I have been wanting to try this place as I drive by it almost daily. I read the reviews and agree the inside is not impressive. But the food, friendliness & reasonable prices make this a gem! I had the Emmanuel Burger- it was delicious with a unique combination of toppings. Definitely a gourmet burger! And I ordered onion rings instead of fries and they were the big, fresh delicious kind! Finally had a chance to try dinner there and it was SO good! We had the chicken quesadillas and the mixed fajitas. Portions were extremely generous, delicious and filling. Everything was homemade, including the tortillas. Service was friendly and accomodating. The decor is very simple and could use a little decorating, but it was very clean and comfortable. How have we missed this hidden gem? We heard and read good things and finally got there and , oh my!!! The chicken fajitas were amazing and plentiful, with homemade tortillas, delicious onions and peppers and chicken to die for. My wife has a pizza ( I had to sample some!) and all I can say is Nicolas, Grottos and Pats better watch out for this neighbor who's pie was A-1!!!! We went there for a quick meal after walking into Lewes Diner and waiting for 10 before walking out because no one acknowledged us (and only one table was occupied, never a good sign). Complete opposite experience at Emmanuels, the entire staff at Emmanuels was very gracious and happy we were there. What Emmanuel's does they do VERY well. The food is typical Hispanic food, along with subs, pizza, etc. What they cook/prepare and serve is tasty, generous, and timely. Plus, the staff is very, very nice. This is a family business, and you can tell they take pride in what they do. The breakfast options and Hispanic foods sounded great, I will definitely go back to try. My hamburger was amazing! And huge. Served with steaming hot fries. This was our first stop in but won't be our last. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and wish they stayed open a little later. After we had addressed the waitress she said they were all out of chips due to a problem with the delivery truck. They prepare breakfast all-day, which is great as I often have breakfast for dinner. Also, their pizza is good.
