We came to Blue Moon this weekend on a recommendation from a friend. We originally had plans to eat at another place but it was unexpectedly closed. We easily gott a Blue Moon reservation about 90 min before we arrived. We arrived about 15 min early and they were able to accommodate us and seat us at that time. We were seated on the porch which I thought would be fun to people watch (of course it never stopped pouring so there wasn't much to watch). The table itself was very bizarro. It was 2 tables pushed together and could seat 4-5 people even tho there were only of us. Our second table was only about 4" from the next party. I was trapped into my seat with no way to get out unless a server would move the table for me. Luckily I did not have to use the bathroom. When I inquired about the odd set up the server told me I could use the other table to put any plates I wanted on there. We ordered the fried green tomatoes which we enjoyed. I got the lobster risotto - it was very good. It was not what I expected. The risotto was buttery instead of creamy but it still tasted good. My bf ate the lamb chops which he enjoyed. We both loved the bread and butter - which was flavored w honey and parsley. One thing that was strange - there was a walkway with a shelf behind my bf's seat. The servers kept reaching over my bf's shoulder to bring things to the table instead of walking the 3 extra steps to stand table side. While we were eating I could hear singing coming from the lounge. After we were done we headed into that lounge. And we had the most enjoyable show!! Autumn Schneider performed an hour long show singing numbers from Broadway shows and telling us about her history performing Broadway. She was extraordinary and we wished we had moved in sooner to see the start of her show. She is a real talent and I give her 5 stars! Will def be back this summer to see her!

Great experience! The food was delicious and service was attentive and quick. Ambiance was lovely, not too loud. The restaurant had a show going on but we were seated in the separate main dining area so if the show is not your thing and you prefer a more intimate setting you can choose the quiet area. I highly recommend getting the fried green tomatoes, whether as a starter by itself or as a side as part of the vegetarian entree.

OMG... this place is fabulous. Service, atmosphere, food. We will be back to try other menu items

Enjoyed the Tasting Tuesday menu consisting of a 3 course menu paired with wines for only $49. The fried green tomatoes were outstanding. Enjoyed the stuffed shrimp too. The dessert was a mango cheesecake. Enjoyed the wines selected by the server. She was very nice and attentive too! Sat by window, so nice atmosphere!

If you're looking for great food & great ambience, this is the place for you. On the food side, we started with the roasted oysters appetizer. It was absolutely amazing. So flavorful! For my entree, I had the shrimp stuffed with crabmeat. Wonderfully rich & so tasty. With asparagus included as a side. For my husband's entree, he had the short rib stroganoff. Delicious as well--I had several bites. We loved the setting as well. The restaurant is located in a grand old house that has class written all over it. We also appreciated that the tables weren't crammed together but were spaced out so we weren't too close to other people. Service was excellent as well. Our waitress was very attentive & very pleasant.

Celebrating our wedding anniversary was such a great experience at the. Blue Moon! We sat in the "front porch" at a table in front of a window; such a cozy setting! Our server, Jessica, was wonderful and helped us narrow down our choices from the delicious menu; her service, personality and humor were wonderful! The food was amazing. The fried green tomato appetizer was confirmed by Jessica as one of the most popular and it was terrific: crispy perfect outside, firm and tasty tomato inside with the savory flavor of the herbed cheese and sweet tender onion jam all coming together beautifully. The stuffed shrimp entree was cooked perfectly with lots of crab stuffing, the creamiest whipped potatoes and smooth beurre blanc, finished with lovely firm asparagus spears. We were so full, but couldn't resist dessert after finding everything else so delicious...so the strawberry tart was fantastic! The berries were sweet and firm, the pastry base was just thick enough to provide structure and had a lovely vanilla flavor, with super smooth sweet creamy custard inside. I live in Virginia and hadn't been to Rehoboth for 40 years, but the Blue Moon will bring me back again after that meal! (We also met a couple at an adjacent table who have been coming to this restaurant every year for over 30 years...they live in Texas!) Thank you Blue Moon for a very memorable dinner!

