Delicious flight!
Geneen G.

Always wanted to come and try a flight of different flavored beer. We were NOT let down. It was awesome!! Fun and knowledgeable staff fueled our excitement and experience. Great time!

We ended up coming here three times on our three day trip. They had that many things to try! This is a fantastic brewery that doesn't look like it would be as spacious as it is judging from the outside. They have a tremendous amount of seating areas, two rooms inside and a very large covered patio. There was a food truck available if wanted to eat as well. They had a large merch store that we checked out on our last visit. They also had a very efficient, but unique way to order. If you wanted straight pints you went one way, if you wanted a flight you went another. The signage was very clear and I believe it helps to keep down the lines. We went early enough in the day that it wasn't much of an issue. You also have the option to upgrade one of your glasses on the flight to a fun souvenir glass. This is definitely the brewery to check out in Cape May.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The beers are hit or miss with some really good and others just meh. They sell lots of cool merch and have a nice little outdoor area.

Being in Cape May-had to stop & get a Cheesesteak from Erma's then a yummy flavored beer at Cape May Brewing. Great memories of this place!

Had a great visit to Cape May Brewing. Love the atmosphere and the layout of the place. They have a ton of different types of beers and seltzers on tap. You can do a flight, buy a pint or get some to go. If you can't decide the knowledgable staff, will help pick something you will like. Some breweries only do IPAs, but Cape May has a wide variety of styles of beer. They have something for everyone!

Love this brewery. They have lots of beers to choose from with a few hard lemonades, seltzers and slushies thrown in the mix. We have visited several times but know that they are light on staff during the week, so you may need to stand in line for a beer. They don't have food, but host food trucks occasionally. They allow bringing your own food, so we like to get take-away and bring it to the brewery to drink a beer with our meal. This place is big, so it's great for groups. They have ample seating inside and out and their space is full of color and art. They also have a great "brewtique" with great swag. If you like beer and visiting a brewery, go to here.

Though I have known about the brand for many years, it took me forever to visit their tap room. For some reason, I always thought it was just this small brewery with not too many options to choose from. Well, I was wrong. As with a lot of these brewery type places, this is not something you would ever know existed without plugging the destination into navigation. In this case you think you are on a private flight out of the Cape May Airport, but instead you found the home of Cape May beer. Coming in you can go directly to the bar, or if you are like me, you can fill out a flight card, and then head to the bar through the other door to get into the flight line. Coming in the winter time there was no flight line, but the card still made for an easy transaction for my four choices. Being well plugged into Untappd made the selection process simple and the beers were a wonderful new experience that I thought I might have already tapped out of considering the number of brews I have tried from them over the years. There is a lot of room to sit inside and in better weather it seems that outside would be a great option as well. There is a gift shop there too so if you are looking for some brand merch you will be happy as well.

We visited with my family and 3 kiddos on a Thursday around 4:30 PM. Ample seating very big space inside and outdoor (which has some fire pits and heat lamps) They were hosting a trivia competition and on site was hit the road jack food truck (which was AWESOME) I like the pick your own flight options and plenty of variety for even the folks less inclined to choose beer. Space is kid friendly and is situated next to a pottery painting place, peanut store, and soap store. Staff is friendly and chill, overall a relaxing environment and never felt rushed out or ignored. They also have darts (2) on site if you're up for a few rounds. Parking is also plentiful.

CAPE MAY: one of the most well-known breweries based in NJ is Cape May Brewing Co. and they have a cool indoor tasting room with awesome artwork, string lights, an impressive sticker wall, a TV to watch the game, and great beers. 24 varieties are available on-tap and we tried the Pick of the Batch (pumpkin), Oktoberfest (marzen), Orange Crushin' It (IPA), and the Hot Honey Porter. The rules are that leashed dogs are allowed at their outdoor Brewtanical Garden (open Spring - Fall), but they'll allow you inside if they are able to; just ask one of the bartenders. "Seasonally, our Brewtanical Garden is also available, which has its own parking lot and separate entrance under the trees behind the main building. This space is open to the elements, but some of the tables offer patio umbrellas if needed for protection from the sun or light rain!" They have a great merch store and Brie's Dad went home with a nice rain jacket.

