I've been a fan of this brewery for a while, so it was great to finally visit in person. The location is not what I originally expected, but I guess space close to the airport was prime for the square footage they needed to brew and pack in a bunch of people. The lineup on tap included several limited releases, which was what I was hoping for. I tasted a few different ones and the seasonal, but at the end went back to my old reliable variations of hazy IPAs. I did the tasting flight that comes with a souvenir glass, and you should too. We stopped in right at opening on a fall weekend, so it was quiet, which actually made it easy to take our time (and to visit with a 10-week-old that I was not sharing with) but I can see it getting packed pretty easily. read more

We ended up coming here three times on our three day trip. They had that many things to try! This is a fantastic brewery that doesn't look like it would be as spacious as it is judging from the outside. They have a tremendous amount of seating areas, two rooms inside and a very large covered patio. There was a food truck available if wanted to eat as well. They had a large merch store that we checked out on our last visit. They also had a very efficient, but unique way to order. If you wanted straight pints you went one way, if you wanted a flight you went another. The signage was very clear and I believe it helps to keep down the lines. We went early enough in the day that it wasn't much of an issue. You also have the option to upgrade one of your glasses on the flight to a fun souvenir glass. Love this brewery. They have lots of beers to choose from with a few hard lemonades, seltzers and slushies thrown in the mix. We have visited several times but know that they are light on staff during the week, so you may need to stand in line for a beer. They don't have food, but host food trucks occasionally. They allow bringing your own food, so we like to get take-away and bring it to the brewery to drink a beer with our meal. This place is big, so it's great for groups. Though I have known about the brand for many years, it took me forever to visit their tap room. For some reason, I always thought it was just this small brewery with not too many options to choose from. Well, I was wrong. As with a lot of these brewery type places, this is not something you would ever know existed without plugging the destination into navigation. In this case you think you are on a private flight out of the Cape May Airport, but instead you found the home of Cape May beer. Coming in you can go directly to the bar, or if you are like me, you can fill out a flight card, and then head to the bar through the other door to get into the flight line. Coming in the winter time there was no flight line, but the card still made for an easy transaction for my four choices. Being well plugged into Untappd made the selection process simple and the beers were a wonderful new experience that I thought I might have already tapped out of considering the number of brews I have tried from them over the years. There is a lot of room to sit inside and in better weather it seems that outside would be a great option as well. There is a gift shop there too so if you are looking for some brand merch you will be happy as well. read more

We visited with my family and 3 kiddos on a Thursday around 4:30 PM. Ample seating very big space inside and outdoor (which has some fire pits and heat lamps) They were hosting a trivia competition and on site was hit the road jack food truck (which was AWESOME) I like the pick your own flight options and plenty of variety for even the folks less inclined to choose beer. Space is kid friendly and is situated next to a pottery painting place, peanut store, and soap store. Staff is friendly and chill, overall a relaxing environment and never felt rushed out or ignored. CAPE MAY: one of the most well-known breweries based in NJ is Cape May Brewing Co. and they have a cool indoor tasting room with awesome artwork, string lights, an impressive sticker wall, a TV to watch the game, and great beers. 24 varieties are available on-tap and we tried the Pick of the Batch (pumpkin), Oktoberfest (marzen), Orange Crushin' It (IPA), and the Hot Honey Porter. The rules are that leashed dogs are allowed at their outdoor Brewtanical Garden (open Spring - Fall), but they'll allow you inside if they are able to; just ask one of the bartenders. "Seasonally, our Brewtanical Garden is also available, which has its own parking lot and separate entrance under the trees behind the main building. This space is open to the elements, but some of the tables offer patio umbrellas if needed for protection from the sun or light rain!" Visiting Cape May for a wedding - I wanted to visit this brewery whose products I have seen down in Florida. It is a nice small brewery. The staff is friendly and the drinks were good, they have a nice gift shop, and have food trucks on site for dining. Plenty of space for people to grab a table and relax. It is right next to the Cape May Airport. I would go back again - but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. But, if I was in the area - I would 100% visit again. read more

