For the past several years, our family has gathered at Rehoboth Panera every Thursday after my elderly mother-in-law's hair appointment. It had become a meaningful family tradition for all of us. Just might be unfriendly and coarse treatment We often got from the food pick up area, it wasn't enough to keep us away. During our most recent visit, a roach crawled off my husband's plate. When we brought the food back and try to discreetly inform the manager, manager Lauren appeared annoyed, dismissed the situation by saying it "probably came from the produce," and never once apologized. She grabbed the food and walked away, shaking her head annoyed while saying they would replace it. When I calmly expressed that her response felt rude given the circumstances, she became defensive and downright, rude and abusive rather than compassionate. What happened next was even more disturbing. After remaking the food, Lauren and another manager, Ashley, were seen pointing, laughing, and mocking my husband as he walked away. When he returned the replacement meal and requested a refund instead, Lauren made an inappropriate comment about his anatomy, and Ashley made a shocking remark implying he was abusing his wife. Finding an insect in food is bad enough. Being humiliated and treated with such hostility afterward was unacceptable. After years of loyalty to this location, our family will not be returning. read more

It's a typical Panera which is a good thing. Clean. Easy to order via tablets or directly with a person. Fast service. Food as always is excellent and simple, and healthy if you so choose. This location is in the heart of the Rehoboth shopping area along Coastal Highway and very easy to get to. We will return. read more

I was just at this Panera and I usually come to this Panera a lot but after the experience that me and my family had today, I will not be going back there. My husband witness a shift manager throwing bowls of soup around when plating it the soup landed on 3 plates when my husband said something to her she copped an attitude, looked at one of her employees and mumbled something under her breath and my husband heard her. The place was not busy at all. There was no reason for her to be flying soup around on plates. We asked for a manager she told us that she was one and stormed off ! another manager named John wasn't very friendly at all. Ask for the shift manager name and he refused to give it to us. Normally this place is great. I've never had a problem with any of the workers there my order was over $50 and to be treated like that is nonsense. read more

I'm loving Panera's new menu. Lately I've been on a Panera kick. The Greek goddess salad is so good! A blend of romaine, kale, and arugula with a creamy avocado, buttermilk, dressing. 490 calories love. I love the duet with either soup or salad and half sandwich! My fav is the chicken chipotle avocado melt. Toasty focaccia bread layered with chipotle mayo, avocado slices, smoked chicken, and pepper dew peppers. The pepper dew peppers make this sandwich! The baked goods are always fresh and tasty. I really like their tuna salad (I miss the old way of making it with mustard), but the last few times I have gotten a sandwich there, they were very hastily and poorly put together. The sandwich was overfilled to the point you can't pick them up without them falling apart. The add ons (lettuce, tomato, etc) also falling out and making a mess. For this reason I give only 3 stars. There needs to be increased quality control here. read more

I have been a diehard fan of the high quality & dependable consistency of Panera baked goods here. And also using their catering menu for in-office work meetings back in the DC area. The past 6ish months have seen a noticeable slip in quality, taste & freshness I've come to be a bit "addicted" to at this Panera. Less tightly run across all shifts too? Okay. It's a blessing for my Buddha belly that i'm not as inspired to turn to you for my 'reward' Granted. But it's been my reward for a while. You became even dearer to my heart the way y'all stepped up & retooled quickly to service the community, general store style. Impressive. I ordered Toasted Garden Caprese. It was soggy with the aoli and vinegarette, one small piece of cheese and limp lettuce snd tomato. I used to love Panera, but since they changed their menu, it has been horrible. It was "To Go" so I didn't open until I got home. What a mess!! I was inedible. read more

Took about 10 mins for someone to help me. A long line formed behind me. Several people walked by but not one greeted me or said they would be with me shortly. I got my order. Food was good. Then the people in line behind me were a couple but ordered separately. They let the first person order breakfast but then when the second order the girl said "sorry but breakfast is over. Love coming here for a good salad. Everybody is always so nice and whenever I would have issues, they would fix it promptly. I usually see that as an ongoing theme at any restaurant is that when I order something a certain way they do not take the time to read my prep notes and do them the way that I ask. I am super sad that they got rid of the pumpkin muffin though. That has been a staple of ours for years and it isnow discontinued. The restaurant is always clean and there's always somebody walking around saying hello and seeing if anybody needs anything. There's always good with bad and always bad with good so we will continue visiting here when we want a good "fast food" type salad. read more

How is it that I pay $11.69 for a Green Goddess Cobb Salad, when i come home open the bag im not only missing my egg, my salad came half full. Despite having 3 cash registers, only one person serving customers this morning. One family ordering took forever. There had to be 7 to 10 people in line. Other employees should have been trained to jump in and assist. Instead, they focused on their responsibilities (ie. Pick up dishes, check on coffee, etc.) . Guy behind me had 15 minutes to get to work so I let him in front of me. Two elderly ladies went to the other register and where instructed only 1 line and asked to get to end of line. I saw them leave as one had cane and couldn't wait. I overhead several others asked to use other line, but instructed only 1. No Kiosk to order on your own. Manager appeared to help by asking next in line if he could start next order. I realize it's hard to get employees to work these days. However, it appeared several employees already working could be trained to jump in when the line is nearly out the door. read more