Make reservations!!! Try to get the main dining room- it's a bit quieter than the back room, which gets sone energy from the bar and/or the drag show. The service? Excellent. Bright friendly. Knowledgeable servers every time! The food? Amazing. Truly. Literally everything we've gotten both main courses and sides of been amazing. My partner had the duck breast which was excellent and succulent. I had the chicken pot pie survey because the server thought it was particularly good. And it was great, and hearty. our apps were excellent crawfish egg rolls; the fried green tomatoes were perfectly cooked- not too soft, not too hard! Prices are 20% above the beach average and worth every penny- especially when compared to that seafood restaurant on Rehoboth Avenue.... :)

Relaxed evening spot in downtown Rehoboth with a welcoming vibe. We happened to arrive during a live music performance, which was a lovely surprise. We came to Blue Moon with one thing in mind: the Bombe! A local favorite for 40 years, this monster ice cream layer cake is worth the $20 for the quality ice cream, meringue and chocolate (and the experience!) The dessert coffees were a miss, however. Tasted more like a haphazard mixture of syrups than a soothing coffee to close out a meal. Overall, Blue Moon gets a solid 4/5 for its dessert menu!

I asked AI what restaurants were open for Sunday dinner within .75 miles of the Avenue Inn hotel. It listed 4 including this one. What a find! Thank you AI. We had a delicious meal with some great Sunday specials - a $29 filet mignon dinner and a $29 bottle of wine! We even shared a salad (surprisingly tasty, even for someone who isn't a salad fan!). My husband raved about the seafood pasta, calling it one of the best dishes he's ever had. Top it all off with wonderful and informative service from our waitress Kat, and this place is a definite must-do on our trip to Rehoboth next year!

My only regret from my visit to Blue Moon was not taking a representative picture of the food. Came across that Tuesday night is bingo with Sister Dot at 8 PM. Free with food purchase. Winners get entered into a gift card raffle at the end of the month (do not need to be present). 10/10. I'm not sure if they always have this but there was a Tuesday tasting menu. $49 for 3 courses plus wine pairings. Yes, absolute killer deal. First course I had the salmon tartar. Really fresh and nice balance of flavors. Second course I had the scallops over corn cooked in bacon (not sure if there is a better name for it). THIS WAS THE BEST DISH I HAD DURING MY 5 DAYS IN REHOBOTH. Scallops cooked perfectly and that corn. Tariq, the viral corn kid, would have been singing praise - so good I considered going back a second time but they are closed on Wednesdays. Then had Crème Brûlée for dessert. Honestly, just okay. I like my brûlée a little crunchier. Overall, excellent food and great service. I would definitely come back on a future visit to Rehoboth.

A beautifully presented plate of lamb with the ratatouille underneath. I might have been tempted to lick the plate.

This is a pretty easy review, haha. All you need to know off the bat is delicious. The service was impeccable, our waiter was funny, he was engaging, and he was attentive. He chatted just the right amount to be fun and funny, but not so much that he was a pest, and we were super happy with Ellio! (Thank you Ellio!!) The ambiance was spectacular its inviting when you first walk in. The atmosphere is a warm and welcoming place, pass through the bar (also a cool space) into some more intimate dining areas. You can hear each other speak, you can enjoy your meal, just all around a great ambiance! The photos and awards on the wall only adds to the experience. Finally the food, the best for last right? The only disappointment was that there wasn't more lamb on my plate but the ratatouille made up for it easily. My wife got the truffle Mac and cheese and adored it, everything was cooked to perfect temperature and generally amazingly done. Well done, well played, we will be back. 5/5, well deserved.

Now we know why it's tough to get a seat; this is quality dining that brings customers back again and again. Ben and Diane (mixologist/hostess respectively) have been the owners for two years. I can't make any judgement about the prior ownership but I can say the current owners have nailed it. It was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. We sat at the bar and from the outset Ben made us feel comfortable and he obviously appreciated us as customers. The cocktails were exceptionally prepared. It's obvious he is not merely a bartender and is proud of the special attention and customized twists given to some very traditional cocktails--Sazerac, Manhattan, cosmo. The cream based crab soup was hearty and the seasoning was well balanced. It was a great start. My partner had the fish special and I had the short ribs as entrees. Both were spectacular. Ben had told us that "if this were going to be your last meal, have the short ribs." It wasn't our last meal but his assessment was accurate. I can't recall having short ribs that just seem to melt in your mouth. We were going to defer on dessert but opted for a variation of a flourless chocolate cake with caramel topping. Served warm it was the perfect end to a perfect meal. It's obvious that Ben and Diane have assembled a team that is as committed to excellence as are the owners. We've already made reservations or our next visit. Can't wait!

