Its been a minute eh? Haven't gone out to dinner in a while but damned if I don't have a good one…read morefor ya. The Libation Room, a little speakeasy situated within summer house. Lets begin with the atmosphere because it was delightful. Its a small, intimate space where the spirit of a speakeasy shines through easily. The exposed ductwork, the classy yet eclectic decor, it is a delightful little space. Service was great. Fast, funny, and polite through the entire meal. We went for drinks and apps and I gotta say we will be coming back for dinner for sure me and my wife. How about the food and drink? Well, any of y'all who follow me know I'm not a huge drinker, but I did try the Oolong Hot Toddy and was extremely happy! Warm, the sochu and tea mix so well together, a nice garnish of candied ginger and lemon makes the presentation of this delightful little libation. (Ha, a pun!) Now, the food. Cheese board was great but, thats cheese anyone can assemble a cheese board. No, my credit goes to the crab dip and the calamari. Both dishes were done perfectly, not too greasy, beautifully crunchy calamari and supremely flavorful crab dip. Overall an easy 5, I'd rate 6 if I could.

Make reservations as this is a small space. Very comfortable seating. Lots of decor that again fits the space. Great music playing as well. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and then escorted back into the speakeasy which has its own door. Once inside, we were greeted and introduced to the two servers who worked together all evening. They were very attentive and friendly. They made the visit enjoyable. The menu lights up... literally. Super fun to pick from the numerous drink and food options. For a speakeasy, you will be surprised at how many different options there are. The prices are beyond reasonable for the craft cocktails and amazing food. Started off with cocktails (first round) - Veruca Salt (highly recommend due to its spicy foam & deliciousness), Purple Butterfly (yum), The Ultimate Dirty Martini (very pungent), and The Smoked Cherry (nice presentation/event - also tasty). All of these were delicious and made well. Second round was The Night Shift and a Brown Butter Old Fashioned and again, both delightful. Dessert round was Creme Brûlée Espresso Martini (highly recommend - great presentation with a small mallet that cracks the brûlée on top & absolutely amazing - this is a sweet drink so loom as a dessert option), Espresso Martini (hazelnut flavor and good), and a Carijilo. All items from the bar were super tasty and well made. This is a craft drink place and the quality and attention to details are spot on for the speakeasy vibe. Not only are the drinks superb, but the food is also very well made and very affordable. We started with the cheese tower which is a great option for a group to enjoy. We also ordered the calamari which came with the most delicious horseradish dipping sauce, and lamb lollipops (4 per order). All of this was delicious. Then, tried the seafood bisque, French onion soup, Pumpkin/Crab/Mushroom Soup, and Seared Sea Scallops. The soups were super filling and all had a terrific flavor profile. The scallops were served on risotto and this was great. Seriously, the food is amazing. Not what you normally would find in a speakeasy. They even had dessert options (we had drinks instead). This was a lovely experience. Just overall fantastic and a great surprise hidden in a beach town. For sure make reservations. If visiting for the week, just go ahead and pick two nights to visit so you can try all of the things. Well done. Looking forward to another visit.

Omg best pot pie ever! And a fantastic happy hour :)…read more My husband and I stopped in for a quick Christmas lunch while shopping in Rehoboth. He ordered the lobster pot pie and I had chicken white chili and a salad. Everything was amazing! We were super impressed with the chili and were trying to reconstruct the recipe as we ate. When I asked for my bill, Matt (bartender) asked if I wanted vanilla or chocolate sundae! I told him I didn't order one. He responded that it's part of the $20 Sunday Special. I asked to see the menu to add one or two toppings and he said you GET THEM ALL on the side! Ugh! I received it just to be polite and ate a little, not all. Hated to waste all those toppings but that's how it is served (see picture). Great food and service! Great to watch the games too at the long bar!

Now we know why it's tough to get a seat; this is quality dining that brings customers back again and again. Ben and Diane (mixologist/hostess respectively) have been the owners for two years. I can't make any judgement about the prior ownership but I can say the current owners have nailed it. It was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. We sat at the bar and from the outset Ben made us feel comfortable and he obviously appreciated us as customers. The cocktails were exceptionally prepared. It's obvious he is not merely a bartender and is proud of the special attention and customized twists given to some very traditional cocktails--Sazerac, Manhattan, cosmo. The cream based crab soup was hearty and the seasoning was well balanced. It was a great start. My partner had the fish special and I had the short ribs as entrees. Both were spectacular. Ben had told us that "if this were going to be your last meal, have the short ribs." It wasn't our last meal but his assessment was accurate. I can't recall having short ribs that just seem to melt in your mouth. We were going to defer on dessert but opted for a variation of a flourless chocolate cake with caramel topping. Served warm it was the perfect end to a perfect meal. It's obvious that Ben and Diane have assembled a team that is as committed to excellence as are the owners. We've already made reservations or our next visit. Can't wait!

We ordered several small plates and shared and eat dish was equally delicious. The service was good and we appreciated Cortland's recommendations. It's definitely not a large establishment so making a reservation would be recommended.

The place is so tiny my walk in closet is bigger. The sented candles were so overwhelming you probably thought thats what you were dining on the whole time. The table was so small it was laughable. The food has a mix of fruit in almost everything. Not for me thanks. And at $20.00 a pop for a drink , you would expect at least a normal size cocktail glass. I felt like my martini was a sampler rather than a cocktail. My wife didn't dare finish her tuna. It was chewy and actually smelled, "fishy!" So, hard pass for me but, if you like living on the edge, go for it. But remember, you've been warned! So, you didn't have sented candles, you had SOMETHING in there that was overwhelming! IT WASN'T FOOD. Sorry if I was rough but I call it like it is. And whats with the fancy water bottles with the city water in them? My fam grew up in the resturant industry. Best of the best. Guess I was to hungry by the time I got there. And your own weighter said to me that you had reservation problems that you just resolved. I tried for a MONTH to figure out how to get through, only to find out I had a choice of where to sit. Yikes. Best of luck.

The bar occasionally offers live music, but my favorite time to visit is during the holidays, when they turn it into a festive Christmas spot with holiday beverages. There are fun decorations, strands of lights, Home Alone 2 playing on the televisions, and much more to really get you in the holiday spirit. I most recently tried the Pomegranate Margarita on their seasonal menu and thought it was excellent; it was not too sweet or too weak. I should note that there are rarely servers in the lounge area, so you typically need to go up to the bar to place an order, which can disrupt the flow of fun you might be having. Overall, I think the 1927 Lounge is decent on a normal day, but much better when they have a themed takeover happening.

We weren't too sure what to expect from an hour long tour and tasting but it was well worth the small cost. The attention to detail in the decor and aestetic throughout the distillery paying homage to the prohibition is out of this world. We all left with "prescriptions" that were completed on a typewriter which was such a nice touch. We also loved how the tasting cards were formatted to be time cards as well, which we all picked up and punched on our way in and then punched again on our way out. Seacrets really went the extra mile to make a comprehensive experience out of their tour. To add to the experience, the tasting was delicious! My personal favorite was the lemon drop vodka - and that is coming from someone who does not enjoy drinking vodka. My second favorite was the Bourbon Whiskey which I enjoyed chilled. This was so smooth and absolutely delightful! Their seasonal pumpkin spiced rum and their seasonal coffee rum were both tied for third. With each of us getting 3 samples to try, hubby and I made sure to make different choices in order to try more options. 10/10 recommend signing up for one the tours, you will not be disappointed.
