The food, the drinks, the ambience, the service...all incredible! The Beef Wellington is a must try.

I had high hopes for this beautiful speakeasy in the town of Rehoboth Beach. It is a cute spot in the back of the Summerhouse Restaurant. I was excited to have had been able to get a reservation. When you walk in it's a pretty small speakeasy with tables on both sides of the room. It's dimly lit and has gold decorations weaved into the room. When you get your menus you assume they are regular ones...I was way wrong! the menus are like neon yellow when you open them which is a cool touch and for it being such a dark place it helps to see what the menu says. It has light built into the menu to give it that effect! Seating here is comfortable. They have a couch type seating and then on the other side it is comfortable chairs. The table I was sat at was a good size. A little on the smaller side. Our drinks were good. I had the FRENCH 75 Remy Martin Cognac, Champagne, Lemon and my friend I don't remember what he got. Both drinks were tasty and presented well! For food well with all my allergies it was Very slim pickings for me. I had ordered the potato skins but then a manager came over and told me it would be crossed contaminated so I opted not to take a risk. There were only 2 other choices I had that the waitress told me I could do and I opted not to eat anything. My friend had the SALMON TARTARE- lemon infused EVOO, chives, sea salt, & flying fish roe I think. He said it was very good and had alot of flavor. It comes in small bites. Service here was not the best, especially since it was not that crowded when we were there. We got the food before the drinks. Our waitress was nice and answered our questions we had. There was also a table next to us that it took them a while to clean off from the previous customers. So we had a dirty table next to us for most of our time there. Didn't bother me that much but was just observing. This will probably be a one and done place I go to. I went once checked it out and don't think I need to go back unless I take a friend to town.

The Libation Room is a fun Speakeasy located behind the Summer House in Rehoboth Beach DE. Summer House is a popular casual restaurant so the contrast is huge when you find the cool Speakeasy space. I've never been to Rehoboth before. It's a fun resort beach community. I don't know the story behind the Libation Room, but whoever owns Summer House created a beautiful space that feels like it could be in any fabulous city in the world. They definitely knew what they were doing to create an elevated cocktail experience. The second you walk in the door after walking through the beachy casual Summer House, you feel you could be in London or New York or Chicago. The cocktail program is solid and the staff are well-trained. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was the amazing wood burning smell. They have a signature recipe called the Smoked Cherry. You can see in the photos they do a great job infusing the old fashioned style cocktail with cherry wood. The recipe is Bourbon, Sage Simple Syrup, Maraschino liqueur and Cherry bitters. It was delicious and came with quite a show when they serve it table side. All of the cocktails we had were fantastic. I highly recommend finding the Libation Room if you're ever in Rehoboth. It is a legit cocktail experience in a beautiful space. Salute

This is such a hidden gem in downtown Rehoboth! You can get in through the entrance of the main restaurant in the front, Summer House, but there's also a separate entrance in the back- it's so nondescript you'd easily miss it if you weren't looking for it, but definitely captures that speakeasy vibe. The ambiance inside is really nice- it feels dark and cozy, with lots of flickering candles and low light. The menus light up, which I've never seen anywhere else and thought was so cool- it's a great way to solve the problem of keeping it dark inside without people having to whip out their cell phones for light to read the menus. We enjoyed our cocktails but thought the food was more of a standout. I started with the lobster and corn empanadas- it came with two empanadas that were really tasty and came with a great spicy cream sauce. The table next to us got the Brie fondue and it looked incredible! For my main course, I had the pumpkin crab bisque and the honeycrisp spinach salad. The soup was excellent, it had a good amount of crab and the flavors went really nicely together. The salad was one of my favorites I've had in a long time- I hate when a goat cheese salad only has one small piece of goat cheese, this came with a whole centerpiece of goat cheese wrapped in puff pastry! It was the perfect balance of salty, sweet, creamy, crunchy, and acidic. My husband got the Beef wellington which was also excellent. We had to try the Jack Tarr potatoes, which come as a side to many of the seafood dishes, and those were absolutely delicious- they were creamy and cheesy and so decadent. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely come back!

definitely a really cute speakeasy. That's not obvious. It's a great more quiet place to take a date and get away from the bustling environment of the Rehoboth beach area. The finger foods are OK nothing overly spectacular and the people are very nice.

This is a speakeasy which was thrilling to get a table at but I felt like there was not much more to offer than a different menu and a dark room with a few tables. Our drinks were good but mine was very very sweet. It was my boyfriend and i's anniversary so it was a nice place to end the night at. I probably would next time order food off this menu as it looked very delicious.

After reading some of the poor reviews from this place I wasn't expecting much. They commented that the drinks and food were great, but something minuscule was an issue. I can't attest to the food because my partner and I came in for drinks. The drinks were phenomenal. And the service was fantastic. The ambiance was definitely something I look for in a speakeasy. Something fairly quiet, where you can actually hear the person across from you and the soft music being played. You can hear other people talking but, at least when we were there, no one was yelling across the bar. I could hear our conversations. They also accommodated us not having a reservation which was greatly appreciated. The only reason for the 4 stars was that I didn't have the food. Upon looking around at other table the food looked amazing. All if the drinks were very well balanced. Will definitely be back.

