food is basic and ok. Good hash browns, pancakes and omelette. My decaf coffee not exactly trendy coffee shop quality. But the lady server there is the biggest sweetheart, so pleasant and happy. This is my local diner. Good people trying the best they can with a breakfast, lunch, dinner menu. Country has outstanding customer service often displaying grace under pressure especially on weekends. For our taste(s) it's a great breakfast and lunch place --- omelettes, pancakes, grilled cheese, fries -- but as a dinner destination not so much. We appreciate Country tries to give locals plenty of options for dinner (a recent specials board held no less than six entrees), but like other diners in the area, Georgetown and Frankford, dinner meals are made as if they were breakfast which means frequently over done and soggy plates of open face sandwiches (for example) which could have been fine with a lighter touch. Breakfast and lunch basics are its strengths, more complex dinners its Achille's heel. read more

Wife and I stopped for lunch the other day a little after 12 and the place was almost filled. No ambience at all and that's OK because you don't come to country kitchen for ambience. I had a chicken, salad wrap and wife had meatball sub. Both were excellent, each sandwich comes with french fries and choice of salad or soup. I had the chicken noodle soup, which was one of the best I've ever had, loaded with noodles and nice pieces of carrot and celery and shreds of chicken. The broth was light, but tasty and very little fat in it. My chicken salad wrap came out with the wrap having been slightly warmed on the grill so it had a little crunched to it and the chicken salad was mostly white meat and nicely seasoned, clearly homemade. Wife's meatball and cheese sub was excellent, as well with the roll being particularly good in that it was thin, and had very little of the white fluffy bread and it was crispy. read more

Maybe it was the day....watched multiple people walk out. Multiple people complaining. Food was taking over an hour. Tables weren't being taken care of. Waited about 20 minutes before a waitress even came to the table. This place is just a mess. I've worked in restaurants my entire life. I just don't know how this place is open and running daily after the experience me and my family had. Do not stop here. And don't get me started on the bathrooms.
