We were told this was THE place to try in Rehoboth and I can only repeat the recommendation! We came for lunch on a chilly drizzly day and the tomato soup was deeply comforting and a huge pile of cheese on top. Service was quick and personable which is really not that common anymore. Pickle chips were super tasty with a good sauce. We aren't beer drinkers but the warm cocktail was also delicious and another blanket of comfort. We both had sandwiches and both barely finished half, the portions are worth 2 regular or 3 small meals! The chicken could have used more seasoning but it was plenty. A lively vibe greeted us when we came by for an early Saturday night dinner! We had a super server, Sean, who made spot on recommendations! We started with a few samplings from the taps. Then, we narrowed down our dinner choices and decided to split a salad and a sandwich. When they arrived promptly, we were thrilled to have our beet salad and Reuben split evenly and plated separately! Well done, Sean and kitchen!! Both were delicious!! Stopped here for some much needed respite from a busy month. Took the advice of my new bar mate friend by ordering the calamari. Great call. Very light and crunchy. Not chewy. The fried jalapeño pieces were an added plus. The dipping honey sauce was too magical to touch. The blackened shrimp tacos were a hit. The side of cole slaw was too dry though. I really liked the interior and I thought the food was decent. The crab pizza was super cheesy, but a bit heavy and greasy. The parmesan truffle fries were addictive. Minus two stars because the hosts just were not welcoming. I don't want to say that all breweries allow strollers but many do since there's generally a lot of space and it's pretty family friendly. The host acted like we were trying to dine in our bathing suits; like we were smelly; like we were doing something so repulsive by bringing in the stroller with our 5 month old. In fact we were waiting for our friends to arrive and stood there for a moment because it was raining and we didn't have much to cover the baby... And she asked us to go outside because we couldn't have the stroller inside. Later I think I noticed they did the same thing to another family, so at least they were fair...I think I noticed them looking back at us and saying something. Anyway it was a very weird experience that threw off my mood at the beginning of a nice meal. Interior was really cool-looking and spacious --which also makes me wonder why there is a no stroller policy... It's Delaware law, I guess but it seems so arbitrary... Shouldn't it be specific to buildings? Either way, the front of house staff just seemed so rude about it. We didn't know about the no stroller policy in Delaware... Why be like that to paying customers? Maybe the businesses in Delaware should write to their legislators to try and get this law changed if it bothers staff so much. I'm assuming there are a lot of families like us that come in town wanting to have a beer, despite having an infant or young children who need strollers. read more

We came on NYE and it was pretty busy. We waited about 45 minutes for a table and our service was sub par. I got a cubano sandwich and it was mid. Don't feel awesome after eating it. He got the beef sandwich and added peppers, onions and cheese. The waitress seemed annoyed making modifications. Her attitude was just lame. read more

There's so many things to like here. Every time we come, the weight staff has been happy, right, knowledgeable, and pleasant. No exceptions. That's a great record. But the food. Oh my goodness. The dollar wings on Sundays is a very good deal, because the buffalo wings are some of the best in town, and are very similar to the ones at Summer House. The dry wings are the ones that my partner prefers and he loves those. The roast beef, which is actually ribeye on a whack sandwich roll, is also spectacular. There's Caesar salads are also good. Another ones, we haven't been able to go wrong yet with anything we've ordered here. And by the way, their blue cheese dressing is made in house, and it is truly exceptional. read more

It's been over 11 years since my last review of this place so I thought I'd review it again. I've tried to go there several times over the last couple of years with my gf, but every time we got there and found out there was a 45-minute or longer wait we would just walk down the street to Chesapeake and Maine instead. I hate waiting that long to eat and as a rule, I usually won't do it. But the other night I was by myself and it was fairly early, around five-ish, and I very easily got a seat at the bar. Good food. Good beer. Loud, busy environment (great for kids. ha). To be upfront about it: there is a waitlist. It is long. It does move faster than they say it will, but it still does take a while. Yes, it looks like tables are open, and the space is large, but I don't know, they have a system I guess. We didn't really wait that long, but we waited. Good beer. Not blow your mind beer, but really very solid beer. Can't say one sticks out to me, but that's the point, they are all fine choices - pick the style you normally like. (although they do recommend pairings for certain dishes). They also have cocktails for those that are feeling un beer. The food was all good. I think the standout of the night was the macaroni and cheese with wings in it. Great spot for kids. good kids menu and kids drinks. Service was fairly quick once we were seated. This is a really great spot to pop in for lunch after a morning on the beach. It's spacious and service was quick. I love all of the cocktail and drink options. We had a plethora of food items, but I'd definitely recommend the corn ribs to start, especially if you're a fan of street corn. My family members had the After the Storm pizza which they liked, but was a bit salty. I had the chili cheese dog duo which I enjoyed but wish it just had a bit more cheese sauce. My brother enjoyed his shrimp tacos as well. For dessert, you cannot go wrong with the banana pudding! Overall, I'd recommend if you're looking for a nice lunch or dinner in the area! read more