My husband and my mom and I came here to check this spot out. I overall thought the place was very cool and everyone there was down to earth. I would definitely come back here again. Too bad we missed out on going on a tour. I would have loved to see what that was about.

My husband and I arrived here at 11 and there were already some people waiting. It got busy around noon and the line started to build up. My favorite was the Tan Lime, it was light, crisp, and refreshing. Unfortunately the canned beer for that already sold out. Oh Say Can You Sea was very sweet. We first were sitting down underneath the tent. However, we got bitten by mosquitoes so we moved inside to sit by the bar.

There are a lot of breweries in NJ. Hundreds. And Cape May stands out for several reasons. 1. Founded in 2011, well before the crush of small town nanobreweries that started in 2015/2016. This gave them extra time to hone their craft. 2. Gorgeous tasting room. So many different rooms, styles of seating, nooks and crannies, both inside and outside. 3. Most breweries have a shelf or two of merchandise, maybe a whole wall. This place has an entire separate room with lots of fun swag. 4. Most importantly, the beer is superb. They distribute all over PA, NJ and DE, and the tasting room had 21 beers on tap during our recent visit, plus two seltzers and a NA ginger ale. All of it is complex, varied, interesting and exceptionally well made. Any beer on the menu tells you these people know what they're doing. We last visited on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in March, and the place was packed to the rafters. They have a great system in place to handle the crowds: a host greets you and describes the process, they have a designated area to fill out flight cards, and then two separate lines to approach the bar depending on if you want a flight or a full pint. It's a very well oiled machine. My only complaint is the bathroom situation. They only have two single, unisex bathrooms for the whole place, so lines frequently develop. Overall, this is one of the oldest and best craft breweries in the state, and should definitely be on your list of NJ breweries to visit.

Not going to deduct a star or anything but why isn't there an Exit Zero beer? Anyways, had my first Cape May IPA a few days ago and had to go to the brewery myself. Loved it. Did a flight of four different styles and was pleasantly impressed. Great knowledgeable staff. Sat outside - plenty of sunshine and picnic tables. Get in here, it's by the CMA (airport)

Seasonal flight. Delicious!

Ask the Community - Cape May Brewing Company

Do they have any non-alcoholic drinks? I will be the DD.

I believe they have root beer? Plus you are allowed to bring your own non-alcoholic beverage in. There is a hot dog/chili place next door to brewery that sells soft drinks as well.

Are they still allowing outside food? Not sure with covid restrictions. Also, has anything gone where the taco shop was?

I was there a few weeks ago and they were. We actually got hot dogs from the same complex and walked them over. The server also encouraged us to order and have it delivered.

Are they open currently for tastings? Sundays as well?

They did a nice job of remodeling and making it their own. It's a really cool, small building with a small merch area, a small stage area for live music, a few outdoor seats out front, a small private parking area, and a small beer garden out back. One of the few breweries in NJ where the brewing tanks and various equipment are not prominently displayed. Most importantly, the beer is excellent. I was very impressed by the variety on offer and the quality. Some breweries will have an entire taplist made up of different IPA's and lagers that all taste similar, and a stout thrown in for good measure. At Obscura, no two beers were alike, and all very well made. The standout for me was The Earth is Breathing which was a very interesting mashup of a DIPA and a west coast IPA. Extremely unique flavor and unlike any beer I've had before (which is saying a lot considering how many breweries I've been to). We really enjoyed Obscura and will definitely come back next time we're near the shore!

My girlfriend and I came for the first time shortly after opening on a Friday afternoon in August. There were only a few other customers during our time there. The beer was pretty good. The two standouts for me were the Wah Wah Watch butterscotch ale, and the hard birch beer. I've seen plenty of NJ breweries that make their own root beer but never a hard version. They seem to be known for their seltzers and have quite a few on tap, many more than I've seen at other breweries. The staff were exceptionally friendly.
