    Spinach salad with chicken.

This is a cute spot for brunch in downtown Lewes. My wife, two sons, and I ate in the enclosed outdoor patio as the main restaurant was crowded. My wife enjoyed an omelette with home fries. One of my sons had a salad with chicken. My younger son and I had the artisanal sandwich (chicken with avocado and brioche). To be honest, it was kind of meh. I would stick with traditional items (like the omelette). For the location and service, it's a nice place to dine.

This place was adorable! Limited seating so get there early. The food was fresh and delicious and the coffees were great! We'll be back for sure.

Stylish spot for breakfast! No fuss and fairly good options overall. More gluten free options would be great. Had some friends in town and we decided to go here. Everyone was very satisfied with their orders, my gluten free self included. Would absolutely come back here!

Eggcellent service. Eggcellent food. Lox Egg Benedict and Norwegian Bagel Sammy was amazing. We camp at Cape Henlopen every year and just found this place. We will return for more eggceptional food. Service couldn't have been better. They were extremely accommodating of our party of six.

Nice restaurant in town. Good service. Meals arrived quickly and were really tasty. Large portions, good value. The Strawberry French toast was more than I could eat in one sitting, so I took it home.

5/5 ambiance 5/5 service 3/5 food Really cute spot in Lewes. Lowkey, diner ambiance. Food was mediocre. The granola didn't pair well with the French toast and was stale. There's a lot of potential in this dish, could consider topping with toasted pecans, whipped cream or mousse, and caramel drizzle - remove the granola and raisins.

Came here for brunch on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant busy with patrons. There were several specials on the menu that were seasonal and available for purchase. Since it was fall I ordered the pumpkin pancakes. The cakes were light and fluffy with a subtle pumpkin flavor. I could have gone for a bit more spice, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. We also ordered a BLT which came out with crispy bacon and a generous serving of avocado. The service was quick and friendly and we enjoyed sitting outside because the weather was mild for November. There were lots of beverages to choose from -- coffee, tea, and chilled drinks. A great spot for breakfast or a relaxing lunch.

Eggcellent is a quaint spot for breakfast best suited to small parties

Bottom Line: Quaint spot for pairs or small parties to have breakfast or lunch. My husband and I had a Sunday morning breakfast at Eggcellent on Market Street. We enjoyed the quaint atmosphere, whimsical artwork, attentive service and variety of breakfast options. My husband enjoyed a huge omelette full of veggies and I branched out form my normal high-protein breakfast for French Toast. The French Toast had whipped creamer, fresh berries, granola and cinnamon on it so it was surely a decadent treat. We washed all of that deliciousness down with black coffee. We visited Eggcellent on a Sunday morning in March about 8am and I was surprised that it wasn't very busy. I suspect the crowds come later. Hopefully those crowds come in parties of two or four because Eggcellent is rather small and probably only seats about 45 people between a few tables on the front porch, a back patio (I think) and the tables inside. In other words, I wouldn't bring my rowdy friends here for breakfast but I certainly enjoyed Eggcellent for a peaceful and delicious start to the day and I'd be happy to return.

Food was Eggcellent. Our waiter was excellent. We needed pet friendly location after our camping trip and this was perfect. We were in a sun room. We'll be back !

This small café has a cozy outdoor seating area where we decided to sit. We were seated right away, and our waiter was very kind. We ordered avocado toast with two eggs and just the right amount of sliced potatoes on both dishes. I went with the veggie omelette with American cheese, which was cooked just right. Afterward, it's easy to walk around and explore the nearby shops. Parking is conveniently located about a five-minute walk away.

We went here today for lunch and were seated immediately even though it was crowded, which was great! We all had sandwiches and they came with fries. Their fries were very crispy and yummy! We all really enjoyed our sandwiches as well! We will come back again for breakfast when we are in Lewes.

When our party arrived, we sat in a place that would be good with the dogs, because their was another dog near the entrance. My friend had asked for a high chair and the high chair arrived beyond disgusting. We were all grossed out by the state of the high chair and our table - no one wiped it clean or did anything. I helped and cleaned it for my friend and the picture that I posted is after the fact it's been wiped. Please imagine how bad it was before I wiped it with 4 sanitizing wipes. The waitress, Becky came over and asked if we're ready to order, meanwhile she saw our entire party wiping the tables and high chair and never once offered to clean it. She didn't even understand that we haven't looked at the menu because we're too busy doing the restaurant's job to offer a clean environment to eat and dine. She seemed annoyed that we weren't ready and left and turns out the other dog was her daughter's and they were there hanging out. She, of course seemed more cheerful there, then she was with our party that just sat. We haven't done anything to annoy her besides just arriving. The restaurant did provide water bowls for the dogs, but no one really seemed to be happy to see dogs being there, so not sure why this place would be a great place to take dogs. I just really thought all the staff here would all love dogs. I didn't taste the smashburger, but it was flagged that it wasn't a true smashburger, since there wasn't any crispiness or thinness. It was just a regular burger. I got the mussels daily flavour that was "Thai" - decent, but a lot of the mussels came closed and not sure why it would be "Thai" when they used jalapenos as their heat. Shrimp Basket - not great. Very disappointing experience - wished I didn't pick this place and wasted a meal here for the sake of wanting to bring my dogs to a place where I thought would be a great place for them.

