It's lovely, especially if you eat outside -very European. I ordered the halibut and it just wasn't tasty. I had grits with it and I couldn't tell the difference sometimes because the grits were much more flavorful and the halibut was just white flakes. Next time I'll go for the old favorite the salmon I just have so much salmon at home. I wanted to have something different. I'll be happy when the butternut squash with duck comes back. Went back to Fish On the other night and it wasn't the best. We got there around 8 and it felt like the server didn't want any more tables in her section. (Really uncomfortable feeling). My cocktail, I really enjoyed- I believe it was some type of Grand Mariner Old Fashion. My appetizer was the fried broccoli but the peppers that came with it were just too hot for me. ( this dish repeated on me all night).. The entree I settled on was the pork chop with fried rice ( I asked if they could scramble the egg and fold it in - you should of seen the reaction I got, especially when I mention that another Sol Del restaurant does that for me. read more

I have mixed feelings about my dinner here last night. First off I will say the restraint is lovely, nice size and a beautiful outdoor dining area. The service was also excellent. The food was mixed, the fish and chips was excellent. We also had a caesar salad with grilled shrimp. The shrimp was excellent although I always hate when they leave the tails on. The dressing of the salad was a bit too lemony for my taste. My husband had the burger which was good but there was no lettuce and not much sauce and no tomato so rather plain. He put some of my lettuce with dressing on it and that made it better. We also had the bread and butter, which was good but would have preferred it warm. One late comment, we had a glass of rose and although the wine was very good it was a very small pour. So, based on all the other reviews I would definitely give it a try and make your own judgment. read more

Fantastic fish and chips along with southern style fried chicken! Would highly recommend the fish and chips for anyone unsure. Honestly, the fish fillet was the largest we've seen outside of London so this place is doing it right! They have a great oyster selection as well. Reasonably priced, too! Maple-glazed salmon was very good. The squash and shredded Brussels stacked under rather than on the side was a little unexpected, but it worked. An overall sweet profile. I was starving, and this place was recommended by the hotel staff - it did not disappoint. The restaurant is huge, and the staff are friendly and super helpful. I ordered a mussel appetizer to go, and it was delicious and perfectly sized as a meal. It came with a side of bread and another side of bread with butter. My sister is gluten sensitive and was happy to find flavored vodka seltzers on the menu. The server brought a basket of sourdough bread with a small scoop of delicious salt and peppered butter. What an unexpected and yummy twist! My husband ordered vegetable curry and loved it! Our server was attentive and our food was delivered timely despite the many guests crowding the dining room for dinner. Excellent happy hour options! Make sure to get there early for a spot! Dinners are great as well. They also have several large tables to accommodate larger groups. That isn't always easy to find especially in Lewes without prior planning. Been there several times and each was a good experience. Burgers are always spot on. Was getting a little bored of Fish On! But hadn't been there since Covid so w tried it again this past summer. Had a tuna dish last time we went. Very good! Our server was very friendly and attentive. We also sat outside on the patio. It was a wonderful experience sitting outside under the lights on a late summer evening when it wasn't too warm. Great breeze and comfortable space to eat. Michael was our server - great guy! We had to change our seats due to the sun burning our backs and they accommodated without hesitation. Ordered a few things to try - all delicious! Atlantic salmon - the star of the show. No wonder so many people order this. I'm not sure how they do it but cooked exceptionally well on the inside with a lovely seared crispy yet glazed crust. The quinoa was great with it and the sauce was divine. Shrimp and grits - I always love a good sauce with cheesy grits. Generous portion of shrimp. Wasn't a big fan of the chorizo as it was a bit hard. Baby Kale salad - SO good. The combination of feta cheese, strawberries and candied almonds works so well with the lemon vinaigrette. A very refreshing salad that greatly compliments your meal. Crab cakes - great shareable portion with yummy slaw. At this point, we had so much food, we had to stuff ourselves but it was good dish. Love the service, food and atmosphere here. The hostesses were sooooo nice and worked with us trying to get us a seat at the bar for Happy Hour, but we were hungry and couldn't hold off waiting. Food was ok, I ordered the wings extra crispy and they came out, ok...my friend ordered the raw oysters and enjoyed those. If you do not show up for happy hour, I don't think the food is worth the price. Our waitress, I cannot recall her name; but she was good in the beginning, but afterwards, it was as if we were forgotten. After she took our order, we didn't see her again until we had to flag her down for the check. We popped into Fish On! for dinner while on vacation. This place was great, and definitely a keeper. We started with an oyster assortment, and also had the soft shell crab dinner. The oysters were fresh, well shucked, and delicious. They had six different locations, ranging from nearby MD and VA locations to PEI and WA. The selection varies from night to night. The soft shell crab was