Well, any of y'all who follow me know I'm not a huge drinker, but I did try the Oolong Hot Toddy and was extremely happy! Warm, the sochu and tea mix so well together, a nice garnish of candied ginger and lemon makes the presentation of this delightful little libation. (Ha, a pun!) Now, the food. Cheese board was great but, thats cheese anyone can assemble a cheese board. No, my credit goes to the crab dip and the calamari. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and then escorted back into the speakeasy which has its own door. Once inside, we were greeted and introduced to the two servers who worked together all evening. They were very attentive and friendly. They made the visit enjoyable. The menu lights up... literally. Super fun to pick from the numerous drink and food options. For a speakeasy, you will be surprised at how many different options there are. The prices are beyond reasonable for the craft cocktails and amazing food. Started off with cocktails (first round) - Veruca Salt (highly recommend due to its spicy foam & deliciousness), Purple Butterfly (yum), The Ultimate Dirty Martini (very pungent), and The Smoked Cherry (nice presentation/event - also tasty). All of these were delicious and made well. Second round was The Night Shift and a Brown Butter Old Fashioned and again, both delightful. Dessert round was Creme Brûlée Espresso Martini (highly recommend - great presentation with a small mallet that cracks the brûlée on top & absolutely amazing - this is a sweet drink so loom as a dessert option), Espresso Martini (hazelnut flavor and good), and a Carijilo. All items from the bar were super tasty and well made. This is a craft drink place and the quality and attention to details are spot on for the speakeasy vibe. Not only are the drinks superb, but the food is also very well made and very affordable. We started with the cheese tower which is a great option for a group to enjoy. We also ordered the calamari which came with the most delicious horseradish dipping sauce, and lamb lollipops (4 per order). All of this was delicious. Then, tried the seafood bisque, French onion soup, Pumpkin/Crab/Mushroom Soup, and Seared Sea Scallops. The soups were super filling and all had a terrific flavor profile. The scallops were served on risotto and this was great. Seriously, the food is amazing. Not what you normally would find in a speakeasy. They even had dessert options (we had drinks instead). This was a lovely experience. Just overall fantastic and a great surprise hidden in a beach town. For sure make reservations. If visiting for the week, just go ahead and pick two nights to visit so you can try all of the things. Well done. Looking forward to another visit.

Thereafter, the food on the "Asian Fusion" menu sounds great, but leaves much to be desired. More confusion, than fusion. Dumpling Special is a cool notion (why not save a few bucks?). But, when it arrives without ginseng slivers, nor a spoon for dripping the dark vinegar into the removed top knot to mix with the beef soup within the Xiao Long Bau, it becomes apparent skill is lacking in the kitchen. It doesn't help that these dough pouches are commercially bought and not made by knowing hands. The Singapore Black Pepper Crab bowl was sure Szechuan spicy enough, but had so little crab that my crustacean loving wife turned on her phone flashlight to find some. They were ground so small that they were nearly invisible, but could be slightly tasted by their mild sweetness. Just not enough substance to balance the other ingredients. My Cumin Lamb Ho Fun was likewise deep into the heat and looked good with the fat noodles mixed throughout. However, once again the kitchen's lack of deftness appeared with too many tough, stringy and fatty pieces of lamb that were unpleasant and overbore the generally decent quality of the rest of the dish. From my experience, that only happens when attention isn't paid to the texture of the meat when slicing. Cutting lamb against the grain is a no-no. So, even though I enjoyed the Moon Door entrance, the Bodhi (Enlightenment) name and all the on point Asian decor, it was disappointing that all that spirituality stopped at the kitchen door. 2.5 Shakyamuni-less Stars.
