We tried this restaurant on a September weeknight which was right near our hotel. It was simply excellent. They had a special which offered 1/2 price off the second pasta dish. We had the 1/2 portion Bolognese and Lobster pasta dishes. Fantastic. The broccolini was very good too. The full version of the pasta dishes were big so you may want to consider avoiding appetizers if you order them. The atmosphere in this restaurant is very pristine , warm and inviting. The service was perfect and highly professional. The main dining room can get noisy with a full crowd. They do offer reservations through Open Table with no deposit required. There was no off street parking so it may be a challenge to park nearby during the Summer months. We will definitely be back here for dinner when in Rehoboth Beach. read more

Our family decided to try a few new places this year during our annual week-long getaway to Rehoboth this year, and Sazio came highly recommended. We made a reservation about two weeks in advance, and were promptly seated when we arrived. Wendy was our server, and she was absolutely awesome. The atmosphere and vibe was great, and while it was crowded the arrangement of our table made it easy to chat and connect. The cocktail menu was impressive, and Wendy was great with a recommendation. I had the chicken parmesan, which was also a recommendation, and what a feast it was. Next time, we are going to try dessert as well, but what a fabulous place and an awesome meal. Ugh I just love Sazio so much. I wish I had something like this closer to me!! Vibes, service and food are always on point. We absolutely love their chicken parm which comes with a massive piece of perfectly pounded thin and crispy chicken. Pro tip is to sub the side of pasta in red sauce for a side of pasta in pink sauce. My daughter loves this with their gemelli! We also loved the tortellini in pink sauce which came with lots of peas and prosciutto. The truffle cacio e pepe asparagus on special was divine and was basically like asparagus in a creamy cheese fondue. The bruschetta app is also a must get and I love how they melt cheesy pesto on top of the toast. They have a full bar and we absolutely loved the clementine spritz. Arrived just before 5 PM on a Tuesday and there was already a line forming, always a good sign! We didn't have reservations, but many around us did, so plan ahead if you're coming during peak hours. We asked to be seated at a high-top table and the service was fantastic from start to finish. Happy hour is only available at the bar and high top tables. We started with the mozzarella sticks, and I was genuinely impressed by the red sauce, bright, flavorful, and clearly house-made. Then came the pasta tasting with meat sauce, which was hearty enough to be a full meal after sharing the appetizer. We also tried the risotto balls, massive and delicious, with a crispy exterior and creamy center. As if we hadn't indulged enough, we went for the Neapolitan pizza. The sauce and fresh mozzarella were excellent, but the dough was underdone and a bit too chewy for our taste. That was the only miss of the night. Phenomenal food! We searched for "Italian food," and this restaurant stood out with great reviews. Even though it was out of the way, I decided to make the drive and I'm so glad I did. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. They were also running a promotion where proceeds from our order were donated to the YMCA, which was a wonderful bonus. Everything we ate was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back. We went here on a Wednesday night, and the place was bustling. The service was just outstanding from the hostess to the server. Everyone was really nice and attentive and made great recommendations. I had the crab pasta and it was really good man I ate the whole thing. My daughter ordered vodka rigatoni and added chicken to it, and it was a lot of food and it was tasty. Fried mozzarella was great, garlic bread was great, sauce was extraordinary!! Tiramisu was also extraordinary! Entrees could have been better. Veal parm was not very good. Veal was somewhat rubbery. Chicken parm was so so as well. I had the lasagna. My sense is we would return for the service and for the appetizers or try different entrees. Horrible experience at Sazio tonight. I had made a reservation for 3 people by phone earlier in the week, on their computer AI system for dinner tonight outside at 5:15 pm. Their voice system said that the only outdoor reservations were available at 5:15 or 8:30 pm. I chose the odd time of 5:15 there because their reservation system caused us to choose 5:15. to be able to eat outside. We arrived at 5pm. The hostess said their system only showed an inside reservation for 5:15 and that notes may be in the system but did not add the outdoor request even though their voice reservation system on the phone, confirmed the outdoor reservation. I asked for the manager who came downstairs but was completely unhelpful and kept repeating that she had no control over the computer system and offered no solution but to send us across the street to Stingray. Finally, I asked for a partial discount on the meals at Sazio, which she agreed to. We found a remedy. The manager did not. Would not recommend a place with this attitude. This whole experience resulted in our not having an enjoyable meal. read more