The ambiance adds something fresh and new to downtown Rehoboth! The servers were very accomodating to our party. You must make a reservation and you can do that through opentable, which makes it easy. We originally were going just to get drinks but then kept ordering apps and desserts from the menu because everything sounded amazing! And, it was!! We will definitely be back!

I only had the one I paid for. There's no need to lie, bad days happen. This is not a speakeasy, this is a restaurant cosplaying as a speakeasy. That may be a bit harsh, it's a speakeasy in training. Sure, it's got all of the speakeasy decor, blackout curtains over the windows and doors, and a big selection of pedestrian liquor but it's not quite there. We went in on an early evening on Wed and there were maybe 5 other patrons in there. Our waitress was nice and brought us water to the high top. She brought us two food menus, and a specials menu. I asked for a bourbon list and she brought it; no prices on the list. Annoying. On the specials menu there was a small section of manager recommended drinks and one was a Willet. The way it was written was confusing because it said it was both a 4 year and 14 year for $52, so I asked for clarification on the age statement. She took the menu to the barkeep, who confirmed it was a 14 year so I said yes I'll have that. A drink was brought to me, but I could tell from the taste that it was not what I ordered. I asked the waitress for the bottle, she asked the guy behind the bar for the bottle and he pulled down a willet pot still bottle (pot still is the entry level Willet and at best a 5 dollar pour, no where near what I asked for). I told her that I was given the wrong drink, then she approached the bar and between her, and the male and female bartenders they had a weird back and forth conversation. Then, finally they pulled down the bottle that I asked for, that was advertised, and gave me a pour of it. I asked to see the bottle and the waitress brought it over but held it instead of putting it on the table (it was a 13 year Willet, Paper Trail). As we were about to order we were told that they reset the menu the very day before, with the focus of putting more love and care into the food. Feeling good about that, we ordered the French quarter catfish and the bourbon braised short ribs. The corn that came with the short ribs tasted straight out of a store bought steamable pouch, and the "ribs" weren't ribs at all, just sliced meat. The only redeemable thing about the catfish dish was the aioli; the rice had no flavor, the corn was cold and hard, and the catfish was mostly breading. We both took a few bites and resigned. I have been to many speakeasies around the US, and there are common themes: a much better selection of liquor; 95% of the bourbon were low tier bottles you can find in any liquor store for around $50. Also, when customers ask for the bottle, it isn't because we plan to steal it or drink from it, its because we're genuinely interested in the information on the labels. The quickest way to get people to stop spending money is to make them feel as if they can't be trusted touching a bottle. Perhaps it was an off day for the staff and this wasn't a typical experience, but I won't go back.

The bar occasionally offers live music, but my favorite time to visit is during the holidays, when they turn it into a festive Christmas spot with holiday beverages. There are fun decorations, strands of lights, Home Alone 2 playing on the televisions, and much more to really get you in the holiday spirit. I most recently tried the Pomegranate Margarita on their seasonal menu and thought it was excellent; it was not too sweet or too weak. I should note that there are rarely servers in the lounge area, so you typically need to go up to the bar to place an order, which can disrupt the flow of fun you might be having. Overall, I think the 1927 Lounge is decent on a normal day, but much better when they have a themed takeover happening.

While making the reservation I secretly noted that it was husband's birthday weekend. The tour was $15 a person all well worth it! We arrived a few minutes before the tour started and we're greeted by Jeff. From our first meeting through the end of the tour he was AMAZING. He acknowledged my husband's birthday and even had a little birthday cake emoji printed next to his name on his "employee punch card". Through small talk we learned we had a ton in common. He was VERY knowledgeable while giving the tour and had answers to all of our questions and about most of the antiques on the property. The tasting at the end takes place in a speakeasy where you actually have to call on a phone booth phone and obtain the code to get in the secret doors. It was so funny and cool. The other guy working who answered the phone and talked to us before the tour was Richie. He was great too! There was only one other couple signed up for our tour time so it wasn't over crowded even though they max out tours at 16 persons. I was pleasantly surprised how detailed the tour was and how full of memorabilia and antiques the distillery was. A ton of thought and love went into building it. There is no way you won't love it! We were provided some unexpected souvenirs throughout the tour such as the employee punch card, a personalized "prescription" and a sticker. Jeff also offered to take a picture of each couple in the speakeasy. Overall I have told so many friends and other people we have encountered about it. I will continue to spread the word and highly recommend you go for a tour! We weren't too sure what to expect from an hour long tour and tasting but it was well worth the small cost. The attention to detail in the decor and aestetic throughout the distillery paying homage to the prohibition is out of this world. We all left with "prescriptions" that were completed on a typewriter which was such a nice touch. We also loved how the tasting cards were formatted to be time cards as well, which we all picked up and punched on our way in and then punched again on our way out. Seacrets really went the extra mile to make a comprehensive experience out of their tour. To add to the experience, the tasting was delicious! My personal favorite was the lemon drop vodka - and that is coming from someone who does not enjoy drinking vodka. My second favorite was the Bourbon Whiskey which I enjoyed chilled. This was so smooth and absolutely delightful! Their seasonal pumpkin spiced rum and their seasonal coffee rum were both tied for third. With each of us getting 3 samples to try, hubby and I made sure to make different choices in order to try more options. 10/10 recommend signing up for one the tours, you will not be disappointed.