My favorite was the Tan Lime, it was light, crisp, and refreshing. Unfortunately the canned beer for that already sold out. Oh Say Can You Sea was very sweet. There are a lot of breweries in NJ. Hundreds. And Cape May stands out for several reasons. 1. Founded in 2011, well before the crush of small town nanobreweries that started in 2015/2016. This gave them extra time to hone their craft. 2. Gorgeous tasting room. So many different rooms, styles of seating, nooks and crannies, both inside and outside. 3. Most breweries have a shelf or two of merchandise, maybe a whole wall. This place has an entire separate room with lots of fun swag. 4. Most importantly, the beer is superb. They distribute all over PA, NJ and DE, and the tasting room had 21 beers on tap during our recent visit, plus two seltzers and a NA ginger ale. All of it is complex, varied, interesting and exceptionally well made. Any beer on the menu tells you these people know what they're doing. We last visited on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in March, and the place was packed to the rafters. They have a great system in place to handle the crowds: a host greets you and describes the process, they have a designated area to fill out flight cards, and then two separate lines to approach the bar depending on if you want a flight or a full pint. It's a very well oiled machine. My only complaint is the bathroom situation. They only have two single, unisex bathrooms for the whole place, so lines frequently develop. Overall, this is one of the oldest and best craft breweries in the state, and should definitely be on your list of NJ breweries to visit. read more

Cape may brewery is a great brewery. Little bit of a weird layout for the space but their beer is phenomenal.

I've been a fan of their beer for years and always grab a six pack or two when visiting my dad in Delaware. It's distributed to several bottle shops and liquor stores near where he lives. Last week I had the opportunity to visit the brewery in Cape May while traveling home. I took the "off the beaten path" route this time which was the Garden State Pkwy to Cape May - Lewes Ferry, then down the DelMarVa peninsula and so on... So, I decided to stop in and have a pint and grab a couple of six packs of beer I can't get in North Carolina and Delaware. I got there just after opening (12:00pm) and there was already a nice crowd. I had one, the Oktoberfest. It was really nice, smooth and malty. I purchased a six pack of that and Jersey Proud of course to take home, which I sampled Saturday. Good stuff. The brewery itself has ample seating at the bar and rear yard which is covered. Tours are offered inside. By the way, it's located in at the regional airport of all places in a commercial strip just outside. Google Maps / Waze will take you to the actual commercial production facility which is down the near the main road. The tap house is located not far away and you can see the commercial strip from the brewery. There is a hot dog place next door and a peanut roaster in that strip as well. They do allow you to bring food in. Nice spot! read more

The Mexican Coffee Stout is a meal in a glass, Cape May White & Devils reach a nice alternative to a std ale/IPA; the Dog Cranberry Shandy refreshing. The beer is very good and the vibe is cool for a brewery but this place gets overly crowded on weekends (especially so on holiday weekends). This place has a serious bathroom shortage. When we arrived, the bathroom line was longer than the pint line. Live music is great but the band on Memorial Day weekend was way off tune and not very good (sorry folks). We did beers " to go " from the shop, we looked at some of their T-shirts, hats, and hoodies but no thanks at their advertised prices. If you want to go, head over at an off time as the place is worth a visit, minus the crowds and the epically long bathroom lines. With a few breweries in the area, Cape May Brewery is worth a visit but not the best brewery in the area. read more