We went after the Rehoboth Marathon and although the restaurant was crowded we were able to score standing room behind the bar. The service was amazing for the lunch rush that was happening - both the food and drinks came out super quick. The Pear-This cocktail was delicious and all of the drinks are reasonably priced. The pizzas were also impressive for bar pies (the undefeated one was amazing!) and affordable, especially for the area. They also have a store front right next door where you can buy cans/growlers/liquor to take home. We would definitely return here! read more

I was soooo stoked to visit this place! I was introduced to Dogfish 90 minute in the Florida Keys and never knew there was a restaurant. I was geeked to find out that I was near it while in town for work. The place was booming! Packed upstairs in the rafters, downstairs, and at the bar. Service was very slow and there were a lot of employees saying they were new and had only been working for a week, at that point. The food was decent and took over an hour to make it to the table. I can honestly say, this place has totally redeemed themselves. My last visit was on point. Seated right away, attentive staff, short wait time for food and drinks were refilled promptly. I had The Light of the Word pizza and it was delicious. The new chicken parm. sandwich my wife had was huge and tasted amazing. My son's burger was cooked to perfection and my daughter said the Mac & Cheese was excellent. The show stopper was that the fries are back! They are the best and there is no substitute. I know now that it was a temporary, would have been nice if someone told us it was temporary because my whole family was ready to abandon our favorite place to eat. Beers 5 stars food 2 stars due to overly salty wings and the pizza was just meh. We ordered the dry-rubbed wings but it was loaded with too much salt. After the Storm pizza lacks tomato sauce and too doughy. They are no match for the excellent microbrews. We stop by every time we are in town for the beers. Over the years of visiting DFH in Rehoboth we've had mixed experiences that were often average for both food, beer and service. Our recent visit for lunch was great and a lot of fun!  The service was spot on and our server had a good sense of humor. We were seated in one of the "Hobbit hole" booths, which enabled us to chat and laugh without additional noise from the floor.  DFH has always had a variety of unique beers and I've been challenged to find many that I would drink on a regular basis. The most recent releases changed my perspective as I found several that I purchased 6 packs to go. Two we enjoyed were the 30min light IPA, at 4% and only 95 calories. This is a good summer drink and doesn't taste like a light beer. The other one was the Grateful Dead IPA, which also had a lower ABV (5.3) Delicious!  The food was spot on this time also. The Old man in the Sea pizza was such a huge hit that we almost ordered a second one! Visiting in the off season is definitely a different experience than during the summer. read more

Hello Yelpers....went back again to Dogfish, my last review I upped the stars from 3 to 4 since I was contacted from them and I was satisfied. So I'm back and it's back to 3.... 0r a 2...??....Let me explain..the server was fine...but the food came out too fast. We were having our appetizers and our mains come out...thats the one things that really bothers me is the timing factor or lack of. Besides that the French Fries were overly salty...that you could only eat a few...and weren't even close to a crispy fry. Shouldn't the server pick up on that and ask?...was there a problem with the fries?.._to me it comes down to training or lack of.....I've been in this industry for a long time. The nacho were tasty...Drinks were good...just need to be more consistent...I don't think that's asking too much . read more