The food here was so on-point on a cold day in the off-season that I almost gave Panera 4 stars but the person taking our order made a few minor errors. She gave and charged me for a larger soup than I ordered, as well as gave me chips instead of an apple. However, she did get all the gluten free substitutions (no croutons) exactly right. Panera does have a very helpful page on their website about what is gluten free (I would recommend googling it before you order!). Honestly, this was the perfect lunch and really hit the spot, I just wish the staff was a little bit more attentive to the details. read more

ordered a pizza, Fettuccini with blackened chicken i and a salad. when i got to the hotel we had a Pizza, container of Fettuccini with a slab of chicken thrown on the top as an afterthought, and 3 napkins. all in a sealed bag. no fork, etc. stood at the counter until one staff member explained to the other staff member that he had to go to the counter and see what I wanted. honestly the only way I would come back is if McDonald lads had a power failure. read more

Placed an order for delivery. It never showed?? Called and was told it was picked up. Must have been delivered to an incorrect address. This is my 2nd shot at Doordash in a couple of days and our 2nd fail! She said we could replace the order if we wished or not. I would be credited. I have someone recouping from surgery and it is now again very much after the order time. I think I'm done with Doordash and not too thrilled with Panera. read more

I ordered the pepperoni pizza to be delivered through Door Dash, the delivery was quicker than I thought, however the pizza was COLD & the pepperoni wasn't even on the pizza it was all over the box. The employees don't seem to know how their own app works. I asked 3 different employees (afternoon /evening shift on Sunday) if I can pay with a gift card which is loaded onto the Panera app, none of them knew and each time asked a manager, who didn't seem sure either. Isn't it common sense to know your own app's capabilities? The portions are small for the prices, but it's a convenient location, and the dining area is decent. The low rating is mainly because of the poor customer service from the manager down to the front staff. It's pretty sad that I, a first time customer, just figured out how their app and gift card system works while the staff and manager(s) do not. So here's a tip: it's easier and more convenient to order through the Panera app using their gift card. Update 1/28/19 used the app to order and it went smoothly. The day shift staff were also helpful in helping me claim my rewards when there was a glitch. Thank you for making it easy and painless, Paige. And the broccoli cheese soup- double amazing only difference I saw in this Panera compared to others is the staff :( The staff here on this day was very inattentive and standing in groups talking while there were customers. Doesnt effect me personally but if people want to stand in circles and chat dont do it in front of the counters where customers can see you not working. read more

Called in and spoke to an employee and a manager who informed me they can't issue refunds over the phone, so I would need to return to the store (20min drive for me.) I do doordash we are on the limit schedule to have to have our orders to our customers they are signed up to have doordash so they have 30 minutes window to get orders completed we're on a time frame and we have to have our food delivered at a certain time don't require doordash drivers to run for them or you will be sitting a while useless you go in to manager in stress the food time limit delivery read more

OK I placed a rapid order here and I went to the rapid order shelf at the designated time in my order wasn't there so then I had to stand in line and ask where my order was it turns out it had been sitting on the counter behind the cashier the whole time it took the cashier a while to figure that out. Then I found out all my pastries are wet which usually indicates that they are old and sitting around or that they were held under something where they sweat it I'm not sure what the case is here but one of them I was planning to save for tomorrow and since it was so wet I want to return it. I had to wait in line a cashier told me that they do not take anything back and when I argued that I just picked it up and it wasn't eaten another cashier overheard and assisted me. So much for Panera is make it right policy. Anyway none of the other ones were not wet so then I tried to switch to cinnamon roll and they were all wet. So finally I asked for a manager to get a refund...my god what an ordeal I will never return to this Panera again really bad service. read more

I have gone here for years. In the past I've been satisfied, for the most part. However in recent months the service has been poor! Going through the drive through takes a very long time, forget going there during lunchtime or on your lunch break. Lack of staff has been reported to be the issue, however if you look in the window at the drive through there appears to be a lot of people working. So, I'm thinking some of the issue is total indifference. I've even asked about having customers pull over and wait for their order if an order is going to be delayed to help with the flow of things, that was like asking for a heart transplant!! I absolutely love Panera's food and drink offerings. So many great options to choose from. I don't like everything but I like most of it. The app for take-out is GREAT! I often order before I go and then just pick it up off their take out shelf and then eat it there. No wait at all, it's paid for on the app, and no guilting you into tipping (which they shouldn't do anyways, because it's not a table service restaurant). read more