This restaurant has become a must do on our trips to Rehoboth. This week's visit was as usual top notch. We always come for the Italian Birthday Cake and our lovely waiter,Luke, told us that they were running low. I was bereft as it was for my husband's birthday. Out of the blue, a young woman appeared at our table to discuss the cake situation. She was the intrepid manager,Hope--a more hospitable,hospitality worker does not exist. She mentioned several alternatives and then offered us whatever was left of the Italian Birthday cake in their kitchen. First time visiting and not impressed at all for a higher end Italian Restaurant. We decided to sit at the bar and get some appetizers and dinner. The bar tender was not inviting or friendly whatsoever. We ordered a bottle of wine and the meatballs to start. The meatballs arrived pretty much room temperature but had good flavor. We then ordered a flatbread and it was delicious. My wife and I then ordered the lobster risotto which was ok. The risotto was undercooked and very heavy on the garlic. Overall it was ok. The entire time our bartender/server was not attentive to us at all. Again not the service I would expect from a higher end restaurant whatsoever. If I was at a dive bar it would have been somewhat expected. After we finished we sat at least 15 minutes before our bartender/server came to ask us how we were doing? Our wine glasses and bottle had been empty the entire time our glasses of water empty. Just overall service unacceptable and food mediocre at best other than the flatbread which was great. read more

The food, the staff, the ambiance were all simply wonderful. My wife had the asparagus soup and the arancini. I had the pappardelle with bolognese sauce. All three were outstanding. The marinara sauce was as good as anything my grandmother ever doled out at Sunday dinner. The portions were quite generous and the prices were more than fair, making this not only a great dining experience, but an outstanding dining value. Sazio served good quality food while owned by the Big Fish company, but now that the Atlas Group have bought them out their restaurants have hit rock bottom. I ordered eggplant parm from Sazio and it was horrible. It was stacked, but only the top piece was breaded. The pieces below it were not breaded and tasted like rubber!! Sad to see them go downhill so quickly but friends / neighbors are noticing the same trend with their other restaurants here in Rehoboth (Stingrays, Salt Air, Big Fish, and now Sazio. read more

My family loves Sazio! We went with a large party and they were very accommodating. We got sat in front of the pizza oven but they helped us shift our table so it wouldn't be so loud/hot. The crudite at the start of the meal is a lovely touch. We all enjoyed pasta and salad, and my parents tell me the pizza is excellent. It's very "Italian summer" vibes with beautiful design/decoration. My partner and I sat at the bar for happy hour a couple weeks later and enjoyed tortellini for $11 and a new stuffed pepper dish that were both amazing!! read more

Down, down and down. That is the quality of the food at Sazio. Last week we "enjoyed" the second lousy meal in two consecutive visits. My wife and I are done. My son dined there with friends and had a similarly bad experience. What was it? The veal. Veal marsala. The veal was (again) gummy, flabby, fatty and bland and there's just no excuse for that. Everything else was pretty good, but that doesn't really matter. And this: I was celebrating my birthday and they delivered a small container of whipped cream and a candle. I kid you not. We then had the chicken parm and eggplant Milanese. Portions were absurdly large. The chicken was fine - nothing exceptional. The eggplant was topped with another wilted salad. Three large pieces of 1/3 inch flat eggplant with another wilted salad on top. The eggplant coating was near burnt and the interior watery. Totally unappealing. A vast amount of roasted potatoes were underneath - just a confusing presentation. I had two bites and that was all I could muster. So disappointing. read more

If you're looking for basic and bland, this is the spot for you. I was extremely underwhelmed by the food from the raw veggies and dip to my entree. The other guests that I was with were not impressed either. Our Italian bread loaf was stale and was served with a minimal serving of butter-- barely even filled to the halfway point. Granted, they did provide more when we asked. Our drinks were totally different even though we asked for the same drink: the pink lady. We had them sent back: they did provide us with Proseccos as replacements. Our friends had the mussels which they stated was mediocre at best with a simple tomato sauce and a slice of bread for dipping. They mentioned it would have been nice to have more sauce. I had the Shrimp Fra Diavolo-- the first time it came out, it was luke warm. The manager came and the dish was remade-- I could see steam this time-- hooray. Came here for dinner tonight as I was intrigued that online they had a special menu for people with food allergies: Gluten, fish and nuts. I was excited to try this new to me spot. When we got there we got the menus and I did not see the allergen friendly menu. I have alot of food allergies. But I ordered the chicken Milanese which they could not do as the fried part would interfere with the fish and seafood they had which is fine. They were very nice about it and I got a grilled chicken with potatoes and arugula salad. The potatoes were delicious and chicken was good too. The not so great part about our visit was a few things. Our drink the pink lady tasted like sour lemons and they were like half a cocktail. We then proceeded to order a glass of Prosecco and that too had a weird aftertaste. It took a bit of time to get our drinks too. My friends pasta came out cold the first time and so she sent it back and it came out hot the second go around. But she said that it still was not that tasty. Our bread we got for the table the baguette tasted a tad stale. And we got very little butter with it. It. It was not regular butter but it seemed to have some garlic or something in it. All in all, not a great first impression of this restaurant. read more