We brought hoagies from Westside Market for lunch since they do not sell food (we called to make sure this was still the deal). It was windy/chilly out or we would have sat outside. We sat at a high top table inside. Barstools weren't comfortable at all therefore limiting the time we wanted to sit there. While on a trip to visit my fiance's family over the holidays, we decided to take a day trip to Cape May as I had never been to the coast of New Jersey. On our way into the cute town of Cape May, we stopped at the Cape May Brewery as his family love it. I'm not as big into breweries as they are overall, but I do live in San Diego, which has the 2nd highest amount of breweries in teh country, so I've been to my fair share. With that said, I was very impressed with the Cape May Brewery! From the look of the brewery itself, to the name of the drinks, to the dirnks themselves, it was a top notch experience! The drinks are fun names themed after coastal/ship terms (mop water,etc), the facility is huge and has a coastal rustic theme to it. We easily found a perfect table for our party of 5 and we were also able to bring in lunch with us. I highly recommend you stop in if you're in the area! read more

Every seat inside was filled - so I would recommend going on a nice day so you can enjoy, their huge outdoor patio! Service was great... They have a pretty flawless system for those who would like individual beers, flights or purchase cans. Out front had a food truck, as the brewery itself does not serve food. I'll start this off with a disclaimer: I'm from PA and we have more breweries in any given county than anyone can count. I understand that everyone has a different style, taste, and preference when it comes to beer and brewing. Out of the six beers we tried, none of them were for me. They might be for you. The space is cool but it's set up pretty different from what I'm used to. When you first come in you're greeted and given a rundown on their system. You're encouraged to plan a flight off to the side before entering the main bar and handing them your slip. You can also order full pours and just skip the flight process. They have some tables inside and outside. Outside is great if the weather is nice as you can see the planes coming and going from the airport. The staff is less personable than other breweries but they seem to very popular so they must be doing something right. For me, I'd prefer Behr (3 minutes down the road) or Gusto (near the ferry). They have beer that fits my taste better, and they're smaller with more personable staff. read more

First time at the brewery with mixed feelings. - Atmosphere: decor really cool! And outdoor patio seems very nice (we did not seat outside since it was closed because they said it was cold and windy). There are picnic wooden tables, barrel tables, bar with stools, ...) - Beer: hubbie got the IPA and said it tasted really good. I didn't like the root beer - Service: not super friendly but not rude either - Covid distancing pretty good although it was pretty empty (maybe 3-4 tables) Stayed for 30min although we would have stayed more if they offered wider variety of non-alcoholic drinks. We are a couple with a small kid. Currently only 1 root beer, no soft drinks, juices etc. So I would say that it is not family friendly nor a place that a person who cannot drink alcohol can enjoy (pregnant for example). Maybe just bring drinks from outside? Came Thur night around 6. Had to wait 15min line to get seated, they were quite busy. The outdoor seating area was very cute and socially distanced. The staff was very friendly and even gave my friend's daughter a sticker :) The grapefruit seltzer was light and refreshing. The cranberry beer slush was SO GOOD! Only downside of Cape May Brewing is that it's a drive away from the city center! Nevertheless, we trekked out on an overcast day during our stay in Cape May to try some beers. The brewery is located near the airport, and it really isn't far from the beach / city area at all. There is ample parking, and the space itself is quite large with ample indoor and outdoor seating. The vibe throughout is perfect for a shore-town brewery - lots of large graphics / artwork on the walls and just a fun, comfortable and casual vibe. We snagged a table outside, where we could enjoy the beach breeze and enjoy the live music (a nice touch). We were blown away by the number of beers they had to choose from - and even happier that they offered (and seemingly) encouraged flights. The flow in the brewery made sense and was convenient - you first explored the beer options they had while crafting your flight list, then you gave it to the bartender after waiting in line, and then your personalized flight was ready to pick up! Even though it was busy and there was a private event happening during our stay, this process still felt seamless and streamlined. It was so hard to narrow down my choices for my flight, but honestly, I don't think I could have gone wrong. My husband focused on IPAs, while I focused on the more fruity / sour options. My favorites were the peach ring sour (tasted JUST like the peach rings of my childhood) and the orange IPA - we luckily scored a 4-pack of the the peach ring sour to take home and enjoy beyond our trip! My husband really enjoyed his IPAs, also buying a 4-pack to bring back home for later. Overall, we loved Cape May Brewing and would certainly make it back on future trips to Cape May!
