The establishment was what was expected when on inside. I wish it was a little warmer, so we could have had dinner with dog outside instead of carry-out. The staff seemed truly friendly which is nice on vacation since a lot of places these days people are just rude, They made me feel welcome which is nice. The food was decent. We enjoyed the lobster roll and enjoyed the fish sandwich with hopes that it was truly fresh and not a Captain Sully's Summer Vacation Event. We gave a 4 not a 5 since prices were high and always get disappointed paying these prices when we can make the same thing at home. Final spot Wifey and I hit before going home. This establishment is easy to locate with plenty of parking. The ambiance was great along with the service. Wifey went with the New England Clam Chowder and I got the Fish and Chips. The Chowder was good, however had more potatoes than clams and the saltine crackers were staled, but the flavor and consistency was there. The Fish and Chips were good, however not the best I have had at other British F&C restaurants. Overall, if you are in the vicinity and want good seafood, we recommend this restaurant and if you are a hot sauce lover, please make sure you buy a bottle of Matt's house hot sauce, because it's excellent! read more

We were in Rehoboth beach for two days and decided to dine at Matt's. The service was delightful, our server was friendly, kind, patient and helpful. The restaurant has a wonderful beach town vibe. Very clean, upbeat and authentic feeling. The food was delicious. We were a big party and everyone ordered something different. Everything was great. The exception being the Mac and cheese. We found it to be a bit grainy and unpleasant. Besides that the food was served hot and was so good. It was memorably good. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken, which was very similar to the very same meal I had had in Nashville- which was impressive and a happy surprise. The food is just really good. I highly recommend. Came on a busy holiday weekend. Staff was pleasant and ready for the rush. I thought I would have to wait to dine based on the crowd but there was a table available! I was really taken by how much of a well oiled machine they ran this place, it was all hands on deck to feed people and get them out with great service. I settled on the crab cake sandwich with crab fries. The crab cake was delicious with no filler! Everything looked and tasted fresh. I did get a few shell pieces but they were so small and I understand if you're picking crabs you're liable to get some shell. The crab fondue for the fries was tasty, I thought it'd be more cream based but it wasn't too thick and still had a great crab flavor. Was it expensive ? Yes, but for the quality, the season and the location what do you expect?? This place does food well, people well and service well. I'll be back for sure. Moved us to the back while I was fine with. Ordered cocktails, pineapple martini and a paper plane. I wasn't crazy about it but it was just ok. Ordered appetizer of fried calamari and our entrees fish n chips. Here's the problem I'm eating my appetizer and the entrees come out. How?...Restaurant wasn't busy, empty tables and now I have 2 plates in front of me. I usually order a bottle of wine with dinner but I was so annoyed I ordered a glass of Malbec Reserve . There is a lot to like about this place. Close to the ferry. Happy hour at the bar for those who do that type of thin. Delicious food. Wasn't all that pleased with the chowder. Needed more cream flavor rather than all the fixings. Blacked swordfish was spot on. Wasn't dry, great flavor, and the vegetables went well. Had a bite of the fish and chips and was also good. Completely blown away by this restaurant. Very clean inside and out, and the staff were so polite and kind. My food was amazing we came here to try the crab deviled eggs, but we left here becoming big fans of the pineapple sriracha wings. The best sauce you could top a wing with. I had to update my review as I had my second visit to Matt's for a girls night out and it was just as wonderful as the first. We came in the evening around 6 so had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. We got seated and our server immediately came to our table with water. I asked for her recommendation for the best salad and she said the Lobster Cobb was the best so we went for it. It was fabulous!! It is a deconstructed salad so you can pick and choose your bites, but it had lots of lobster, egg, bacon, clue cheese, and pickled onions. For the cocktail we had the seasonal sangria which was a mango-blueberry and it was light and refreshing. And of course we had to try the Key Lime Pie and it was also excellent, a little bit of tartness and a nice thick crust. The ambience is always great although when it is busy it is very noisy so it can be a bit hard to hear each. I love this place and I know it will be one of the restertuants on my regular rotation. I am looking forward to cooler weather to try some of the more "cozy" items on the menu. Great meal, great service and nice ambiance so give it a try! read more

As you can see from my last review I was here for the very first time with my large family back in Christmas of 2025. At that time I enjoyed a good lunch with my family including their chicken pot pie. I returned here for a late lunch after getting off the Cape May Lewes ferry. I enjoyed my rum punch for $12. I also again tried their chicken pot pie for $21, although this time I thought the pot pie crust was over cooked and hard compared to when I enjoyed it during my first visit. Came here last year and decided to come back here again, since it's right across from where we are all staying. Got there at 5:30 and this is 8/18, a Monday and there was already a wait. Told the hostess with dirty blonde hair that was doubled braided with glasses that will be party of 6, but one of them will be a high chair. She said so 7 - it's like honey, I know how to count. Waited 30 minutes, we got the text and dark brunette with curly hair and dark brows said you can have this table, but can't put a high chair there. But if you want a high chair, it's going to be another 5-10 minutes. We said, we will wait and walked off and then couple of minutes later we got another alert that said they're only going to hold our table for just another 5 minutes before we lose our table. I am like what, so I went inside after my friend spoke to the dark brunette hostess and I said, we advised you we wanted to wait for the high chair table and you said it would be 5-10 minutes for a table that can have a high chair. But you still have us under the original table that cannot have a high chair due to the foot traffic. She's like I gave away that high chair table, because I wasn't aware you didn't want that table anymore. Like don't try to back pedal and say, we didn't want it when we said we will wait for it and mentioned we'll wait outside. So this hostess doesn't know how to do her job! Completely wasted our time for more than 40 minutes and didn't take accountability for her failing to remove us from the initial table and she also failed because why would we want a table that cannot have a high chair when we specifically mentioned we would need a high chair from the get? My wife, two sons (18 yrs, 20 yrs), and I stopped by Matt's Fish Camp Lewes for a Saturday dinner at 5pm in late December 2025. We did not have to wait for a table, but it got more crowded and busy at 6pm. This is now our "go-to" restaurant for winter off-season trips to Lewes. First, the service is excellent and attentive. Our waiter was happy to explain their daily catch items and the "Baltimore style" option (with fries and coleslaw) instead of the creamy risotto. Second, the seafood is delicious here. My older son and I very much enjoyed the grilled swordfish. My wife liked the fish and chips (with malt vinegar) and my younger son had the lobster roll. Third, it has a clean, upscale casual vibe with kid-friendly options. I assume this place has a long waiting time for dinner during the summer. Blackened swordfish special.. so dry and the serving was the size of a fork. Flank steak and parmesan fries were just disgusting. Hard, tasteless and gross. Something you pulled from your fridge 3 days ago and put in the microwave. We should have sent that back.. The beef stroganoff was the flank steak chopped up was even worse. We had 3 coctails total and the bill with the tip was a little over $200. Don't go there.. its truly disgusting. read more

His mother walked buy him and smacked his ass, when I ask if it was his mom, he said yes, so I told him it was inappropriate for something like that to happen in the work place, he brushed it off and thought it was funny. Third time back to a Matt's Fish Camp, off season here in Lewes/Rehoboth DE. Upon arrival, immediately taken to a waiting table in the back. Our server appeared within seconds to greet us and ask about drinks. We started with a the GL Abellio white wine for my wife and an Allegash White beer for me. Kicked off the meal sharing the mussels with sausage in a garlic white wine cream based sauce, very tasty and enjoyable way to start our dinner experience. Next course we shared the shrimp and grits with a side of dirty Brussels. Wow what terrific platting presentations and the flavor profiles were unique in their own way.