Our supposed 55 minute wait was only 25 minutes. Score! We were able to grab the most delicious affogato beer and pretzel bites while we waited in here very cool rustic feeling restaurant atmosphere. With much anticipation, we ordered the Mac and cheese, fish and chips, and spinach strawberry salad. Everything was superb, but the Mac and cheese was shockingly the worst Mac and cheese we have ever tasted. The smokiness overpowered everything so much so that none of us could finish the bowl. I'm somewhere between a 3 and a 4 for this Dogfish; if I could dole out a 3.7 I would. Were my expectations too high? I'd been drinking Dogfish's brews for going on 20 years now, so maybe. Anyway, after I found myself in Delaware recently, I made a beeline for this legendary brewery, situated in a dark, modern, blocky building with a stylish outdoor patio set a couple of blocks off Rehoboth's main beach. Walking in you face a nice bar area right next to the windows; a few steps further and you're inside a large, unassuming room with tall ceilings and a proper stage for live music at the back. To the side you have a series of booths against the outside wall, with very cool round windows looking onto the street. That's where you wanna sit, but alas, we got sat in the big room by ourselves at a small cafe table, which just wasn't very sexy - it was like we were a couple of truants doing time in a warehouse. Our server was efficient and seemingly indifferent, but then millennials are like that (oh no you didn't!) and that's not a dealbreaker for me. Annnnyway, I don't have any other broad generalizations up my sleeve at the moment, however, the food was also only so-so; my turkey burger was a bit on the dry side, though tasty and filling enough. The beer, as I'd hoped, brought everything back up to snuff, with my choice of Hazy Squall IPA saving the day, and the menu seems fairly deep for a brew pub, with burgers, salads, pizzas, tacos and more. I bet this place is absolutely rocking when there's a band playing or it's prime time, and I'm sure the energy level is off the charts then. But as it stands, our lunchtime visit just didn't leave me doing backflips - it was simply an average Monday afternoon lunch in a very nice place (the outside patio seemed way nicer though) with excellent beer. Very good, sure, with lots of beer (and merchandise) options but not a destination in and of itself. Would I come back? Maybe. The merch store next door is pretty fun. read more

I have been a fan of the brand for years and visited their brewery in Milton a few years ago. I was happy to see that the restaurant was in Rehoboth Beach and excited to visit during our family mini-vacation. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. (No strollers allowed in the indoor area) We initially opted for outside and brought our stroller...but there was a decent amount of flies buzzing around so we took the stroller back to the car and opted for indoor seating...which was much more comfortable on my opinion. The indoor section was great...lots of lovely Dogfish Head-inspired decor and large stage for whenever they have live music. There is the restaurant (tables and chairs) area and also a bar area toward the front of the space. As expected, lots of beers on tap...including the high-coveted 120-Minute IPA....#$10 for 10 ounces...sounds good to me. The food menu had some interesting options...we decided to get steak, wings, nachos and fries to share. Everything was okay-good...I can't say anything stood out. The server was very pleasant, helpful and attentive. Right next door is their "Empourium" which is an awesome concept...lots of take out beers (cans, bottles and growler fills) and tons of merch (pins, bottle openers, clothing, coasters...just to name a few). They also had Dogfish Head spirits...which I didn't even know they make (gin, vodka, rum and single malt)...quite a pleasant surprise. They were nice enough for me to sample some as well...I was your average kid in a candy store. Parking is easy right on the main street. Meters are in effect May 15th through September 15th, 10am - 10pm...so make sure to pay during those times via credit card or using the app. Would love to return if I am in the area again. read more

I've seen Dogfish Head beer in stores, so when we saw the brewery and distillery nearby, we had to stop in when we were I Delaware last weekend I didn't realize they made spirits, too. They have a bar, restaurant, awesome patio space, and store! They often have live music. We only had a few drinks at the bar, though the plates of food at nearby tables looked really good! DHB is a family favorite whenever we're in Rehoboth - we love the lively ambiance and the food is always delicious and generous, as are the beverages. Service and ambiance were great, but the food was a bad start to our Rehoboth beach vacation. We started off with the pretzel bites, which came out within minutes of ordering so you know it was just microwaved, which, if it tastes fine I dont care, but they were stale and rock hard. Then my wife got the shrimp tacos and the shrimp was very rubbery and the flavor was bad, so she only ate one of the three tacos. I had the chili cheese dogs and even that tasted bland. Really can't recommend this place other than for the service and ambiance, and am surprised by the rave reviews. read more