amazing. It's served on a bed of couscous, tomato, arugula, and succatash, with a wjipped goat cheese dressing. It also has jalapeños in it, which were a 'surprise'. Tonight we shared the flash fried calamari which was so moist and tender with a delicious lemony mayo pickle dipping sauce and of course we are hooked on these crab cakes so had to have that as our main dishes - tonight I was enjoying the fingerling potatoes very moist and spiced to perfection! We once again loved our crab cakes! I ordered a cocktail - crimson and clover - a rye concoction that was smooth and tasty! And a very delicious locally made cinnamon ice cream for dessert Service as usual is excellent! Very friendly, attentive and efficient staff and food comes out quick, - fresh and delicious! The fish tacos were good- the fish was lightly breaded and delicate- yum! My friend liked the fish tacos more than I did...I thought they didn't have enough flavor, but still good. My mom enjoyed the grits and shrimp but not a fan of the cooked tomatoes and the chorizo was dried/hard. My friends Mom had the orecchiette pasta with scallops and she said it was fabulous! We were too full for dessert. Our waitress Sara suggested the 2019 Crowded House Sauvignon Blanc & it was delicious. A nice experience and environment. Overpriced. While the presentation of many dishes seems to be geared toward upscale cuisine, i was not fooled. You came dress up a box of macaroni as being home style but if you say bread crumbs when there is clearly a cracker in the mix. Blackened chicken? No. I've had blackened chicken and it should be very spicy. This wasn't. Huge portion doesn't mean quality; it was very indigestible like eating a lead anchor off a fishing charter. The server kept pushing drinks. I was fine with water. If i am thirsty for something i will order it. As far as overall experience this was mediocre. Fish On!? More like Fish Off!! Meh food combined with terrible service should serve as inspiration to reboot this nicely decorated restaurant. We were torn between this place and Matt's Fish Camp. Sadly, Matt's had a long wait so we trekked further down the road to Fish On, much to our chagrin. Everything initially came up roses when the sweet challah bread arrived at the table and was quickly devoured by a table of hungry mouths. However, the appetizers were inconsistent -- first round of calamari and pineapple wings were a hit -- the calamari was tasty but maybe a bit too oily and with too much crust. The second batch of wings lacked any glaze or sauce and missed entirely. At like $16/pop you don't want too many misses. For the main course, we took a swing at the double cheeseburger at $16 and it was another huge swing and a miss. Burgers were cooked well done (no other options offered), not seasoned well, and bland. The fried chicken is entirely mislabeled as everyone knows what fried chicken is and this wasn't it. Instead I received two juicy chicken breasts with a fried chicken-like breading. They tasted great but I can't say the same for the accompanying mashed potatoes which were flavorless and way too thick. The crab cakes were received more favorably although I felt as though they went too hard with the Old Bay seasoning. The green curry pasta thingy was also an epic miss. The biggest strike of all was the service. Our waitress was either new or in the wrong job. She seemed unhappy from the jump and was overhead complaining about us returning a cheeseburger ordered plain but served with cheese. Oddly, she complained to us that the cook screwed it up but then seemed to be annoyed with us for returning it. Generally she seemed like the type who enjoys complaining. She rarely if ever checked up on us, and we had to hire the corner seats as scouts to keep an eye out for her. It didn't matter. She walked past our table two dozen times making every effort to avoid eye contact with us, lest she be bothered to retrieve a refill. When we finally flagged her down, she repaid us by charging us for an additional coke. On the brighter side, management seemed responsive to our complaints and took some remedial actions to lessen our dissatisfaction. Still, it was too little, too late. We arrived late so we could get seats at the bar post happy hour, which is our preference ~ although service is great regardless of where you sit. Last night was no exception, I opted for the heirloom tomato and fresh mozzarella salad with a side of their yummy steamed shrimp and pork dumplings. The tomato salad was the best of summer- many varieties and all so flavorful, the vinegar dressing was light and accented the delicate tomato's, My date had a cup of the clam chowder which he thinks is the best ever and I agree, followed by the confit of chicken leg and thigh bbq sandwich with potato salad and coleslaw. The bbq was more of a vinegar base and as such light and just a bit of tang. The potato salad was very good as was the coleslaw. A few glasses of wine and a great evening overall. Swung by for a rehearsal dinner! They were not able to accommodate 20 people group the way we wanted. We had asked to be seated together on a single table but were separated. Besides that, everything else was enjoyable. I ordered the soft shell crab and it was amazing! It came with two small crabs over arugula and tomatoes. The dressing on the salad was amazing! They provided large cuts of tomatoes that were red, purple and yellow. It was so so delicious 10/10 My boyfriend ordered the lewes seafood stew and added pasta. It was absolutely delicious. It came with half a lobster tail, a few shrimps, mussels and clams. 10/10 The calamari were very good appetizer. It was well seasoned, but pretty standard for calamari. 8/10 The unfrose was highly recommended, but was just a frozen sangria-like drink.