Six of us went here for a big birthday celebration. Sadly the overall stars given to this restaurant don't speak to the experience we had. Our meals were rushed, the main course of eggplant parmesan, my wife said, was bland and did not taste fresh, not breaded, undercooked and missing the marinara sauce. The Rigatoni was overcooked, and very spicy which was not noted in the menu. Although our waitress apologized, what could she do if the kitchen is putting out subpar foods, you'd think management would've paid our table a visit, but no. The tiramisu lacked espresso powder and the bombolinis were undercooked as well, the dough was still cold on the inside as if the oil wasn't hot enough. Unfortunately the experience was not a good one, and our celebration was hampered by the food Sazio delivered. We returned on New Year's Day this year since last year was so yummy! I was so looking forward to our evening. We were both in the mood for pasta. Both of us decided on the Bolognese after the Antipasto Salad. It wasn't mentioned to us that pasta was half price. That was actually nice surprise. I was surprised when our meals arrived because it did not appear to be Bolognese. It was quite "soupy." We decided it still had to be delicious but unfortunately this time we're disappointed that there wasn't much taste to our dishes. After eating little, we took the rest with us and called it an evening. I'm not sure why we took the balance of our meals home, I knew neither of us would eat them. Sazio is our go to place when we want good food with a great atmosphere. Tonight however we were disappointed. Have never had a bad meal until today. I ordered my usual, eggplant parm, which is usually amazing. tonight it was mushy, cold and the portion was smaller than usual. I also ordered the "special" lobster bisque soup which was cold and the lobster tasted odd. We usually head there for our monthly girls night out but all were disappointed. The mozpzarella sticks which are usually amazing were also cold. Hoping that this is just a result of being off season in this resort town. Also, we felt rushed with the dinner, with servers, and others clearing and attempting to clear our plates and cleaning off the table while we were clearly still eating. I gave a 4 star because on the regular it is but tonight it was only a 2 star. So sad read more

Made a reservation for 5 at 5:15 at the last minute and they were able to accommodate us. Our server Judy was fantastic in suggesting appetizers as well as specials. The food came out fairly fast, which was excellent. The service from the wait staff is above average in what you receive from the local restaurants. I love this place! I believe it is a must-stop if you are in the area. Happy hour rocks- if you can grab a seat in the bear area! They have deal on drinks, and food. Highly highly recommend a reservation if you come in for dinner, they are always packed! That being said, their menu does change from time to time so make sure you call ahead to see, or check online. I have never had a bad meal here, so you can't go wrong imo! Parking is a minimum, but if you know the area you are already aware. I would drive past the restaurant and maybe .1/.2 miles ahead are a good amount of spots but you may have to walk a ways in the summer! read more

With Spaghetti I wanted the sauce to cover the noodle and not run off, but the dish was filled with seafood and that made up for it. My wife had crab filled ravioli that was inundated with olive oil. the seasoned oil destroyed the flavor of the ravioli, so a major bust on that dish. Chicken Parm was fine. read more

Haven't been to Sazio in a while - it's so hard to get in during summer and fall - so we were so glad to get back. We had reservations however upon arrival there was room at the bar for HH and we seized the opportunity! The HH menu was all new and I was attracted to the Eggplant stack while my partner was zeroing in on the famous Chicken Parm. Jessica - our favorite bartender from another local spot was behind the bar and encouraged our choices so the decision was easy . The eggplant stack was amazing- I mean really....as was his chicken parmigiana. Service was flawless as always and with a cool breeze coming in from the door we really appreciated the heated bar. We are never too late for #ThankYouThursday and we are very thankful for Jessica. She always takes such great care of us wherever she is working , and is always a friendly smiling face. She's a great creative bartender, but also an honest food critique and an amazing human being. In this small Local community ~ especially when the tourists leave, we are very appreciative of our core people and restaurants. Sazio is amazing- such good food, but more so a local friendly spot where you can enjoy a chill night with a group of friends. We were very dissapointed in the food in general. Although the appatizers were much better than the entrees. The risotto balls were great with flavors that stood out but also worked excellent together, The large meatball app was good but nothing special. If you are going to offer a single meatball as an app it better be something special. The three pastas we had were all bland lacked imagination and execution. Perhaps the kitchen was anxious to get home. We arriuved for our fine dining experience at 9 pm and were out the door by 10. My cocktail came right before my appetizer.... no time to sip it, it was the pepericini martini. It tasted like pepper and vodka. I mean really you must be more creative. My papaerdelle blognese was just as boring and flavorless. Bolonese is not just a red sauce with meat in fact its not considered a red sauce per se. Bolonese is more bout the method of cooking this sauce than anything else. There were no soft tasty recognizable bits if celery, carrots and onions which are usually slowly suteed in a meat stock to a delightful bouquet of root vegetables then the meats are slowly added usually beef pork and veal. Fresh tomatoes are added but not as to overpowere the root vegetable. I truly believe that this was just meat added to a regular red sauce. The lobster with a light cream sauce was just as bad and the cream sauce was separated. Very small bits of lobster and no hints of any other ingredients. The fra diavlo fared better but again just completely overpowered by a cheap red sauce. This has become a regular thing in Rehoboth, restaraunts believe their own hype established in their glory days and then consistancy and execution are thrown out the door as time goes by. Our server was pleasent but seemed a little rushed. The first thing we said was we were not in any hurry. I just dont get the decor. Nothing to do with italian or seacoat ambience.