Moving here from LA recently and enjoying my fair share of Michelin restaurants in my time, I'm 100% certain, if it were in any big city they would 100% have a star (or 2). We were greeted by a great waiter who went through the menu options and the drinks. The space itself was very lively and on the louder side. We started with an extra dirty martini and old-fashioned. The old-fashioned had unique ingredients, including a banana Liquor. This addition made it more on the sweet side than I would've preferred but nonetheless booze forward and good. We started with two appetizers, including the rabbit pierogi and the house pulled Burata cheese. The pierogies were cooked perfectly and tasted very good. They didn't have a game flavor and they came with a very light cream sauce. The Burata cheese was also soft and creamy and came with a house made jam. For entrées, we had the rockfish which was a nice light, white fish, smaller portion over a tomato broth. The fish was cooked perfectly and not dry. We also opted for the flank steak. This came to the table pre-sliced and was also cooked perfectly. They do have dessert options however we were so full from dinner. We were unable to have dessert. All in all, it was a great spot for a good meal. This spot is more on the expensive side and for a special occasion that has a romantic feel. The parking is on street only and that can be dicey depending on what time of day you come and how busy Lewes is.

Steak and Cake Special with a Canal View…read more Tried Harbor in Lewes, Delaware, located right along the canal in the downtown district, and it definitely leans toward the upscale side of dining in town. As soon as you walk in, you can feel that polished, higher end atmosphere, and the canal views make for a really nice setting. I went during the off season in early March and caught their Wednesday night Steak and Cake special. For $36 you get a six ounce filet mignon, a crab cake, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a Caesar salad. For a restaurant of this caliber, that's a pretty solid deal. The Caesar salad came out fresh and crisp, and for the first time ever I noticed something you rarely see anymore -- two small sardine strips on top, which is actually the traditional way to serve a true Caesar. The entree was nicely plated. The filet was ordered medium. Parts of it were cooked perfectly and very tender, though a couple bites were a little chewy. The crab cake was the highlight. Very meaty with minimal filler, which is exactly what you want this close to the Delaware coast. Mashed potatoes had that homemade style with a few lumps. Some people love that rustic feel, though I personally prefer them a little smoother. The green beans were simply steamed but had great flavor. Service was excellent. My waitress Kim was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept, including the restrooms. Overall, a very enjoyable meal with great flavor across the board. I'd definitely come back and would be curious to see what the atmosphere is like here during the busy summer season.

The mahi mahi special was good, maybe a little dry, but I really enjoyed the bed of wild rice that it was served with, a little chew and lots of rich flavor. The disappointment of the night was the brisket - I suppose after having brisket from Texas, you're forever spoiled and can't help but judge everything to that standard. It was dry and a little tough, not a lot of flavor. Overall highly recommend, this remind one of my favorite Lewes restaurants.

A waitress that noticed that we had not been helped for awhile caught my eye as I was looking for our server stopped by and took our drink order and apologized for the wait and shared that most servers were just coming on duty. So that was the only negatives I have for our lunch. The restaurant is not super large but it is very cute. Has a lot of cute decorations and a good feel, although I am not a big fan of plastic over the seat coverings but I understand it makes it easier to keep it clean. I ordered a western omelette (don't forget to tell them to add cheese or you don't get any) and potatoes and a biscuit. Also had a glass of the fresh squeezed OJ and it was perfect. The food was excellent and the portion size was good, my only comment was that the biscuit could have been a bit more cooked but the taste was divine. My husband had the reuben and fries and his was very good also. The cost was a little over $50 so not somewhere I would go daily for breakfast but it is located in the tourist area so to be expected. I would recommend a visit for a great meal and I am looking forward to going again and trying some pancakes or French toast. Enjoy!

Once I saw shrimp and grits on the menu, I immediately zeroed in on that. I love shrimp and grits going back to my Winchester days. Succulent shrimp, cheesy grits, and a nice porky meat to give it extra character. Here they use chorizo. But ham or bacon are good options as well. I also like that they give you eight big pieces of shrimp. Not like other restaurants that only give you two or four prawns and call it a day. The crab bisque is good too. A tasty soup that works well this time of year. Even though it was cold the first go around, the second one tasted hot and fresh. Of course it would taste good. The Delmarva region is abundant in crabs. Just as I would expect a clam chowder to taste great in New England or Manhattan. One thing to nitpick, it should come with oyster crackers, not saltines. Located in the quaint downtown, Striper Bites pays homage to Lewes' history as a former Dutch whaling and port city with nautical themed decor. Large wooden barrels, ship steering wheels, mounted fish and nets adorn the walls and accent the dark wooden furniture and color palette. There is a diverse menu, but when I'm in town with friends and family...I keep it simple. I'll usually start with one of the many beers on draft; check the chalkboard for what's on tap from the ever changing selection. The crab dip is an AMAZING appetizer. Chunks of crab meat are mixed in with cheese, given a quick bake, and served with buttered toast points. Great for sharing. You can also ask for additional pieces of bread (which I usually do) to sop up any residual dip. The bistro burger is nothing fancy...but everything a good pub style burger should be. A well seasoned angus beef patty is grilled is topped with aged white cheddar, bacon jam, house sauce, arugula, and nestled in a briche bun. The side of fries are also nice and crispy. Honestly, I've had the fish and chips, the fried shrimp, and other seafood dishes, and no suprise, it's all good. Service is always friendly, but not always as "prompt" when it gets busy - which in the summer during the high tourist season - but that's to be understood.
